Mahindra Finance & IBM collaborate to drive financial inclusion with Super App

Mumbai, 13 February 2024: IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited (Mahindra Finance) today announced a strategic collaboration to build a super app that would serve as a single digital interface for consumers to access multiple businesses within Mahindra Finance.

This app will enable consumers from both metros and non-metros to have 24×7 digital access to avail and manage products & solutions in a secure, streamlined, and simple manner. This would be by housing Mahindra Finance’s various vehicle and non-vehicle lending businesses, including personal loans, enterprise loans, mortgage loans, leasing solutions, payments, fixed deposits, insurance solutions, and other investment & wealth management solutions under one roof. The app will further provide superior and immersive experiences to the customers of Mahindra Finance and strengthen the company’s position as the financial solutions partner of choice for emerging India.

The jury comprised of academicians from prestigious institutes of the country and distinguished industry experts who closely evaluated all the projects based on criteria such as creativity, innovation, utilization of science and technology, scalability, cost effectiveness and potential societal impact. The initiative’s success underscores its alignment with the “Scientific Social Responsibility” agenda taken up by the Department of Science and Technology, GOI.

Last year, vivo Ignite, Science and Innovation Awards recognized ten National Winners from over 2000 entries for their impactful projects, awarded cash prizes totalling over INR 25 lakhs.

Honda India Foundation (HIF) launches Project Buniyaad- Aathmanirbharta Ka AadharImphal, 13 February 2024: Taking a giant stride in its commitment to community support by empowering the youth of the society, Honda India Foundation (HIF) along with the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission and Visan Foundation launched “Project Buniyaad – Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhar” that aims at

providing employment to the unemployed youth from the marginal sections of the society. The project plans to establish four distinct foundations of collaboration with Honda India Foundation being the funding partnerState Government being the Infrastructure and Mobilization Support partnerVisan Foundation being the Training partner and all the leading hotels and hospitals being the Placement partner. It aims to provide 100% job placement to the youth from the North-eastern states in the hospitality sector. 

The project was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N Biren Singh, in the august presence of Shri Vinay Dhingra (Trustee, Honda India Foundation) along with other dignitaries from Government of Manipur at Classic Grande Hotel, Imphal with more than 100 Participants.

Additionally, the seasonal nature of some hospitality jobs and the industry’s sensitivity contribute to periods of unemployment. Addressing these challenges requires a combination of supportive training programs and strategies to enhance the sector’s adaptability. To address these obstacles, Honda India Foundation (HIF) has taken the inaugural move. By providing targeted training programs tailored to the needs of the hospitality industry, Project Buniyaad not only meets the demand for skilled workers but also empowers young people in the region to pursue fulfilling careers.

Under this program, unemployed youth will receive two months training from Visan Foundation in Hospitality Management post which a certification will be provided from Tourism & Hospitality Skill Counsil.

Goa Tourism’s Pavallion Highlights Regenerative Tourism & Ekadasha Teertha Campaign at OTM 2024 Mumbai, 13, February 2024: At the OTM 2024 at Mumbai, Asia’s premier travel trade show, Goa Tourism stood out by showcasing the state’s pioneering role as the first to launch Regenerative Tourism in the country.

At OTM over 35,000 industry professionals and buyers l connected with more than 1600 exhibitors from 60 countries and 30 Indian States & Union Territories. Over three days, from February 8th to 10th, OTM is showcased a sold-out event, emphasizing a commitment to fostering quality networking and connection. The exhibition spans two separate floors of over 250,000 sq. ft, including 35 country pavilions.

NIQ-GfK drives dialogues on Tech Disruption, Data Culture and GenAI in Consumer-Centric Era

NIQ-GfK ‘Leaders Pulse Poll’ reveals the high confidence of business leaders in the economy.

During the session, NIQ-GfK conducted a live ‘Leaders Pulse Poll’ to gauge the perspectives of senior leaders on their confidence in the state of the economy, investment opportunities, future growth drivers, and their stance on the data-driven decision-making maturity curve. Notably, 60% of senior leaders said that they are embarking on their data-driven decision-making journey, while only 26% are at the forefront of the maturity curve.

The poll results reveal that 3 in 5 senior leaders said they have high confidence in the current state of the Indian economy. Moreover, the results indicate ‘Customer Experience & Satisfaction’ and ‘Adaptability to evolving consumer preferences’ as paramount factors for business resilience in today’s consumer-centric era.

Key Insights from the NIQ Consumer Outlook & GfK Global CMO Report

On the occasion, Mr. Mathur shared insights from the GfK Global CMO Outlook report, revealing that 33% of senior marketers globally struggle to connect data from diverse sources, and 29% encounter resistance to changing approaches within their organizations. These are significant challenges, but they are not impossible to solve.

Quoting The NIQ Consumer Outlook 2024 report, Mr. Mathur added that manufacturers that innovate are 1.8 times more likely to boost overall sales. Notably, 63% of global consumers expressed a willingness to buy products that have been innovatively crafted to be as cost-effective as possible.

AI Adoption and Integration: Imperative for Success

Talking about how emerging technologies are going to be a significant disruption, Nikhil Mathur, Managing Director – India at GfK – an NIQ Company, said, “AI isn’t new; it’s already a part of our lives as brands, manufacturers, and consumers. However, like any technological advancement, it goes through denial, experimentation, and eventual adoption. Some adopt it early, while others wait and see.”
