Eqaro partners with RentOk to make property renting easy

New Delhi, 29 March 2023: Eqaro Guarantees, a technology led financial guarantees company, announced its partnership with Rent Ok, a super app for residential renting that enables you to advertise your property, schedule visits, complete tenant KYC, rent agreement and police verification, automate rent collection and accounting. The partnership will enable zero-deposit homes to young professionals and students across the country.

Over the next decade, an estimated 300 million Indians will migrate to the top 100 cities in the country, leading to a robust growth in rental yields, creating the need for fractional investments and resulting in quicker property turnover periods among tenants. This will be fueled further by the growth of the millennial and Gen Z populations across India. This generation has found it increasingly difficult to rent properties due to the large security deposits ranging from 2-12 months of rentals. The partnership involves building a comprehensive ecosystem of landlords and tenants and making available zero deposit homes at over 12000 properties in more than 220 locations across the country. The Zero deposit homes will be powered by Eqaro’s Rental Bond, a guarantee that protects the landlord in the event of a default by the tenant. The rental bond acts as a replacement to the security deposit & covers unpaid rent, lock-in period if any, damage to the property and unpaid bills as set out in the lease agreement.

Mr Pankaj Bhansali, Chief Operating Officer of Eqaro Guarantees said while reflecting on the partnership, “We are delighted with our partnership with Rent Ok. Rent Ok has a wide spread presence across the country including key markets like Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai & Pune. The partnership envisages a holistic and a growth partner approach to the residential rental segment. While rental bonds provide the landlord with a credit verified and an assessed tenant resulting in faster occupancy with higher rental yields, our customized guaranteeing solutions will help the landlords and co-living operator partners get access to finance by way of advance against rent receivables or collateral free loans. The tenants on the other hand get access to their dream home without the need for security deposit. For the first time in India, the tenants will also be able to carry forward the benefits of their good tenancy track record on to their subsequent tenancies.

Srijan Raj, CEO of RentOk said: Srijan Raj, CEO of RentOk said: Our partnership with Eqaro aims to make renting easy for millennials and Gen Z when they move away from home to study or start their first job in a new city. Our goal is to offer the largest collection of zero-deposit homes to tenants across the country while helping our customers (co-living/PG operators, flat owners) find creditworthy tenants backed by an institutional guarantee. Right now, we add 15,000+ new tenants every month. With Eqaro, we want to make sure that these new tenants do not face the challenges of dealing with high security deposits. This partnership also enables collateral-free working capital loans for property owners, allowing them to scale their operations without putting up any collateral. We have also introduced the concept of advance rental for co-living/PG operators in India, whereby they can get their rent in advance through Eqaro’s lending partners to meet their working capital requirements.

ManageEngine’s top five predictions in enterprise IT space for 2023

ManageEngine

Cairo, Egypt. 1st March 2023: Since the start of the pandemic, there have been immense changes in how employees interact with IT tools and teams. Across the board, enterprises are seeing more collaboration between non-IT employees and IT personnel, and this collaboration can be, at least in part, attributed to IT decentralization and democratization. In the increasingly digital-first, hybrid work environment, we have five predictions that are likely to come to fruition.

1. Enterprise-IT will evolve into enterprise-wide IT

We will continue to see the decentralization of IT personnel. Not only will most enterprises have a centralized IT group to handle requirements like systems deployment, cybersecurity, compliance, and threat detection, but these enterprises will also have IT personnel throughout the organizational chart, addressing specialized business-driven needs as they arise. As technological expertise continues to permeate throughout enterprises, non-IT employees and IT-adjacent service delivery teams will use low/no-code platforms to build and deploy simple applications. According to a recent ManageEngine study – IT at Work: 2022 & Beyond, 42% of global IT decision-makers believe that each department will have its own IT team in the next five years.

2. The tool vs. platform debate will be laid to rest

Enterprises of varying sizes and maturity have made different choices, especially in regard to the management of their technology infrastructure. Some opted to go with a specialized tool for every problem; others invested in a platform that could expand to solve problems as they arose. The platform option is far more efficient. Having a tool for every problem doesn’t help enterprises keep pace with changing demands. More and more enterprises will opt for the holistic, scalable platform approach to managing their technology infrastructure.

3. We will see unified service delivery designed for remote-first employees

Organizations will consolidate enterprise services on a unified service management platform, facilitating remote-first employees with a productive workspace—wherever these employees choose to work. In addition to IT knowledge resources commonly accessed from a single enterprise self-service portal, employees will increasingly be able to access and request services; for example, they’ll be able to onboard remote employees, confirm corporate bookings, and submit travel expenses.

4. AI models will continue to evolve

In 2023, we will see AI models with better precision, being built with a limited amount of training data. Techniques like few-shot learning and transfer learning will see increased adoption, and the gap between natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision (CV) will continue to blur. As an example, we’re already seeing applications that allow us to search through a recording for a particular topic; then, by conversing with a chatbot, we’re brought to the relevant timestamps.

AI regulation is also on the horizon. Like we saw with data privacy legislation (GDPR), this regulation will come from the European Union. Set to become law in 2023, the E.U.’s AI Act could start being enforced as early as 2024.

5. Finding and reskilling technology talent will continue to be a challenge

The rapid evolution of technology and the changing business landscape has put pressure on businesses to find and retain talent; the question of whether enterprises should find fresh talent or reskill existing employees is one that enterprises will have to make.

In the wake of the Great Resignation, some companies assumed it would be easy to find new talent, but that really hasn’t been the case, especially in regard to software-engineering workers. Factors like diversity and inclusion will continue to influence hiring decisions, and at ManageEngine, we personally believe that continuing to train, educate, and foster the careers of existing employees is the best course of action. That said, enterprises will have to choose for themselves how best to proceed.
