Axis Bank Unveils ‘One Axis CSR Vision’ at Abhisaran 2025, Commits to Impact 2 Million More Households

Nagpur, March 2025: Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector banks of India, hosted Abhisaran 2025, a multi-stakeholder engagement for its partner NGOs and the leadership team of Axis Group, to unveil One Axis CSR Vision, a unified approach towards social impact across the Axis ecosystem. The event marked a significant milestone in the Bank’s CSR journey, celebrating the successful completion of its ‘Mission2Million’ initiative and launching the ‘Mission4Million’ initiative towards supporting an additional 2 million vulnerable households by fostering sustainable livelihoods, financial empowerment and skill development.

Abhisaran 2025 delved deeply into Axis Bank’s seven core CSR themes— Disaster Relief, Education, Environment, Financial Inclusion, Healthcare, Livelihoods and Sports. It demonstrated the Bank’s approach of combining strategic macro-level perspectives with grassroots insights to create meaningful and sustainable impact. Through these initiatives, the Bank has extended its reach to nearly 530 districts across India, touching some of the remotest and vulnerable communities and regions in the country.

Himachal Pradesh Government and Crack Academy Launch Collaborative Initiative to Shape Future Careers

Himachal Pradesh; 4th March 2025: In a landmark collaboration aimed at expanding access to quality education, the Himachal Pradesh Government has joined hands with Crack Academy to launch a statewide competitive examination for students and job seekers. The state’s CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched the “Mere Shehar ke 100 Ratan” programme with an aim to provide free coaching for various competitive exams to 6,800 students across Himachal Pradesh.

Under this initiative, Crack Academy will offer free coaching to 100 meritorious students from each assembly constituency, with an estimated investment of Rs. 34 Crore. While the next 200 students will be given a 75% concession, and the following 500 students will receive a 50% concession. This collaboration is a larger-than-life opportunity that aims to drive social change through education across the state.

Set to take place in mid-April 2025, this initiative will provide thousands of students with an opportunity to participate on a bigger platform, allowing them to evaluate their strengths, gain personalized career guidance, and unlock pathways to success in competitive exams. This initiative represents an inclusive movement toward equal access to education, breaking geographical and financial barriers that often restrict students from rural and remote areas from competing at a national level. With a limited number of seats available, Crack Academy encourages early registration and ensures that students do not miss out on this transformative opportunity to shape their academic and professional futures.

Through this partnership, students will benefit from personalized training and expert mentorship provided by leading educators, helping them refine their skills and excel in competitive exams. Additionally, students will receive exclusive study materials and resources, carefully curated to enhance their exam preparation. To further support their academic journey, Crack Academy plans to establish over 90 coaching centres, directly employing 5,000 people, while creating additional indirect employment opportunities. In addition, the academy will also invest Rs. 1.5 Crore in renovating and maintaining the library at Ridge, Shimla.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the broader impact of this initiative, stating, “This initiative will not only benefit talented students but also generate employment opportunities in the State. CRACK Academy plans to establish over 90 coaching centers, directly employing 5,000 people while creating additional indirect employment.”

Historic T20 International Tri-Series for Deaf Kicks Off in New Delhi, Hosted by IDCA

New Delhi: March 4th, 2025, The much-awaited T20 International tri series for the deaf kicked off with a grand inaugural ceremony at Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi on 2 March 2025. The International deaf cricket teams of India, South Africa and Australia will be contesting in the action-packed tri-series hosted by the Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) from 2 to 8 March 2025.

The Indian deaf cricket squad, selected by the All-India Men’s Selection Committee, is led by the captaincy of Virender Singh. The Men in Blue geared up for the major tournament with extensive training and practice sessions under guidance of Coach Dev Dutt and Assistant Coach Susheel Gupta. Coach Dev Dutt expressed confidence on the seasoned cricketers of the Indian squad and extended gratitude to IDCA for their support in organizing and hosting the series.

Speaking about the tournament, President of IDCA, Sumit Jain, said, “This tri-series holds special significance as it showcases the true spirit of the game and will be a nail-biting contest between the deaf cricket teams of three major cricketing nations. The T20 International tri series commenced with the opening match between India and South Africa and will feature six league matches before culminating in an exciting final on 8 March 2025. Following the Tri-Series, the Indian Deaf Cricket team will be playing a 3-match ODI series with Australia from 10 to 12 March.

