New Relic Unveils Industry’s First Intelligent Observability Platform

Bangalore– November 4, 2024 – New Relic unveiled the New Relic Intelligent Observability Platform, transforming observability from ensuring uptime and reliability into a key driver of business growth and developer velocity for enterprises worldwide. The platform is strengthened by the New Relic AI Engine to predict and prevent issues, and streamline business and IT operations with automation. With new innovations like the New Relic AI integration with GitHub Copilot, New Relic Pathpoint, and New Relic Retail Solution, New Relic Intelligent Observability bridges the gap between observability best practices and tangible business outcomes.

New Relic Intelligent Observability marks the third wave of observability—dynamic, agentic, and impactive,” said New Relic CEO Ashan Willy. “With macro trends of data explosion, AI, and a need for business and developer velocity, current observability platforms fall short. Observability must evolve to dynamically understand ever-changing environments, agentically automate operations, and show how system performance drives business impact. Intelligent Observability is the future of digital business and we’re taking the first step toward this future for our customers.”

Agentic AI Engine predicts issues and unlocks intelligent recommendations to prevent problems

New Relic Intelligent Observability is strengthened by a sophisticated AI engine that predicts potential issues before they arise, assesses impacts, and makes intelligent recommendations to help prevent problems. The AI Engine combines two leading approaches: compound AI and agentic AI. The compound AI system uses multiple AI models, agents, and tools to tackle many types of complicated tasks. Meanwhile, agentic AI reduces the toil on developers by completing tasks and automating workflows, even with external tools. And through the natively integrated New Relic AI assistant experience, anyone—from seasoned developers to business analysts—can simply ask questions in plain language and get instant insights.

New Relic and GitHub Copilot Agentic AI integration increases developer productivity

Developers rely on frequent code changes to innovate quickly, but code changes are also the leading cause of software incidents. To help deliver software at scale with greater confidence, the new integration between New Relic AI and GitHub Copilot dynamically evaluates changes across the digital ecosystem. The two AI agents work together to detect issues from code changes and address them directly in the integrated development environment (IDE). This real-time response eliminates time-consuming manual processes and reduces the risk of code changes. As a result, organizations can boost developer productivity and improve software quality for the millions of organizations who rely on GitHub for software delivery.

New Relic Pathpoint and Retail Solution advance business observability

As businesses navigate economic pressures, the demand for business observability grows. The New Relic 2024 Observability Forecast found that 69% expected to deploy business observability by 2025, with 87% expected to adopt it by 2027.

New Relic Pathpoint connects digital estate insights with business KPIs, making observability accessible to roles beyond technical teams—from customer support to business and financial leaders. Enhancements to Pathpoint include:

No-code user journey modeling: For example, a media streaming company can build a custom user journey model without coding, which tracks user engagement from content discovery to playback, allowing personalized content recommendations and improved service quality.

Playback mode: New playback for understanding historical performance and supporting root cause analysis.

ML-enhanced business insights: New Relic alerting and anomaly detection provides an at-a-glance perspective on incidents and drill-down capability for rapid recovery.

New Relic Pathpoint is also a key component for the New Relic Retail Solution that combines relevant platform capabilities such as Session Replay, Synthetics, Mobile Monitoring, User Journeys, and New Relic AI. The New Relic Retail Solution connects all retail touchpoints, whether on-site or online, to ensure retail leaders get a complete view of their hybrid business.

“Intelligence is the next essential evolution in observability. As businesses aim to capitalize on future business opportunities, they are using AI to run autonomous operations and connect system insights to business health,” said IDC Group Vice President Stephen Elliot. “This evolution places agentic AI agents with additional analytic methods at the center of operational excellence, innovation, and growth.”

