With Rising Academic Excellence and a Historic Cultural Legacy, Bhopal Emerges as a Premier Learning Destination

Abhishek Mohan Gupta, President of the Board of Management at Shrewsbury International School India says, the city’s reputation for academic excellence, lower cost of living and exceptional quality of life have made it a perfect fit for the prestigious Shrewsbury brand

In an era of rapid technological and socio-economic changes, world-class education is essential for innovation and bridging skill gaps. The rising demand for quality education worldwide indicates a growing interest in contemporary and holistic teaching pedagogies.

In its ‘States of Fragility’ 2022 report, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) highlights, “Investments in human capital can be a source of resilience over the long term and help ensure the well-being of future societies, especially in countries with large youth populations.” This is particularly true for India, which has the largest youth demographic. Mirroring this emphasis on human capital development, international residential schools have experienced a significant increase in enrollment numbers – most notably at Shrewsbury International School India – the first Indian campus of the esteemed Shrewsbury School UK – which now attracts students not only from across India, but also from the US, UK, UAE, Nepal and Bangladesh.

The school starts its first academic session from August 8, 2025 in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, a state which is poised to emerge as India’s next education powerhouse.

Already home to a wealth of universities and colleges, Madhya Pradesh is all set to accelerate its research and innovation with the launch of Prime Minister’s Centres of Excellence across all 55 districts.

“Shrewsbury International School India could not have found a better home than Bhopal. Our campus not only represents the global aspirations of Indian students, but is also a tribute to the state’s future-forward education policies. The city offers a well-connected central location and a rich cultural heritage. It is already home to nationally-reputed institutes such as AIIMS, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) and Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), and the establishment of Shrewsbury will further enrich this academic ecosystem, setting new standards for holistic learning,” says Abhishek Mohan Gupta.

The school has been in the news recently for its state-of-the-art 150-acre campus with purpose-built facilities for academics, sports, performing arts and residential living. “Shrewsbury in India will forge an exceptional learning environment with a commitment towards integrating the rich cultural values of India with the best of British independent education. All activities and offerings at the campus deeply reflect our vision to impart whole-person education to every pupil who joins the Shrewsbury family,” says Dominic Tomalin, the Founding Headmaster at Shrewsbury International School India.

“Our emphasis on character building and cross-cultural learning is drawing a lot of attention. The pastoral system, unique to Shrewsbury, prioritises not just academic excellence but mental and emotional well-being of pupils. Our wider school community is supported by dedicated staff consisting of mentors, housemasters, housemistresses, tutors and counsellors, thereby creating a support system where all students feel wholly nurtured,” says Peter Willett, the Deputy Head of Pastoral at Shrewsbury.

Reiterating that Madhya Pradesh is the perfect alternative for those looking for high-quality and affordable learning alternatives, Abhishek Mohan Gupta says, “The state’s reputation for academic excellence and lower cost of living has made it a perfect fit for the school. We envision each of our students truly experiencing an international culture without having to leave the country.”

Galgotias Students Launch ‘Artistica’ to Connect Artists Globally

Galgotias iOS Development Students Build “Artistica” — A Creative Platform that Connects Artists Worldwide

Noida, 2nd July 2025:- For four B.Tech CSE students of Galgotias University — Aditya Kumar Gupta, Aida Sharon Bruce, Prateek Kumar Rai, and Roshan Karn — the desire was extended beyond just writing code. It was about building a community. Their app, Artistica, was created out of a personal desire to support other artists and provide a platform for artists to connect, inspire, and grow.

Born From Shared Passion, Built to Inspire

Artistica began as a class project at Galgotias University’s iOS Development Centre but quickly evolved into something far greater. Rooted in personal journeys, the team drew from their own lives — from rediscovering forgotten passions to celebrating family legacies — to build a platform that transforms the belief in the power of art into a vibrant digital canvas.

