3 July 2024: byteXL, a leading EdTech platform in India dedicated to revolutionizing engineering education and IT skills, has announced a strategic partnership with tech giant Microsoft to launch a B.Tech program specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) at GLA University, a premier institute with a NAAC A+ ranking. This program will also be offered at GLA University in Mathura.

As part of this collaboration, byteXL will act as the executing agency for the program and deploy Microsoft Certified Trainers to deliver the curriculum on campus. With a jump of 7percent this year, IIM Kashipur’s new cohort has 42percent female students

Kashipur, July 2nd, 2024: The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, one of the leading B-schools in India, is playing a pivotal role in bringing gender parity in male-dominated classrooms of business education.

In its flagship courses, IIM Kashipur has recorded 42% female representation in the 2024-26 cohort overturning the gender equation of the campus that had admitted around 35% female students last year – a surge of seven percent in one year.

The new cohort of 2024-26, which was inducted last week in a three-day-long inauguration and orientation program, IIM Kashipur has admitted 196 female students out of a total of 471 students enrolled in its flagship course – Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Administration – Analytics (MBA – A).

The MBA – Analytics cohort has 75% female students this session surpassing last year’s tally of 69% female candidates.

On the academic diversity front, the new batch comprises 37% of students from engineering backgrounds and 33% from commerce. Over 12 % come from science, 6% from arts and the remaining 11 students are from various backgrounds like medical, communication, and others. While the overall work experience of the batch is 13 months.

Prof. Abhradeep Maiti, Chairperson of Admissions, highlighted that not only is the institute successful in attracting next-generation leaders, but IIM Kashipur has also successfully conducted the 2024 Common Admission Process (CAP 2024).

On bridging the gender diversity gap, he said, “IIM Kashipur has seen exponential growth in female students in the last couple of years. From 11% female students in 2019, the new batch has 42% female students.”

As far as geographical diversity is concerned, the new batch has representation from 28 states, the highest from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh which recorded 63 students each.

IIM Kashipur’s director-in-charge, Prof. Somnath Chakraborti said, “Our students are our brand ambassador. The efforts we put in our students are paying off and not just the female representation, the number of applications is growing every academic year. I welcome all the students and thank them for making it to the IIM Kashipur campus.”

He highlighted that the first-generation IIM that took decades to come to this stage, IIM Kashipur has done so in 13 years. “From gender to geographical diversity, ranking to tie-up with foreign colleges and universities, IIM Kashipur is making all efforts to become the top 10 IIMs of the country.”

Apart from MBA and MBA Analytics, 15 candidates were enrolled in the doctoral program out of which four are female.

Welcoming the new students, the Chief Guest Raj Shekhar Joshi, Vice Chairman of SETU Aayog Uttarakhand underscored the importance of leadership, technology, and the evolving role of think tanks and spoke on the challenges of digital transformation.

He said, “Identify the four key elements for successful management: authentic leadership with purpose, Collaborative Leadership, use of technology and energy or attitude.”

SETU Aayog stands for State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (SETU) established by the Uttarakhand government replacing the Planning Commission of the state and modeled on lines of NITI Aayog.

Emphasizing the role of institutes like IIM Kashipur in contributing to significant and positive changes in India, he spoke on the challenges of the “Amritkal Period,” underlining India’s emergence as a world leader.

He also pointed out the importance of think tanks in policymaking and their roles in bridging connections between cities, states, and rural areas.

The inaugural program of the new batches (AY 2024-26) of MBA, MBA (Analytics), and Doctoral (PhD) programs of IIM Kashipur started with an orientation session conducted by the Institute between 27th to 30th June 2024, to assimilate new entrants with the academic and social life of the Institute.

From Singapore to Europe, DPS Indirapuram’s Students Embark on an Enticing Educational Tour

DPS Indirapuram organized two international tours for its students to broaden their cultural and educational perspectives. The two trips covered Singapore, Malaysia, and the iconic sites in Europe. The students immersed themselves in each destination’s rich traditions and vibrant atmospheres, from the bustling cities to their architectural marvels.

Students ventured to Singapore and Malaysia from 31st May to 7th June 2024, experiencing seven days of cultural discovery, educational enrichment, and culinary delight. They marveled at iconic landmarks such as Marina Bay, Little India, and Chinatown in Singapore. Exciting adventures at Sentosa Island, Universal Studios, and the serene Gardens by the Bay left lasting impressions. In Malaysia, the group explored Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur, enjoying luxurious stays and visiting notable sites like the Batu Caves and KLCC Tower. Seamless travel and scenic drives enriched their journey. Meanwhile, visits to educational hubs like the NeWater Visitor Centre, URA, Stem Workshop, Batik Painting Session, and cultural landmarks added depth to their experience.

Another group comprising 19 students and 2 teachers embarked on a 9-day educational tour across Europe from 10th June to 19th June 2024. The trip covered Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. The journey included a guided bicycle tour of Munich, a visit to the BMW museum, and an exploration of Innsbruck and the Swarovski Crystal World in Austria. The group also visited a cuckoo clock factory and the Rhine Falls en route to Zurich. The students enjoyed excursions to Mt. Titlis and Lucerne in Switzerland, and the tour concluded in Paris with visits to the Eiffel Tower, a Seine River Cruise, and a day at Disneyland Paris.

World University of Design’s Students Champion Sustainable Fashion at Delhi Times Fashion Week

1st July 2024  Delhi, India  In a vibrant celebration giving a platform to creatives and sustainability, twenty-two talented students from the School of Fashion at World University of Design dazzled audiences at the Delhi Times Fashion Week recently. Held at the prestigious venue, The Grand Vasant Kunj, the event featured renowned designers and fashion labels including the iconic Narendra Kumar from Mumbai. The central theme of WUD’s showcase, “Sustainability in Fashion,” set the stage for a stunning presentation of upcycled secondhand garments. Embracing this ethos, students infused bold, contrasting colors and creative geometric shapes into their designs. Tasked with minimizing waste, they utilized at least 97% of the chosen garment’s materials, aligning with the imperative for sustainable practices in the face of global challenges.

Chitkara University Partners with Wipro Limited to Establish Centre of Excellence for Enhanced Industry Training and Employability

28th June 2024 Chandigarh, India  Today, Chitkara University, a leading multi-disciplinary educational institution in Chandigarh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro Limited, a leading technology services and consulting company. The MoU will facilitate the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the University Campus. The CoE aims to provide industry-specific training, equipping students with critical skills and significantly improving their employability for future industry opportunities.

The CoE will focus on engaging with students through pre-skilling training, targeting those from the 5th to the 8th semesters of eligible engineering branches. The program will commence with Wipro hiring assessments for interested students in the 5th semester. Shortlisted students will participate in a credit course in the 6th and 7th semesters, designed by Wipro’s competency team. Successful course completion will lead to Wipro’s selection process, with students receiving a Letter of Intent (LOI) and internship opportunities upon passing the 7th semester.

This collaboration builds on the long-standing association between Wipro and Chitkara University, where Wipro has been recruiting engineering students through campus recruitment drives for nearly two decades.