Internships play a pivotal role in nurturing students by transitioning them from academic environments to professional success

Shweta Sastri, Managing Director, Canadian International School, Bangalore

In today’s rapidly shifting educational and economic landscape, it’s essential for students to be prepared to navigate the complexities of evolving technologies and industry demands. As the gap between academic learning and professional readiness narrows, internships have emerged as a crucial component in equipping students to be ready for success. Schools are uniquely positioned to facilitate early-stage internships, providing students with invaluable hands-on experience that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. These internships play a pivotal role in nurturing students by transitioning them from academic environments to professional success, outlines Shweta Sastri, Managing Director, Canadian International School, Bangalore.

WHY INTERNSHIPS ARE VITAL FOR STUDENTS’ CAREERS

Gaining Industry-Specific Skills and Training

Internships are instrumental in helping students develop specialised skills relevant to their chosen fields. Through these experiences, students gain a deeper understanding of industry operations and are evaluated on their performance, work ethic and fit within a company’s culture. This feedback allows students to make informed decisions about their career paths post-education. By investing in interns, companies have the opportunity to shape future professionals who align with their goals and values, acquiring both technical skills and professional interaction expertise.

Introducing Fresh Perspectives and Innovation

Interns often bring innovative ideas and new perspectives to organisations, informed by the latest academic knowledge and trends. Student interns’ enthusiasm and fresh viewpoints can challenge existing practices and drive creative solutions. Additionally, internships contribute to workforce diversity by including students from varied backgrounds and educational experiences, enriching the company’s culture.

HOW SCHOOLS PREPARE STUDENTS FOR INTERNSHIPS

Integrating Internship Training into the Curriculum

Schools play a crucial role in preparing students for internships by challenging them to undergo professional skills training as a part of their curriculum. Courses or modules focused on communication, collaboration, time management and problem-solving are essential. Peer study groups and mentorship further enhance students’ confidence and readiness to work. Formal internship placement programmes, where schools partner with companies to secure relevant internships, not only nurture classroom engagement but may also offer academic credit, integrating these experiences into the broader educational framework.

Facilitating Networking Opportunities

Networking is vital for securing internships and building professional relationships. Schools can greatly benefit from organising events and industry panels to connect students with professionals in their fields of interest. In addition to learning from experts about the opportunities of various career paths, these opportunities are crucial for accessing internships and establishing connections that can lead to future job prospects. Speaking with industry professionals also helps students understand the journey of learning and how non-traditional paths can lead to success.

Familiarising Students with Career Choices

Internships expose students to a range of knowledge that doesn’t just focus on immediate goals, but instead on skills and opportunities that may be beneficial in the future. Success is a relative term. Professional experience compliments education in helping students realise whether their chosen profession actually interests them in reality or not. They have the opportunity to talk to other professionals who may be pursuing a career in a field that is miles apart from the subjects they chose to study, bringing the understanding that landing on a career may not be a straight line and they may need to embrace non-traditional paths.

Internships play a pivotal role in empowering students to make better, informed choices about their path of study and career plans, and of perhaps choosing subjects that may not be directly related to their current career choice – thus helping them become well-rounded individuals.

Providing Feedback, Evaluation and Mentorship

Schools also ensure that students reflect on their internship experiences, fostering self-assessment and growth. This reflection, combined with feedback from mentors, helps students navigate challenges, maximise their internship experience and plan for future career goals. Mentorship programmes offer guidance and support throughout the internship, contributing to students’ professional development and preparedness.

Schools can be instrumental in preparing students for future readiness by equipping them with essential skills, resources, and support. By integrating internships into their educational framework, schools help students gain real-world experience, boost their confidence, and make a smooth transition from academic life to the professional world. This comprehensive approach is key to ensuring that students are well-prepared to thrive in their future careers.

Empyrion Digital accelerates growth with expansion into Taiwan

SINGAPORE and TAIPEI Nov. 4, 2024 – Empyrion Digital, a next-generation digital infrastructure platform, is pleased to announce its strategic expansion into Taiwan to develop a 7MW (IT Load) edge co-location data centre in Neihu, Taipei. With 10MW of power already secured, this move comes at an opportune time when Taiwan’s energy grid is facing power shortages, creating potential challenges for other new data centre entrants.

