Greater Noida, 6th February 2024: Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR, India’s youngest Institution of Eminence (IoE), successfully concluded its three-day Genomics India Conference 2024 (GIC2024), that aimed at highlighting the latest research, technologies, breakthroughs, challenges, and strategies in understanding the genomics. Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India graced the event as its Chief Guest.

More than 500 renowned leaders in genomics from the US, UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific participated in the three-day conference. The event featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Nobel laureates, leading researchers, government officials, and regulatory experts. Notable highlights included the workshop on next-generation sequencing (NGS) analytics and Genome Informatics Programme, providing attendees with practical insights into crucial topics such as NGS data QC, alignment/assembly, annotation, variant calling, interpretation, and reporting.

Genomics is the emerging science of understanding the human genome. It deals with the analysis of gene and genome and determines how the DNA in every human being affects individuality, health and disease. While genetics helps to know how some disease conditions are inherited in families. Profound analysis of complex diseases like asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc are performed by genomics studies because a combination of genetic and environmental factors causes these problems than just an individual gene.

Hyderabad, 6th February 2024 – KLH Hyderabad and The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) recently organized a three-day Capacity Building Workshop for the personnel of Jan SikshanSansthan (JSS), which was a crucial event aimed at boosting skill development in rural regions. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills and capabilities of the Jan Sikshan Sansthan personnel, focusing on empowering them with the latest tools and techniques in skill development.

The collaboration between KLH Hyderabad Campus of KL Deemed to be University and IRMA covered a wide range sessions, from an engaging field visit to the IIIT Incubation Centre, which showcases innovation and entrepreneurial endeavors, to discussions on many aspects of development with a focus on inclusivity and sustainability. Key issues facing the development industry were covered in informative courses on time management, digital and social media marketing, financial inclusion, and stakeholder management. The Jan SikshanSansthan (JSS) staff members collaborated and grew closer after participating in a team-building exercise, and their note-taking and drafting abilities were refined for efficient documentation.

Jan Sikshan Sansthans play an important role in imparting vocational training and skill development programs in rural areas, contributing significantly to the government’s vision of a skilled and employable workforce. Under the leadership of Dr. Hippu Salk Kristle Nathan, Workshop Coordinator and Ms. Moxa Y Thakkar, Program Manager from IRMA, the workshop coordinator, participants from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Telangana convened. Prof. Prasad Gollanapalli, widely known as ‘Sarvodaya’ Prasad, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session. The course addressed a few important facets of professional development aimed at improving the JSS staff members’ competencies.

Among the top recruiters were Reliance Brands, Tata, Airtel, Max, ABinBev, Ogilvy, Dentsu, Elexi, Leo Burnett, Hettich, Shahi Exports, Payal Jain, Satya Paul, Thence, Sankul, and the Government of Bhutan.

Engaging in thrilling matches across various sports, including skating, shooting, football, athletics, badminton, basketball, and kabaddi, the championship captivated audiences and showcased the city’s vibrant sporting culture. With a balanced participation of 64% male athletes and 34% female athletes, the championship celebrated inclusivity and diversity, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among participants.  

The success of the 1st edition of the SFA Championships in Delhi reflects the commitment and dedication of young athletes, schools, support of the sporting infrastructure teams, in promoting sports and inculcating a spirit of healthy competition. This collaboration is strategically designed to introduce specialized certification courses addressing the dynamic needs of the Financial and Technology Sectors. During the MoU Signing Ceremony convened at the campus of IIM Sambalpur, Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur and Abhilash Misra, Chief Executive Officer, NSE Academy Limited signed the pact.

Galgotias University’s commitment to ethics is further demonstrated through its Centre for Ethics, established with the overarching objective of rebuilding and reenergizing an Ethical India (Naitik Bharat). The Centre for Ethics endeavours to reconstruct ethical values in society, institutions, business, government, and public and private life, while also promoting lasting movements for building an Ethical India. With the aim to establish a centre for higher learning in ethics and conduct research in the field, create awareness to prevent corruption, and design academic courses in ethics at higher levels. Additionally, the centre organises interactive lectures, training programs, webinars, and seminars on ethics, along with publications and efforts to create an ethical environment in educational institutions.

SAI International School successfully hosts the 4th edition of SAI Global Debate with participation of 300 students from 41 schools across 6 countriesMumbai 30th January 2024: SAI International School, a distinguished CBSE board school in the country, proudly organized the 4th edition of the SAI Global Debate on Saturday, 27th January, 2024, showcasing an outstanding commitment to fostering critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills among young learners. This remarkable online debate competition garnered an exceptional response, with an impressive turnout of over 300 participants hailing from 41 schools across 6 countries, namely Kenya, Oman, UAE, Uganda, Pakistan, and India. 

The SAI Global Debate, conceived by Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, Founder Chairman of SAI International Education Group, aims to cultivate a community of confident communicators and critically enlightened global citizens who are ready to shape a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable future for all.

This year’s world-class debating forum placed special emphasis on promoting awareness and facilitating in-depth discussions on two pivotal themes: “Sustainable Goals – Marching Towards Real Development” and “Artificial Intelligence and the Next Century.”

The grand opening ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Ms. Alison Barrett MBE, Director, British Council India, as the chief guest. The event also featured Ms. Marion Kenny, an eminent Scottish Storyteller, as the keynote speaker, along with Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson, SAI International Education Group, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

 In her speech, Ms. Alison Barrett MBE, Director, British Council India, said, “I am delighted that you are all here and debating on important issues like sustainable development, climate change and artificial intelligence. These are critical issues that we take seriously around the world. There are various ways in which India and the UK can work together to create local solutions to these global issues. Last week, I was at the Conqueror Book Fair with some of the amazing writers and speakers from the UK, including Roma Agawam, one of the original designers and structural engineers of The Shard, the tallest building in the UK. I met Dr Robert Potts also, who is an expert in AI. It was a great experience to hear them talk about the importance of collaboration between universities, young people, generations, and people from different generations, as collaboration is the most crucial thing to make a difference in the world.”

Dr. Silpi Sahoo, Chairperson, SAI International Education Group, commended the large and enthusiastic group of young adults and remarked, “It is heartening to see such a large and enthusiastic group of young adults engaged in sharing opinion on global issues, coming together to find solutions to problems through constructive debate and an exchange of ideas.”
