Calicut, August 13: Calicut FC deeply mourns the sudden passing of its Club Secretary, Bino Jose Eapen (54), earlier today in Kochi. He was scheduled to leave for Argentina later in the day to scout for potential players for the third season of the Super League Kerala football tournament.
Bino had served as Club Secretary since inception and was a driving force behind Calicut FC‘s vision of building a professionally managed football club and a stronger football ecosystem in India. The club achieved several important milestones, including winning the inaugural Super League Kerala (SLK) title, while earning recognition for its professional approach and progressive outlook.
A passionate advocate of the relationship between a club and its supporters, Bino championed several pioneering fan-engagement initiatives in Calicut, helping bring the club and its community closer together.
Beyond football, Bino was Vice President of IBS Group and had an association with IBS spanning nearly 27 years. His long professional journey was distinguished by commitment, professionalism, and an ability to bring people together—qualities that also became integral to his leadership at Calicut FC. He believed deeply in the potential of Indian football and in building institutions that could inspire future generations. Bino‘s sudden passing is an immense loss to Calicut FC, its players, staff, supporters, and the wider football community. His vision, values, and contribution will remain an enduring part of the club‘s journey.
Calicut FC extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. The funeral service will be held in Thiruvananthapuram.