Air India Enhances Tokyo Connectivity with Move to Haneda and Expanded Codeshare with ANA

GURUGRAM, 04 March 2025: Air India, India’s leading global airline, today announced a significant upgrade to its non-stop services between Delhi and Tokyo. Beginning 31 March 2025, Air India will operate its 4x weekly flights from Delhi to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND), replacing its existing services to Narita International Airport (NRT), to provide passengers faster and more affordable access to central Tokyo.

Complementing the shift to Tokyo Haneda, Air India also announced an expanded codeshare agreement with its Star Alliance partner, All Nippon Airways (ANA), to provide Air India guests convenient onward connections from Tokyo Haneda to 6 other major cities in Japan. This builds on Air India’s existing codeshare and interline agreements with ANA.

Faster access to downtown Tokyo

Air India’s strategic transition to Haneda Airport, located 18 km from downtown Tokyo, cuts travel time to Tokyo Station from nearly one hour by road (70 km from Narita) to approximately 30 minutes. This not only saves valuable time for passengers but also offers more cost-effective transportation options, enhancing the overall journey experience.

“Moving our flights to Haneda Airport is a significant advantage for our guests – it brings them much closer to the centre of Tokyo. With this shift, we are not only connecting two vibrant capitals more effectively but also helping boost trade and tourism between India and Japan”, said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India.

Expanded codeshare with All Nippon Airways

Subject to due regulatory approvals, beginning 01 April 2025, Air India will place its ‘AI’ designator code on ANA’s flights between Tokyo Haneda and 6 other cities in Japan: Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo. This will allow Air India guests to travel to any of these destinations on a single ticket, with their baggage checked through the entire journey.

Reciprocally, ANA will place its ‘NH’ designator code on Air India’s flight between Delhi and Tokyo Haneda, Delhi and Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune, enabling their customers seamless access to Air India’s robust domestic India network.

Air India and ANA first signed a codeshare agreement in April last year, which allowed Air India to codeshare on ANA’s Tokyo Haneda-Delhi and Tokyo-Narita-Mumbai flights, and ANA to codeshare on Air India’s Delhi-Tokyo flights.

Commenting on the codeshare expansion, Nipun Aggarwal added, “Our deepened partnership with ANA opens up Japan like never before for our guests. By providing easy access for our guests to ANA’s domestic Japan network, combined with ANA’s reach into Air India’s extensive Indian network, we’re creating a stronger bridge between our two nations—making travel simpler and truly rewarding for our common guests.”

“To promote increased exchange between Japan and India, ANA is expanding its codeshare partnership with Star Alliance partner Air India to enhance its network,” said ANA’s Executive Vice President of Alliances and International Affairs, Katsuya Goto. “This expansion, with a focus on the increased codeshare options from Delhi to six destinations within India, will provide customers with more opportunities and seamless connections, delivering a satisfying experience for premium customers in particular. This is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to provide a superior travel experience for customers flying between Japan and India.”

Passengers of both airlines flying on codeshare flights will enjoy premium services such as lounge access and priority boarding that Star Alliance offers to its premium members.

Growing tourism to Japan

According to Japan National Tourism Organization, 233,000 Indians visited Japan between January and December 2024, a 40% increase from the previous year, underscoring Japan’s growing appeal as a travel destination for Indian tourists.

Suzlon Enhances Partnership with Jindal Renewables, Increasing C and I Order by 204.75 MW

Pune, India: Suzlon has secured a third order of 204.75 MW from Jindal Green Wind 1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables, further accelerating the Low CO₂ Steel revolution in India. This partnership is also now Suzlon’s largest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) order with a cumulative capacity of 907.20 MW. Earlier, Suzlon secured two orders to power Jindal Steel’s plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, adding 702.45 MW of wind energy. Currently, C&I customers account for 59% of Suzlon’s total order book, which has now reached a record 5.9 GW — the highest in the company’s history.

 In this new order, Suzlon will supply 65 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT), each rated at a 3.15 MW capacity.

 The energy generated will be utilized for captive consumption in steel plants located in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, enhancing their operational sustainability and contributing to India’s green energy transition.
