June 12, 2023: According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 1 in 700 new-borns in India is born with cleft lip and cleft palate; nearly 35,000 children are born with this condition annually.

The starting medical cost of a cleft surgery is approx. INR 25,000, which poses a challenge for low-income families. DeliverHealth, in partnership with United Way Bengaluru, supported 27 cleft surgeries in Varanasi for children belonging to low-income families.
78% of the beneficiaries are infants below the age of 2 years, thereby reducing disability-affected life years and helping the children integrate into society at the earliest possible age.

Under the CSR intervention, the overall development of 50 girls was supported, including their nutrition, education support through stationery, books, uniforms, etc., and counselling as well as the maintenance of the shelter home and capacity building of the staff from Sanrakshan. The shelter home takes care of victims of child abuse, child marriage, child labour, and other social issues.

“There is a need to bridge the gap in India’s widening gap in affordable healthcare. We are glad to have been partnering with DeliverHealth for the past few years and leveraging their CSR support to reach out to socially and economically backward communities and empower them by making health facilities available and accessible, ” said Rajesh Krishnan, CEO of United Way Bengaluru.

Towards promoting higher education for underprivileged students, DeliverHealth also provided scholarships to Engineering & Diploma students from economically backward communities. Last year, 63 students were covered, and this year 47 students (including 32 new students) from Bengaluru & Mysuru were supported. Volunteers from DeliverHealth proactively got engaged in the scholarship program by participating in the beneficiary selection, conducting interviews and finalizing the candidates for awarding the scholarship.

Italian GP podium challenge ends in disappointment for Marquez

Italy, 12th June 2023 Another valiant ride from Marc Marquez went unrewarded as he fell while hunting a top-three finish, walking away disappointed but unharmed.

Marc Marquez once again lined up on the front row of the grid as the 23-lap Italian Grand Prix loomed. Temperatures had steadily risen throughout the day and Saturday’s afternoon downpour was nowhere to be seen as the Italian tricolore was painted in the sky.

The start of the race was aggressive from the top five as everyone jostled for position into the first corner, Marquez holding his own and slotting into fifth. Joined by brother Alex Marquez, Jack Miller and Luca Marini, the quartet traded places over the course of the opening laps with Marc Marquez taking any opportunity to fight for a gap. The #93 and Marini eventually managed to open a small gap over the others as they sparred for third.

Unfortunately, a moment entering the final corner would see Marquez lose the front in Turn 15, tumbling out of the race on lap six. Hugely disappointed, Marquez was unharmed in the fall and now begins to prepare for the Sachsenring and better fortunes.

“Today I was riding really well and with some margin, I was feeling comfortable and not stressed. I saw Bagnaia and Martin had escaped so I focused on staying with Marini in that group and try to achieve my goal of the top six or seven. I had a moment at Turn 10 on the first lap and then again going into the last corner before I fell. Right now we need to keep improving and keep working. Fortunately, I was not injured in the crash today and we have another race next week so it gives us a chance to keep working.”

City’s Pharma and Packaging entrepreneur Chakravarthi AVPS appointed Senior VP of FOPE

FOPE also has been instrumental in conducting seminars, workshops, and symposiums on regulations, the latest developments in the pharma industry, challenges meeting customer demands, and so on. Chakravarthi has spent more than two decades in Brand India Pharma promotion in national and international platforms, echoing ethical practices, supporting all sustainable initiatives, and promoting international trade and business relations not just in pharma & life sciences promotion, but also in patient-centric drug delivery, Co Mfg (packing), innovative pharma packaging, etc. He was awarded ‘Pharma Ratna’ for his contribution to the pharmaceutical industry.

Mr Chakravarthi AVPS is also a Global Ambassador of the World Packaging Organisation and has 38 years of overall experience in Paper, Paper boards, packaging, and sustainable initiatives. Awarded as the most influential leader in packaging for his constant promotion of packaging as a growth driver and for promoting the cause of packaging globally in multiple fields.

Chakravarthi is also active in several industry associations being a Board member, international committee, FABA (federation of Asian Biotech Associations); Board member and Advisor for Pharma & Life Sciences CII Telangana; honorary advisor for pharmaceutical export promotion council, Govt of India

Hyderabad, 12th June 2023..….A Hyderabad Runners Initiative, an 8-week Hyderabad Runners Outdoor Kids Summer Camp 2023 concluded in the city at Dhulapally on Sunday. It concluded with a 4km run organized at Telangana State Forest Academy, Dulapally. Eight hundred kids in the age group of 6 to 12 years participated in this 8weeks summer camp held at 21 locations in Hyderabad. The training locations were public parks like KBR Park, and Botanical Garden and various large residential communities like PBEL City, Aparna and My Home Group residential complexes.

To promote physical literacy among needy kids this unique program was also extended to kids in two Govt schools School —MGN School Filmnagar; NBT School Banjara Hills and Chotuu Ki Education (NGO) school in Miyapur and Jedimetla.

It was organised by Hyderabad Runners, a renowned Not-for-profit society dedicated to promoting running, active lifestyle, and well-being in the community, and is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of its Outdoor Kids Summer Camp Program. The program, designed to foster outdoor physical activity, learning, and fun, proved to be a resounding success, leaving a positive impact on the participating children.

The Outdoor Kids Summer Camp was held from 17th April 2023 to 11th June 2023. It was aimed to provide children with a unique opportunity to engage in outdoor activities, develop essential running skills, and cultivate a love for an active lifestyle. Under the guidance of experienced runners (volunteers, facilitators) and physical fitness trainers, the camp offered a range of activities that encouraged physical fitness, teamwork, group activities, and personal growth.

The camp was meticulously planned. The kids were immersed in a variety of engaging activities, including outdoor games, sports, nature walks, team challenges, interactive workshops, and awareness campaigns with respect to civic sense toward a better tomorrow. The program focused not only on physical fitness but also on nurturing mental well-being, and instilling values of resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Recognizing the importance of providing equal opportunities for all children, Hyderabad Runners have expanded its Summer Camp Program to include underprivileged kids who may not have access to such enriching experiences. Through this initiative, the organization aims to empower these children, inspire them to embrace an active lifestyle and create memorable summer moments.

A total of 150 underprivileged kids from Miyapur, Jeedimetla, Banjara Hills; Sheikpet govt/NGO-run schools participated in this program. All kids were rewarded with T-shirts, Sports Shoes, and School Bags for attending the program.

We are delighted with the overwhelming response and the positive impact of our Outdoor Kids Summer Camp Program, said the program in charge from Hyderabad Runners. Our goal was to provide children with a memorable summer experience that combines physical activity with valuable life lessons.
