New Delhi, Aug 11: The iconic patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’ will be performed at the Red Fort during India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations on August 15, giving this year’s national ceremony added historical significance as the song marks 150 years since it was written.
The Defence Ministry has announced that the song will be performed as part of the Independence Day programme during the flag-hoisting ceremony at the historic Red Fort.
