Gurugram, 24th July 2023 The School of Law at GD Goenka University proudly inaugurated its state-of-the-art new facility, the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall, in a grand ceremony held on the university campus today.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the former Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipak Mishra, along with distinguished guests, Senior Adv. (Dr.) Ms. Pinky Anand, Cyber Law expert, Adv. (Dr.) Pavan Duggal, and Mr. A.C Kher, Former DIG (Prison, Tihar Jail) and AOR, Supreme Court of India. The ceremony was directed by Mrs. Renu Goenka, Hon’ble Chancellor, GD Goenka University.

The Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall stands as a testament to the School of Law’s commitment to excellence in legal education and provides a remarkable platform for law aspirants to hone their skills for the future of law. Bengaluru, 20th July, 2023: NMIMS Bengaluru School of Law, one of the leading law schools in the region, recently conducted its orientation program for the incoming batch of students joining the BA LLB and BBA LLB programs. The orientation program aimed to familiarize the students with the institution, its values, and the academic curriculum, setting the stage for their successful journey ahead.

In the current academic year, both the BBA LLB and BA LLB programs have shown a higher enrollment of female students compared to male students. In the academic year 2022-23, the BBA LLB program had a total of 37 students, with 10 male and 27 female students. Similarly, the BA LLB program had a total of 53 students, with 22 male and 31 female students. Moving on to the academic year 2023-24, the BA LLB program enrolled 50 students, including 14 male and 36 female students. The BBA LLB program for the same year had a total of 55 students, with 21 male and 34 female students. The numbers indicate a positive trend towards gender diversity and inclusivity in the field of law and business administration. It is encouraging to see a balanced representation of genders, which contributes to a more diverse and enriching educational environment.

The orientation programs included informative sessions on various subjects, delivered by experienced faculty members, with a focus on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum. The week-long schedule encompassed topics such as economics, history, political science, law of torts, sociology, legal methods, general English, finance, marketing, management, business environment, and philosophy. The sessions also included briefings on placement, moot court society, anti-ragging, sexual harassment, library rules and regulations, and examination guidelines. The counseling team and psychologist provided valuable insights and support to the students.

The Chief Guest at the special event was Mr. Spandan Saxena. Armed with impressive work experience and expertise in the legal field, he has made invaluable contributions in the areas of venture capital, investment transactions and legal due diligence. The University of Dundee, in collaboration with the Karnataka State Higher Education Council and British Council, recently celebrated the outstanding achievements of students who participated in the Transforming Lives: Karnataka, Dundee & Beyond competition. As a result of their exceptional work, the winning team from the University of Agricultural Sciences designed and developed a low-cost, solar-based automatic irrigation system and were presented with their award by Consul General of India in Edinburgh, Shri. Hyderabad, July  2023…..: As part of IIITH’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations, the International Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Hyderabad celebrated its Founders Day here on its Campus at Gachibowli in a late evening function on Friday.

Ms. Debjani Ghosh. the President of NASSCOM joined virtually. Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Govt of Telangana graced along with Prof Raj Reddy, founding and present chairman of IIITH’s governing council.

The event, which was attended by industry leaders included the felicitation of IIITH’s 6 corporate founding partners namely IBM, Oracle, Metamor, Microsoft, Motorola, and Satyam, interesting conversations around research trends, and a showcase of emerging technologies.

The vision was to build a dedicated institute that would focus on technology learning and research with very strong industry partnerships. The pedagogy was designed to prepare students with experiential learning and entrepreneurship approach. Overall I think the lack of legacy combined with the innovative governance model that was available in the PPP model tremendously helped us. And while India now has 20 IIITs, IIIT Hyderabad is the only institution where Nasscom is a founding partner and we are very proud of this association, this partnership, and the journey that we have been on together. It is just fantastic to see what this institute has achieved over the past 25 years under the leadership of Prof. Raj Reddy, Prof. P J Narayanan, and the entire team”.

Mr Jayesh Rajan while addressing 250 plus gathering said the State Government is also immensely benefited from IIIT Hyderabad. It is a jewel in our crown, he said. He added that the State had made tremendous progress in the last 9 years, unlike any other state in the country. He asked three things from IIITH. Leverage your quality education for the benefit of 256 engineering and other colleges in the state. The second thing he asked was to work with Government, on societal problems and solutions. The third thing he asked was to make the excellency of your faculty available to other colleges, industries, and society at large.

Prof Raj Reddy spoke about education and research. IIIT H is known for project-oriented learning, learning by doing. This is going to be the center of learning in the future. The future of education is going to be the Waterloo Model. This model allows partly to study and partly to work.

Mr. Srini Raju, Governing Council member spoke about Vision 2050. He said it is neither the government nor the private institute. It is truly a public institute. This education model had a ripple effect and a lot of institutions have come up with this model. IIITH has been successful in the past 25 years in giving good and quality engineers to industries he said. He urged corporates to join in its journey.

Prof P.J Narayanan, Director said IIIT is a public institute. It is the institute by the society, for the society, and of the society.
