Mir leads Hondas home in Assen Sprint

Assen, July 1, 2024: A day of progress for Joan Mir as he captured 14th in the Sprint, pleased with data gathered as attentions turn to Sunday. Luca Marini was victim to an unforunate early end.

With an intense evening of work behind them, the Repsol Honda Team approached Saturday with their usual determination, aiming to extract all the day had to offer. Joan Mir recovered well from a tough Friday to improve his one-lap pace into the 1’32s for Q1 and end two tenths behind leading Honda Zarco. Following this up with a strong start when the lights went out in the race, Mir would set a steady and consistent pace in the Sprint to end in 14th. Avoiding any mistake, the #36 finished well and gathered important information for the future while demonstrating his pace.

Luca Marini qualified just 0.130s behind his teammate and was eager to put together a strong Sprint to gather data to improve further on Sunday. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire early with an issue during the opening stages of the race. The Repsol Honda Team will take the time to fully diagnose what occured but are already confident it will not be a factor during the Grand Prix.

The 26-lap Dutch GP is scheduled to commence at 14:00 Local Time before the quick turn around for the MotoGP paddock to the German GP next week.

“We had a solid race today; our pace was quite consistent, and I felt like I put in a lot of effort. We know the areas we have to improve and at the moment it’s about giving the best of myself each time we’re on the bike. Right now it’s very important to finish races, get information and work for things to come in the future. Another chance to go again tomorrow in the full race and see we can do over the longer distance, the conditions could change a lot.”

At the start I already felt something strange with the bike and after a lap I had to come back to the pit. I wanted to understand the hard front, so I tried to continue but it was clear we weren’t able to. The team will investigate what happened deeply, but we already know it won’t be a problem tomorrow – this is always positive. We can learn a lot from the Sprint so we just two laps we missed out on some data, especially in regard to the tyres. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow.”

Hyderabad, July 1,  2024…… The SIP Regional Prodigy 2024 Telangana Contest was held on Sunday at Classic Convention Three, Shamshabad. 2100 students of 6 to 12 years from 60 centres spread across Telangana competed in the unique contest.

It was organised by India’s biggest Skill Development organisation, SIP Academy, which has a presence across 23 states, and 900 centres in India and has trained 10 lakh children in the past 21 years and it has a global presence in 12 countries across the globe.

The contest is a wonderful opportunity for the kids to develop the confidence to face competition in future.

Sibi Shekhar said prodigy means extraordinary. Normally we just have a handful of prodigies, but, here everyone is a prodigy. It is a prestigious competition. It has many dimensions. Participation gives confidence and develops a competitive spirit not with others but with the self. It also develops concentration. It teaches the important lesson of practicing. Practice, practice and practice make anyone perfect. It also teaches us to handle failures. Winning and losing is part of a life. Parents must encourage kids to lose and win with the same spirit.

Speaking about their expansion Sibi Shekhar said SIP Academy aims to have 1500 centers from 900 in the next three years. The duration of the contest was 5 minutes. Before beginning the contest, the kids did a Brain Gym Exercise to maximize the potential of the child’s brain.

It was a contest of a unique kind where human calculators were action and calculated numbers faster than calculators.

The contest had a visualisation round, where kids were supposed to do maths by visualization and mental calculation without using an abacus.

The contest ended with the Concentration Round, where kids had to do maths in an environment where 100-decibel music was played in the background. Children did sums by singing and dancing without getting disturbed or distracted. It was a real fest to eyes to see so many kids enjoying maths. SIP Academy introduced this Concentration Round with Music recently which seem to be a great hit with kids.

Rajesh Toyota has reduced scope 1 & 2* specific emission by 31.27% from 2019 base. The dealership’s renewable energy usage stands at 90.5% as of FY23-24. Furthermore, through various lean management, inventory optimisation and digital promotions, the dealership has reduced their waste generation per vehicle by 20.3% from 2019 base. The installation of an ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) with a capacity of 10 KLD (Kilo Liters Per Day) and a filtration speed ranging between 800-1000 Liters per hour has resulted in zero liquid discharge due to efficient filtration and treatment processes undertaken at the Rajesh Dealership. They have developed a green cover of 34.21 % within their premises. In addition, various eco-initiatives are being promoted beyond the fence like creating awareness among the students in nearby schools & villages (community outreach) and contributing to water conservation projects.

* Scope 1 emissions are direct greenhouse (GHG) emissions that occur from sources that are controlled or owned by an organization (e.g., emissions associated with fuel combustion in boilers, furnaces, mobile combustion, etc.). Scope 2 emissions are indirect GHG emissions associated with the purchase of electricity, steam, heat, or cooling.

SCG Cell Therapy’s SCG142 Receives FDA IND Clearance for HPV-Associated Solid Tumors

SINGAPORE, July 1, 2024 — SCG Cell Therapy Pte Ltd (SCG), a biotechnology company developing novel immunotherapies for infectious diseases and their associated cancers, today announced that U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the Investigational New Drug (IND) application to initiate Phase 1/2 clinical trial for SCG142, a novel next-generation human papillomavirus (HPV) E7-specific T-cell receptor-engineered T (TCR T) cell therapy for patients with HPV-associated solid tumors.

“This FDA IND approval of another TCR T cell therapy candidate generated from our proprietary GianTCRTM platform is an important milestone for SCG. It marks the advancement of our TCR-based therapeutic program to treat unmet needs in different major cancer indications”, said Christy Ma, Chief Executive Officer of SCG Cell Therapy. “We are ready to commence multi-center Phase 1/2 clinical trials, assessing the potential benefits for patients via our proprietary TCR T technology.”

SCG142 is a high-avidity fully natural HPV-specific TCR armoured with a TGFβRII-41BB chimeric switch receptor. In May 2024, SCG presented preclinical data of SCG142 at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) Annual Meeting. The data indicates SCG142 had exhibited high polyfunctional avidity. It recognized both HPV-16 and HPV-52 genotypes, with a favourable safety profile with no alloreactivity or off-target toxicity. In addition, SCG142 demonstrated dual CD8 and CD4 TCR T cell proliferation and tumor inhibition in both in vitro and in vivo models, indicating CD8 co-receptor independent T cell functionality, as well as promoting long-term persistence of memory T cells.

By armoring the TCR T cells with the chimeric switch receptor, it overcomes the hostile tumor microenvironment and converts inhibitory effects into a co-stimulatory signal. This process is essential for effective immunotherapy treatment of solid tumors.