For Aditya, Artistica was a way to give back by building something meaningful. Sharon envisioned a creative sanctuary where hidden talents could emerge and flourish. Prateek, inspired by his mother — a school principal and once an aspiring artist — was driven to ensure that talent, no matter how long dormant, would always have a stage. And for Roshan, Artistica became the perfect bridge between his love for technology and his desire to make a lasting, practical impact.

The spirit behind Artistica perfectly echoes the vision of Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, who believes in empowering students to think boldly, innovate, and create solutions that truly make a difference in the world.

A Home for Every Creator

More than just an app, Artistica is a thriving, welcoming community that supports artists from all walks of life as they showcase their work, network with other creatives who share their interests, and develop their craft. The well-thought-out features of Artistica, such as the Explore section for finding new artists, the Community area for networking, and the Weekly Challenges to inspire creativity, tackle the actual issues that up-and-coming artists face: undervaluation, isolation, and creative blocks.

Supportive Mentorship at Every Step

Under the direction of Galgotias University’s iOS Development Centre, which was founded in February 2024 in collaboration with Apple and Infosys, the team was given hands-on training, continuous guidance, and rigorous direction. From early ideation to optimising UI/UX and getting ready to scale the platform after launch, faculty assisted them in navigating the technical and creative processes.

More than an App — a Movement

With the support of their startup, Artistico Nest Pvt. Ltd., the four founders hope to transform Artistica into a movement that honours creativity rather than merely an app. Each brushstroke, drawing, or design that is shared on Artistica is a narrative, a challenge, and a moment of happiness. And all users will find their people, whether they are seasoned pros or aspiring artists.

A Platform Powered by Purpose

As they keep improving Artistica, these young founders embody Galgotias University’s overarching goal of equipping students to have an impact in the real world. Artistica is evidence that when passion, skill, and mentoring are combined, the outcome can spur change well beyond the boundaries of the university — perfectly aligning with Dr Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Galgotias University vision of empowering students to innovate with purpose and drive positive change across communities.

Galgotias University Students Bring Playtime to Life with AR App ToyVista

Two B.Tech CSE students from Galgotias University – Madhav Sharma and Ansh Kalra loved the magic of play – ended up redefining the experience of toy shopping. Driven by the passion to enhance the process of shopping and make it more engaging and enjoyable for both parents and children, came up with a unique idea of toy selection – ToyVista.

A Breakthrough Idea, Brought to Life

Madhav and Ansh learned to harness Apple’s powerful ARKit and RealityKit frameworks during their time at Galgotias University’s iOS Development Center. With enriching guidance and support from industry experts and mentors, they developed an app that lets users see realistic 3D models of toys in their homes before making a purchase. Do you want to know if a toy would go well with a favourite teddy bear or fit on the bookshelf? You may see it in real time on ToyVista.

Immersive Shopping with a Personal Touch

In addition to their creative instincts, the two tech-savvy founders of ToyVista envisioned the app as a fresh, engaging toy store experience — one that was as fun as it was functional. Every feature was thoughtfully tested with real families, ensuring the app met the needs of both children and parents. The result? A playful and intuitive interface that transforms toy shopping into a shared journey of discovery, making the app feel less like technology and more like magic. This vision is perfectly aligned with the mission of Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, who champions student innovation and encourages solutions that make a tangible, positive impact on society.

A Launch That Sparked a Startup

ToyVista was developed entirely at Galgotias’ iOS Development Center in order to transform the ecommerce into an immersive experience. The app is deployed under Lunisight Techno Pvt. Ltd., a startup incorporated by the student developers themselves. In addition to their achievements, they saw ToyVista as a model for other students who aspire to develop significant goods at the nexus of creativity and imagination.

ToyVista serves as a powerful reminder that, with the right ecosystem of learning and support, even a college project can evolve into a product that delights real-world users. This achievement perfectly reflects Dr Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University mission of empowering students to innovate fearlessly and create solutions that make a meaningful impact on society.
