Bangalore, 05 March 2024 – Jairangam Fringes 2024, an enchanting collaboration between Jairangam and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, unfolded with unparalleled grandeur and artistic brilliance on the 2nd and 3rd of March, 2024, at Lahe Lahe in Bangalore. This festival, a beacon of cultural exchange and creative expression, showcased a vibrant tapestry of performances, workshops, and theatrical productions, captivating audiences and celebrating the richness of India’s cultural heritage.

The festival kicked off on the 2nd of March with a mesmerizing storytelling performance, “Ishtihaar,” directed by the visionary Deevas Gupta. This unique production presented a collection of short stories by the legendary Saadat Hasan Manto, interwoven with poetry crafted by Deevas himself. Through the raw narration of Manto’s tales and the satirical undertones of the accompanying poetry, audiences were transported to bygone eras while reflecting on the enduring relevance of Manto’s themes in contemporary society.

Children were treated to an interactive and engaging performative workshop titled “Silly Billy Mimes,” led by the talented Suhasini Seelin. Through a series of imaginative exercises, young participants aged 8-12 discovered the art of mime, learning to express themselves through exaggerated actions, emotive gestures, and creative storytelling. Suhasini’s infectious energy and playful approach made for a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.

The festival’s centerpiece production, “Fernando and his Grandmother,” directed by the acclaimed Mayura Baweja of Theatre Shift, Bangalore, enthralled audiences with its evocative portrayal of the life and works of the iconic poet Fernando Pessoa. Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century Portugal, the play delved into themes of genius, madness, and the transformative power of art, offering a moving tribute to Pessoa’s enduring legacy.

On the 3rd of March, audiences were treated to the folk musical “Sakal Jaani Hai Naath,” directed by the talented Srinivas Beesetty of Kahe Vidushak, Bangalore. This delightful adaptation of Vasant Deo’s Sudama ke Chawal offered a contemporary retelling of the timeless tale of Lord Krishna and Sudama, blending tragedy, comedy, and satire to profound effect. ‘Sakal Jaani Hai Naath’ is a testament to the enduring power of mythology and storytelling to illuminate universal truths. Through this adaptation, we sought to challenge conventional narratives and provoke introspection on the complexities of human nature.

Jairangam Fringes 2024, orchestrated by the esteemed 3M Dot Bands Theatre Family Society, unfolded as a celebration of artistic excellence and cultural diversity. Hyderabad, March 05, 2024……City’ s Engineering College, BVRIT will be the host to a unique event called BAJA SAEINDIA 2024. It will feature best of engineering brains. The six days event eBaja category comes first time to South India to Hyderabad in the 17 years history of SAE India. The event will be formally kicked off on Wednesday and will go on till 11th March.

The theme of the event is ‘Multiverse of Mobility’. BAJA SAEINDIA 2024 has introduced two exciting new categories – aBAJA (Autonomous BAJA) and hBAJA (Beginning with CNG and slowly transitioning to Hydrogen Propulsion) alongside the ever-popular mBAJA and eBAJA categories.

The Participating students were tasked to design and fabricate a single seater All-Terrain electric buggy in the boundaries of the rulebook and are required to take part in the trifold evaluation consisting the Preliminary Event, Virtual Event, technical scrutiny, student workshops, static events report submission, etc. which would finally lead up to the finale – BAJA SAEINDIA 2024 Phase-3

The physical round of BAJA SAEINDIA 2024 for the eBAJA category will be held at B V Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), located in the city outskirts near Narsapur, Medak District.

It will be organized by Society of Automotive Engineers, India (SAEINDIA). SAEINDIA is one of the few professional engineering societies in India. SAEINDIA members are in various fields – design, manufacture, test, market, and maintain self-propelled land, sea, air, and space vehicles, their components and systems.

It will be the 17th edition of BAJA SAEINDIA. 70 teams from different Engineering colleges including reputed colleges such as IITs, NITs will participate. Each team comprising 30 team members will participate. On the 2000 plus participants from across the country expected to participate. The event will be the celebration of Engineering, Innovation and Team building.

The event will be hosted by Hosted by Shri Vishnu Educational Society at the B V Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT) at their Narsapur campus, the teams will start arriving by the morning of 6th March and begin with the registration followed by the Technical Inspection, an essential step to ensure the safety of all the buggies entering the competition. Finalists selected from the Static Events held during the Virtual BAJA SAEINDIA 2024 in the Month of December 2023 would be participating in the static finals events and would try their best to score the maximum number of points for their teams.

Over the course of the event, post clearing the technical inspection, the teams will start attempting the dynamic events, which includes acceleration, manuverability, sledge pull, speciality etc. before lining up at the start line of the flagship 4-hour endurance race on the 9th of March 2024.The valedictory ceremony would soon follow to felicitate the top performers and award winners.

New Delhi, March 2, 2024: RSWM Ltd, a leading player in the textile industry, has successfully completed the acquisition of the Spinning, Knitting, and Processing undertaking, previously owned by Ginni Filaments Ltd at 110 KM Stone, Delhi-Mathura Road, Chhata, Kosi Distt. The recently acquired facilities significantly boost RSWM’s production capacity, now boasting over 6.25 Lac Spindles, 5840 Rotors, and 172 Looms. This enhancement allows RSWM Ltd to efficiently meet the escalating demand for textile products in India and overseas. The expansion will lead to a substantial rise in RSWM’s annual product output, comprising 1,21,000 MT Greige Yarn, 24,000 MT Melange Yarn, 32,000 MT Dyed Yarn, 32 M Meters Denim Fabric, over 9000 MT Knits Fabric, and 43K MT Green Fibre.

Mumbai / Shillong, Meghalaya, 2nd March’24: The Meghalaya contingent, led by Shri Bobby Wahlang, Youth Coordinator of Meghalaya, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, returned home after a triumphant performance at the 7th North East Youth Festival held in Agartala, Tripura. The festival, held from February 26th to 29th, witnessed vibrant cultural exchanges and competitions among young people from across the Northeast region.

Faridabad- The Haryana Tourism Department in Faridabad is organizing a half-marathon on March 3, 2024, commencing from Surajkund premises and returning from the Asian Hospital in the city, with BPTP as the titanium sponsor of this marathon. BPTP, a renowned real estate developer from Delhi-NCR, has joined hands with the community to promote fitness and well-being through this marathon. The Chief Minister of the State, Manohar Lal, will be the chief guest at the half marathon and will encourage the runners. Thousands of people will participate in various categories of the marathon. According to Satbir Maan, the CEO of the District Council, medical camps will be set up every 2 km along the marathon route for the convenience of the runners. These camps will also provide runners with facilities like energy drinks and mobile toilets. Volunteers will also be on duty along the marathon route to ensure runners do not face any inconvenience. Police personnel will also be deployed every 150 to 200 meters. Furthermore, students of all schools and colleges in Faridabad and Gurugram have been encouraged to participate in this marathon.
