Quality Power Secures Strategic Order for Microsoft Data Centre Project in Finland

Sangli, Maharashtra, 22 July 2025 :: Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd., a global provider of high voltage power products and power quality solutions, has secured a significant export order exceeding INR 10 crore from a leading European customer for the supply of dry-type Shunt Reactors for a hyperscale data centre project in Finland.

This order marks a key milestone in Quality Power’s expanding role in supporting power infrastructure for mission-critical digital facilities. Modern data centres, particularly in colder European geographies, are placing increasing emphasis on grid stability, reactive power control, and power factor correction. The dry-type air core Shunt Reactors being supplied under this contract are engineered to mitigate voltage rise and manage reactive power flows under light load conditions, thereby ensuring steady voltage levels at the point of interconnection with utility grids.

The selection of Quality Power’s advanced coil technology for a hyperscale European data centre underscores the company’s technical competence and growing brand recognition in global markets. These reactors are designed in line with IEC 60076-6 and applicable data centre resilience standards and are particularly suited for continuous duty in sensitive environments where oil-filled equipment may not be preferred due to fire and environmental considerations.

The reactors will be manufactured and tested at Quality Power’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001- certified coil facility in Sangli, India. Execution activities shall will commence immediately.

Amazon continues its focus on empowering India’s AI talent, launches fifth edition of its Machine Learning Summer School

India, 22 July, 2025: Amazon India today announced the fifth edition of its flagship Machine Learning (ML) Summer School (MLSS), reinforcing its commitment to nurturing talent and bridging the ML skill gap in India. The 2025 edition aims to enroll 3,000 of India’s brightest students, selected through a qualifying assessment. Registrations will be open from July 21 to 31, 2025 and the program will commence in August 2025. Delivered virtually over four weekends, this immersive and free learning experience includes eight expert-led modules on core topics such as Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, LLMs, and more. Each session includes a live Q&A with Amazon scientists, enabling participants to deepen their understanding of core ML topics.

Since its inception in 2021, the program has trained close to 10,000 students through a blend of hands-on training, and real-world applications, and guidance from Amazon’s top ML scientists. Following its success in India, the program expanded  globally – launched in Australia in 2023, and recently introduced in the EMEA region under the name “Amazon Science Campus.” These international editions have been tailored to meet the unique needs of students across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, reinforcing Amazon’s long-term vision of fostering future-ready talent in machine learning and science worldwide.

“At Amazon, we believe that true innovation begins with access to knowledge, mentorship, and opportunity,” said Rajeev Rastogi, Vice President, Machine Learning at Amazon. “The ML Summer School is more than just a training program – it’s a launchpad for aspiring talent to build, experiment, and grow in the evolving world of AI and ML. As we launch the fifth edition in India, we remain committed to democratizing machine learning education and empowering students to become the next wave of ML leaders.”

The program curriculum aligns with industry trends and university coursework, making it accessible for students across different levels of ML proficiency. Upon completion, students will have developed solid foundations in cutting-edge ML applications, preparing them for high-impact roles in the ML space.

A recent AWS commissioned Access Partnership study, “Accelerating AI Skills: Preparing the Asia-Pacific Workforce for Jobs of the Future”, AI-skilled workers in India can see salary increases of up to 54%, with 93% of employers prioritizing AI-trained talent. Yet 79% struggle to find the right talent. The report also highlighted a significant training gap, as 91% of Indian employers lacked clarity on how to implement AI learning programs internally. Amazon’s ML Summer School helps address this gap by offering accessible, high-impact training designed to align with industry demand. The curriculum reflects real-world needs and was carefully crafted by Amazon ML scientists based on evolving global trends.

Naman Bansal, a participant from the MLSS 2024 batch, shared his experience, “I attended the Amazon Machine Learning Summer School Program lin 2024. “I am deeply impressed by the artistic vision and technical brilliance of Naresh Kumar Kumawat. His sculptures do not just reflect mastery in form but also narrate India’s deep-rooted cultural values and history,” remarked Shri Kovind, the 14th President of India, during his visit.

72% vote for traditional mithais over international desserts in weddings reveals scandalous Foods survey

While tiramisu, cheesecakes, and brownies may grace the dessert counters at today’s lavish weddings, it’s the age-old jalebi, rabri, and kulfi that continue to steal the show. According to a new insight-driven report by Scandalous Foods, India’s fast-growing B2B innovator in preservative-free Indian sweets, a resounding 72% of wedding guests prefer traditional Indian desserts over international confections.

The report, which draws from internal catering observations and wedding service insights, highlights how the emotional connection with mithai—rooted in memory, culture, and celebration—still outweighs the allure of Western treats in high-stakes social gatherings.

Jalebi with Rabri emerged as the star dessert, with over 50% of guests going back for second servings, making it the most repeated indulgence on the buffet. Gulab jamun followed closely, while kulfi—a hit across all age groups—was noted for its “pre- and post-meal” appeal. These findings speak volumes about the enduring power of nostalgia on the Indian palate.

“Weddings in India are deeply emotional events, and dessert choices reflect that sentiment. People may admire a tiramisu, but they return—again and again—for jalebi with rabri or a kulfi that reminds them of childhood. At Scandalous Foods, we believe that tradition isn’t just surviving—it’s thriving, and we’re here to reimagine it for the modern palate without losing its soul.” said Sanket S., Co-Founder, Scandalous Foods.

The report also debunks the idea that weddings are becoming photo ops for food. When asked whether desserts are chosen more for Instagram than actual indulgence, the answer was clear: people eat what they crave, not what’s trending on social media. “In fact,” the spokesperson added, “since people are so well-dressed at weddings, it’s the clothes that dominate the photo ops—not the food.”

A trend to watch? Mithai sundaes and shots in dessert glasses, predicted by Scandalous Foods as the next big thing in wedding sweets. These compact, aesthetic servings may bridge the gap between tradition and modern plating, offering nostalgia in a contemporary avatar.

With wedding menus evolving faster than ever, Scandalous Foods’ latest data underscores a simple truth—emotional comfort, cultural memory, and repeat value matter more than novelty when it comes to dessert. For brands in the F&B industry, the message is loud and clear: the Indian sweet tooth still beats in traditional rhythms, especially when it comes to the biggest celebration of them all.
