Amity University Maharashtra Celebrates the Milestones of the Graduating Class of 2024

Mumbai, Maharashtra, 20/02/2024 – Amity University, Mumbai, held a memorable convocation ceremony for the Class of 2024 on Tuesday, celebrating the exceptional achievements of 1,505 graduates, 178 medal winners and 32 PhD recipients. The event, held at Shree Shanmukhananda Hall, marked a significant milestone in the students’ academic careers, as they were recognized for their excellence in academics, research, and community service.

 The ceremony also included the presentation of prestigious awards, including the Best All-Round Student Trophies and the 34 Gold, 35 Silver, and 15 Bronze medals. The Shri Baljit Shastri Award and Dr. K. Ashok Chauhan Scholarship were also presented, recognizing the hard work and dedication of students who excelled academically and contributed to the community.

 The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) A.W. Santhosh Kumar, followed by a speech from the Chancellor, Dr. Aseem Chauhan, who highlighted the university’s dedication to shaping future leaders who are not only academically proficient but also socially responsible. He also added, “The achievements of our graduates reflect their hard work, determination, and the strong academic foundation they received here at Amity.”

 The convocation was further distinguished by the conferment of honorary degrees by Chancellor, Dr. Aseem Chauhan and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) A.W. Santhosh Kumar to three outstanding industry leaders who have made significant contributions in their respective fields:

 Mr. Nand Khemka, Chairman of SUN Group, delivered a keynote address that deeply inspired the graduates, urging them to embrace challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering determination. He emphasized the importance of imagination, having a clear purpose in life, and developing resilience in the face of adversity.

 Mr. Romal Shetty, CEO of Deloitte, also gave a motivating speech, encouraging students to embrace discomfort, uphold integrity, stay adaptable, and continue learning throughout their careers. He stressed the importance of staying true to one’s values while striving for excellence in all pursuits.

 Mr. Yann Leroy, the internationally renowned architect, delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech that resonated deeply with the students. WorkIndia Reveals 81% Surge in Construction Job Seekers, Engineering Jobs Double Amid India’s Infrastructure Push

National, February 20th, 2025 – WorkIndia, a leading platform connecting job seekers with employers, has witnessed significant hiring growth in the construction sector during the year 2023-2024. The sector has witnessed an 81% increase in candidates choosing construction as their preferred field, highlighting its growing appeal among job seekers. Within the sector, the preference for architect roles surged rises, while those opting for engineering roles doubled, indicating a shift towards structural and infrastructure-driven careers.

One of the most notable trends is the substantial surge in hiring for architects, with a growth of 35%. This reflects the rising need for skilled architects in the country’s booming infrastructure and urban development sector. In contrast, interior design roles, including interior designers, witnessed significant declines, with interior design roles dropping by 100% and interior designers seeing a 99% fall. These shifts indicate a transformation in the types of talent needed as the construction sector focuses more on structural and engineering advancements.

The engineering sector saw extraordinary growth. Engineering roles surged by 216%, driven by the growing demand for civil, site, and construction engineers. This massive increase reflects the expanding infrastructure projects across the country, particularly in key cities and emerging urban areas. Tier 1 cities, such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune, saw an increase in demand for construction professionals ranging from 32% to 51%. Tier 2 cities also experienced significant growth, with hiring demand rising by 25% to 68% for roles such as engineers and architects. Most notably, Tier 3 cities reported an exceptional 132% increase in demand, pointing to the rapid development of smaller cities and towns.

WorkIndia’s data further highlights the dominant presence of young professionals in the construction sector. Most candidates selecting construction as their preferred industry fall within the 20-30 age group, with a strong concentration in the 22-24 range. Notably, 24-year-olds alone accounted for 9.11% of candidates, reinforcing the role of a younger, dynamic workforce in driving industry growth.

