Patna, Aug 8: Bihar has taken another step towards expanding its agricultural exports with the first sea shipment of GI-tagged Mithila Makhana to Australia, opening a new overseas market for farmers and businesses involved in the crop.

The shipment marks an important development for Bihar’s makhana sector, which supports thousands of farming families and has traditionally depended largely on domestic markets.
