Major Initiative by Delhi Government to Transform the Capital into a ‘Global Event Hub’ alongside a ‘Political Capital’

New Delhi, 23 July 2025 The Delhi Government is taking bold steps to redefine the capital not just as a political center, but as a Global Event Hub focused on creativity, entertainment, and soft power. A high-level roundtable chaired by Hon’ble Minister Shri Kapil Mishra brought together senior officials and major event industry leaders to shape a future-ready policy under the PPP model. The discussion aimed to make Delhi a key player in global cultural leadership by promoting sectors like art, cinema, music, literature and fashion.

Central to the discussions was the upcoming launch of a Digital Single Window Clearance System to streamline permissions for organizers. Suggestions included easing GST norms for destination weddings, simplifying event permissions at heritage sites, and improving access to government venues with fair rental practices. Stakeholders also highlighted the lack of affordable, world-class venues and proposed using vacant public lands and showcasing state-sponsored events on commercial platforms like BookMyShow.

Shri Kapil Mishra assured attendees of full government support, stating that upcoming reforms would ensure transparency in venue allocations and encourage private-sector partnerships. He emphasized the potential of Delhi’s 70–80 heritage sites for hosting cultural and private events and pledged to raise key issues with the Hon’ble Chief Minister. He concluded by reaffirming the city’s transformation under the ‘Branding Delhi’ initiative and confirmed a follow-up meeting to carry the dialogue forward.

Quality Power Secures Strategic Order for Microsoft Data Centre Project in Finland

Sangli, Maharashtra, 22 July 2025 :: Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd., a global provider of high voltage power products and power quality solutions, has secured a significant export order exceeding INR 10 crore from a leading European customer for the supply of dry-type Shunt Reactors for a hyperscale data centre project in Finland.

Modern data centres, particularly in colder European geographies, are placing increasing emphasis on grid stability, reactive power control, and power factor correction. The dry-type air core Shunt Reactors being supplied under this contract are engineered to mitigate voltage rise and manage reactive power flows under light load conditions, thereby ensuring steady voltage levels at the point of interconnection with utility grids.

The selection of Quality Power’s advanced coil technology for a hyperscale European data centre underscores the company’s technical competence and growing brand recognition in global markets. These reactors are designed in line with IEC 60076-6 and applicable data centre resilience standards and are particularly suited for continuous duty in sensitive environments where oil-filled equipment may not be preferred due to fire and environmental considerations.

The reactors will be manufactured and tested at Quality Power’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001- certified coil facility in Sangli, India. Execution activities shall will commence immediately.

Amazon continues its focus on empowering India’s AI talent, launches fifth edition of its Machine Learning Summer School

India, 22 July, 2025: Amazon India today announced the fifth edition of its flagship Machine Learning (ML) Summer School (MLSS), reinforcing its commitment to nurturing talent and bridging the ML skill gap in India. The 2025 edition aims to enroll 3,000 of India’s brightest students, selected through a qualifying assessment. Registrations will be open from July 21 to 31, 2025 and the program will commence in August 2025. Delivered virtually over four weekends, this immersive and free learning experience includes eight expert-led modules on core topics such as Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, LLMs, and more. Each session includes a live Q&A with Amazon scientists, enabling participants to deepen their understanding of core ML topics.