Located in Neihu, a key technology business district of Taipei which is home to the headquarters of gaming, electronics and tech companies, the Taipei data centre (TW1) is strategically located in a network dense area where east and west cable landing stations converge. TW1’s latest design aims to cater to the needs of both cloud and high-performance AI computing which current legacy data centres are struggling to accommodate.

As one of the most populous Northeast Asian economies, Taiwan is home to over people and best known for being a fast-moving technology and R&D hub, and semiconductor powerhouse. Taiwan is also emerging as a key data centre hub in North Asia and its data centres being the critical infrastructure enabling cloud and AI, is expected to generate co-location revenue  in 2024. This growth is projected to reach by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 8.88% during the forecast period (2024-2029).

Traditionally, the Taiwan co-location market is mainly driven by domestic demand but there has been an uptick in demand from international cloud, content providers and enterprises entering the market. With limited supply coming onboard over the next few years, Empyrion Digital’s entry into Taiwan is primed to meet this increased inbound demand, including those from the banking and financial sectors, given the sensitivity and security requirements of this sector.

Another key differentiator of TW1 is its focus on sustainability. By adopting the use of advanced cooling technology and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), TW1 will achieve a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rating of 1.33 or lower and a Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) of close to net zero. Upon completion, TW1 will also receive Taiwan’s Green Building Gold Certification, reinforcing Empyrion Digital’s status as a leader in sustainable digital infrastructure.

Mr. Mark Fong, CEO of Empyrion Digital, said: “We are excited to expand into Taiwan and this investment is another step forward in the company’s ambition to grow in Asia where land and power are scarce. With its robust semiconductor industry and tech-savvy talent pool, Taiwan is a strategic location for us to build the next generation of AI-ready data centres. Our presence here will ensure that businesses in Taiwan have access to the digital infrastructure necessary to stay competitive and foster deeper collaboration between Taiwan and global technology ecosystems.”

He added, “TW1 will add to our existing data centre cluster in Singapore, Korea and Japan, ensuring we are well-positioned to capture wholesale and edge co-location demand and empower our customers with flexible deployment solutions across the four markets.”

Little Footprints Preschool: Over 4,000 Children Participate in Annual SSDB Community Service Initiative

SINGAPORE, Nov. 4, 2024- The children of Little Footprints Preschool (LFP) have been on a mission to do good in the community. Smiles and high-fives were seen as grateful community workers received the care packs from the centre’s children. Six-year-old Giselle Ng said, “I felt happy giving out the care packs to the drivers who deliver food to our house. I want to show our appreciation to them for being kind to me and my family!”

Meanwhile, promoting inclusivity and empathy was the theme of LFP Admiralty’s project. They welcomed a guest speaker from the Down Syndrome Association (Singapore), who gave the children an informative talk and storytelling session about Down syndrome. Joanna Rebecca, Principal of LFP Admiralty, emphasised that the centre has consistently prioritised teaching children the values of empathy and fostering a connected society.

The LFP Jurong East 248 preschoolers turned their attention to animal welfare with their “Wild but not Free” project in partnership with Acres. During the interactive session, the children learned about the detrimental impacts of animal poaching from Acres’ educator and created posters to encourage people to halt animal poaching. “Animals should be in the wild, not cages!” declared six-year-old Koo Yu Zac.

Rowena Mark Ramos, Head of Curriculum at Babilou Family Singapore, the parent company of LFP, expressed her pride in the students’ achievements, stating, “SSDB aligns perfectly with our mission to nurture caring, conscientious leaders of tomorrow. We are incredibly proud of our children for leading the way to make a difference.”

Through these projects, LFP aims to nurture a generation of compassionate and environmentally conscious leaders who can someday give back to the community.