TVARAN 2025: A Star-Studded Celebration at NMIMS Navi Mumbai

SVKM’s NMIMS Navi Mumbai Campus organized their annual cultural fest TVARAN 2025. This 3-day celebration of TVARAN started on the 13th of February and will end with an energetic and soulful concert by Ash King himself on the 15th of February. Organized by the cultural committee of NMIMS Navi Mumbai and the students themselves, this event experienced an interesting lineup of events ranging from Fashion to Bollywood resonating with the theme of ‘ Fusion of Eras’.

The very first day of TVARAN covered events like Dance and singing and ended with an energetic DJ night. While the next day had unique events relating to Bollywood, this day also was graced by a well-known TV actor, Ketaki Kulkarni herself. The same day also was Valentine’s special when HimanshuChavan, a singer known for his melodious love songs did a concert on 14th of February.

The third and final day of TVARAN was a blockbuster with Ash King, a new-gen singer who has great love and worship among the youth. Ash King has given his best hits from ‘TeAmo’ to ‘Bandook Meri Laila’ to the industry.

Adding to the excitement, Dr.MukundTripathi, Head of TVARAN, said “we were delighted to share that over 30 faculty and staff members performed on February 14th. IIHMR University Champions AI-Powered Innovations for Future Health Management at Global Forum

The conference focused on Transformative Solutions for Managing Global Health and brought experts from various domains under one roof to engage in thought-provoking discussions. Dr. P.R. Sodani shared that at the conference, thirteen organizations interested in promoting global health management research agenda signed an MOU with IIHMR University Jaipur. A panel discussion by globally renowned academicians explored the Future of Health Management Education, including industry-centric curriculum enhancement, technological advancements, and promoting research for program management and policy planning.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Subodh Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, talked about the Anthropocene era – a time when human activity was reshaping our planet more than natural forces. From climate-induced health crises to the rapid integration of AI in healthcare, we must act responsibly to ensure a sustainable future. He added that technology is advancing at an unprecedented rate, but will AI serve humanity or dictate its course? We must regulate AI before it regulates us”.

Maj Gen (Prof) Atul Kotwal, Executive Director, National Health Systems Resource Centre, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India, said, “As we discuss the transformational changes required in our healthcare system, it is crucial to acknowledge our progress and challenges. Strengthening primary healthcare, reducing out-of-pocket expenditure, and ensuring resilient health systems remain key priorities. Technology plays a vital role, but true transformation goes beyond digital solutions: it requires policy reforms, community engagement, and sustainable implementation. Let us continue to work towards a future where equitable healthcare is a reality for all.”

Dr. S.D. Gupta, Distinguished Professor at IIHMR University, Jaipur, shared, “What we require now is high-quality healthcare that is accessible and available at affordable price. For this, we already have the global mission of universal health coverage. And then there is another mission, which is the Sustainable Development Goals. One of the transformative solutions that has been enforced is Ayushman Bharat, and the result is that the out-of-pocket expenses have gone down tremendously and significantly. Another important aspect is human resource development. Building their capacity, skilling them, and reskilling them are important.

In the valedictory session, Dr. Sudhir Bhandari, Pro-Chancellor of Jaipur National University, Jaipur, and Professor Emeritus, SMS Medical College & Attached Group of Hospitals, Jaipur, shared, “Healthcare is no longer limited to hospitals and clinics. Digital health, AI-driven diagnostics, telemedicine, and global collaborations redefine healthcare delivery. Embrace an interdisciplinary approach, which is the need of the hour. Sustainability is the future of healthcare and must be inclusive at all levels. Every innovation and policy we create should address disparities, ensuring no one is left behind”.

Dr Himadri Sinha, the conference’s organising secretary, presented the conference report and shared that the deliberations were held in four tracks where more than 50 speakers and research scholars made their presentations. The conference concluded on a high note with an award ceremony, during which eight presenters were awarded certificates and mementoes for best paper and poster presentation. In the end, the cultural performance was organised for all the delegates.
