MP Clears INR 3,458-Crore Seoni-Balaghat Highway Upgrade to Boost Connectivity

Bhopal, Aug 25: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved a ₹3,458-crore project to upgrade the Seoni-Balaghat road into a four-lane corridor, giving a major push to connectivity and infrastructure development in the region.

The project is expected to make travel between Seoni and Balaghat faster, safer and more convenient, while improving the movement of commercial vehicles and goods.

The upgraded corridor could also benefit rural communities by providing better access to markets, transport networks and essential services. Improved connectivity is expected to support agriculture, trade and other local economic activities.

In another key decision, the state government plans to seek a ₹4,600-crore loan from NABARD to finance other development projects.

The proposed investments underline Madhya Pradesh’s focus on strengthening road infrastructure, improving regional mobility and supporting long-term economic growth.

Once completed, the Seoni-Balaghat four-lane corridor is expected to provide better transport connectivity and stronger economic links across the region.
