NHAI to Deploy AI-Powered Dashcam System for Real-Time Highway Monitoring

New Delhi, March 21 (BNP): The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will roll out an AI-powered dashcam monitoring system across nearly 40,000 km of the National Highway network to enhance operations, maintenance, and road safety.

The initiative will use advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies to enable data-driven monitoring of highways and expressways. Specialised dashboard cameras will be installed on Route Patrol Vehicles (RPVs), which will conduct weekly surveys across highway stretches.

Officials said the system will use high-resolution imagery and video data to automatically detect over 30 types of road defects and anomalies. These include pavement-related issues such as potholes, rutting, and cracks, as well as problems with road infrastructure like damaged lane markings, faulty crash barriers, and non-functional streetlights.

NHAI to Deploy AI-Powered Dashcam System for Real-Time Highway Monitoring

The system will also monitor safety concerns and encroachments, including illegal median openings, unauthorised signboards, and improper parking along highways. Night-time surveys will be conducted periodically to assess visibility of road signs, pavement markings, lighting, and reflectors.

In addition, the AI-based solution will track issues such as waterlogging, vegetation growth, and drainage problems, enabling timely intervention and maintenance.

To streamline monitoring, NHAI has divided the network into five zones and will deploy a dedicated IT platform with analytics dashboards and data visualisation tools. The platform will allow comparison of road conditions over time and integrate findings into the central data system for efficient decision-making.

Officials said the move marks a major step towards technology-driven highway management, aimed at improving maintenance efficiency, enhancing road safety, and providing a better travel experience for users across the country.

India on Track for 1 Billion 5G Users, Eyes Global Leadership in 6G: Dr. Pemmasani

New Delhi, March 21 (BNP): Minister of State for Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar on Saturday highlighted India’s rapid expansion in 5G services and outlined an ambitious roadmap to emerge as a global leader in 6G technologies.

Addressing the ET Telecom 5G Summit in New Delhi, the Minister said India is expected to reach nearly one billion 5G users by 2031, underscoring the transformative potential of next-generation connectivity in driving economic growth and digital inclusion.

He attributed the sector’s rapid progress to a series of structural reforms, including the redefinition of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR), removal of Spectrum Usage Charges (SUC), and rationalisation of bank guarantees, which have improved the financial health of telecom operators and encouraged large-scale investments in network infrastructure.

The Minister also pointed to key policy measures such as streamlined Right of Way (RoW) approvals, improved spectrum management, protection of telecom infrastructure, and simplified licensing processes, all of which have accelerated the rollout of telecom networks across the country.

India on Track for 1 Billion 5G Users, Eyes Global Leadership in 6G: Dr. Pemmasani

Emphasising governance reforms, Dr. Pemmasani noted a shift within the Department of Telecommunications towards an outcome-oriented approach, drawing on private sector efficiency. He said the focus is now on speed, accountability, and execution, supported by real-time monitoring and close coordination with stakeholders including service providers, startups, vendors, and state governments.

On rural connectivity, he said nearly 35,000 remote villages are being connected through 4G infrastructure, with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited playing a key role in improving network uptime and strengthening infrastructure in underserved regions.

Highlighting progress under BharatNet, the Minister said the government is investing around USD 17 billion to connect 2.6 lakh Gram Panchayats with high-speed broadband, laying a strong digital foundation for future technologies.

Looking ahead, Dr. Pemmasani said India aims to secure about 10 per cent of global 6G patents and contribute actively to international standard-setting bodies such as 3GPP. He stressed that early participation in global standards is crucial for technological leadership and economic competitiveness.

Citing examples from countries like South Korea, he said early engagement in telecom standards helped companies such as Samsung and LG become global leaders, adding that India aims to replicate similar success.

The Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering innovation through a startup-friendly ecosystem, simplified regulations, and faster certification processes. He noted ongoing efforts to enhance service quality, strengthen telecom security frameworks, and promote indigenous technology development.

Concluding his address, Dr. Pemmasani said India has transitioned from being a telecom market to a global technology creator, driven by collaboration between policymakers, industry, and innovators.

Coralogix and Skyflow Redefine Privacy-Safe Observability for the AI Era

SAN FRANCISCO & BOSTON—March 21, 2026— Coralogix and Skyflow are launching a strategic partnership designed to help organizations safeguard sensitive customer data within logs. This collaboration ensures robust data protection without compromising the ability to perform searches, investigations, or leverage AI-driven operations.

Logs and telemetry play a critical role in debugging, incident response, security analysis, and AI workflows. However, they often contain sensitive customer data, embedded both in structured fields and unstructured text. While many observability tools mitigate this risk through redaction, this approach comes at a cost—eliminating exposure but also stripping away context. The result? Logs become more difficult to query, correlate, and operationalize effectively.

Coralogix and Skyflow take a fundamentally different approach: protect sensitive customer data by default while preserving the usability of observability data across humans and AI systems.

“The traditional approach of redaction creates a false trade-off between safety and usefulness,” said Anshu Sharma, CEO of Skyflow. “Once sensitive data is stripped out, teams lose the ability to search effectively, investigate incidents, or let AI agents reason over what actually happened. As a Runtime AI Data Control Platform, Skyflow ensures sensitive customer data stays governed and isolated, while observability data remains fully usable.”

Ariel Assaraf, Coralogix CEO, said: “Coralogix customers rely on observability data as a trusted system of record—supporting engineers, security teams, and the growing demands of AI-driven automation. They shouldn’t have to choose between safeguarding sensitive customer data and maintaining operational efficiency. By partnering with Skyflow, we ensure they can achieve both seamlessly.”

Why Traditional Approach Falls Short

In conventional observability pipelines, sensitive customer data is simply masked or completely removed breaking functionality:

  • Identifiers no longer match across events
  • Search and correlation degrade
  • AI tools lose critical context
  • Teams introduce risky exceptions to get work done

Instead of permanently removing sensitive values, Skyflow replaces them with consistent, privacy-preserving tokens, allowing logs to remain searchable and analyzable while the underlying data is centrally controlled, access-governed, and auditable.

Data Residency and Sovereignty by Design

Coralogix already enables customers to deploy observability workloads in specific geographic regions to meet data residency requirements. By combining this with Skyflow’s runtime data control capabilities, organizations can continue to meet strict data sovereignty obligations—ensuring sensitive customer data is governed, isolated, and accessed only under policy, while observability data remains local, usable, and compliant across regions. This approach helps organizations operating in regulated or multi-region environments reduce cross-border data exposure while maintaining full visibility and operational effectiveness.

Built for AI-Driven Observability

The joint approach enables organizations to:

  • Keep sensitive customer data out of logs, dashboards, and downstream tools
  • Preserve search, filtering, and correlation across events
  • Enable AI agents to operate safely on telemetry, without direct access to raw sensitive data
  • Allow policy-based rehydration only for approved workflows
  • Reduce data sprawl and strengthen compliance across the observability stack

The result is observability that is privacy-safe by design, operationally effective, and ready for AI-native workflows.
