As we upgrade ourselves with high-tech equipment, including automobiles, the automotive industry has seen significant changes with the advent of automatic vehicles, commonly known as self-driving vehicles. These vehicles rely heavily on advanced technologies like sensors, cameras, and artificial intelligence (AI) to navigate and function autonomously. However, the safety and security of these vehicles are crucial, therefore data annotation tools come in helpful. Data annotation tools are essential for training AI models, ensuring that self-driving cars understand their surroundings and make safe decisions.

To train machine learning models, data must be tagged and classified. This information is mostly acquired from autonomous vehicles’ sensors, which include LiDAR, radar, ADAS, and cameras. BENGALURU, India – November 14, 2024: Samsung India has completed the certification of 3,500 students under the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme for the year 2024.

Aligned with the Government of India’s  SkillIndia and  DigitalIndia initiatives, Samsung Innovation Campus focuses on improving employability of the youth by training them in high-demand tech fields such as AI, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming.

In 2024, Samsung’s flagship CSR initiative expanded its reach by enrolling 3,500 students, up from 3,000 in 2023. It involved 12 SIC certification events organized across educational institutes in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Kochi, India, November 13, 2024 — India IT spending is projected to total $160 billion in 2025, an increase of 11.2% from 2024, according to the latest forecast by Gartner, Inc.

“In 2025, Indian chief information officers (CIOs) will start allocating budgets for generative AI (GenAI) beyond initial proof-of-concept projects,” said Naveen Mishra, VP Analyst at Gartner. “While spending on GenAI will increase, CIOs’ expectations for its capabilities will diminish. Additionally, Indian CIOs are expected to significantly boost spending on technologies such as cybersecurity, business intelligence, and data analytics in 2025 compared to 2024.”

Gartner analysts are discussing the trends that are impacting the IT market during Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo, taking place here through Wednesday.

GenAI-Enabled Solutions to Propel Software Spending in India

Fueled by expansion in both application and infrastructure software markets, software spending in India is projected to record the highest annual growth rate, increasing 17% in 2025 (see Table 1).

“The price premium of GenAI-enabled offerings across customer relationship management (CRM), email and authoring, and analytic platforms will drive software spending, resulting in growth of this segment,” said Mishra.

Gartner predicts that by 2025, more than 50% of application software offerings with GenAI capabilities will carry an associated price premium. Pricing options will continue to evolve through 2025 as buyers are tested for their willingness to pay a GenAI premium.

“Despite the global services market being characterized by cautious spending, macroeconomic uncertainty, and higher capital costs, IT services spending in India is projected to grow 11.4% in 2025,” said Mishra. “Service engagements around cloud, application, and consulting are expected to drive stronger growth in India. Furthermore, GenAI’s role in delivering industry use cases and improving labour productivity will be a key expectation from Indian enterprises in 2025 and beyond.”

“Spending on data center systems in India is projected to total $4.7 billion in 2025, fueled by the rising enterprise need for new infrastructure to support AI integration,” said Mishra. “Data center providers, including hyperscalers, are expanding their footprint in India to meet enterprise demands for increased data storage and computing capacity, while adhering to regulatory requirements, further driving the growth of this segment.”

Bangalore, October 30, 2024 – A 72-year-old Parkinson’s patient has become the first in India to receive a revolutionary brain-sensing device, the Percept RC. This procedure marks a leap forward in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, offering hope to countless individuals battling this debilitating condition.

The patient, who had been enduring persistent symptoms despite multiple medications, underwent Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery.  Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is a surgical treatment that can improve the quality of life for people with movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, Tourette syndrome, epilepsy, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Deep Brain stimulation surgery is similar to pacemaker of the heart. This procedure involves implanting thin wires or electrodes in specific brain regions. These electrodes deliver electrical pulses that help regulate abnormal brain activity, reducing symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, slowness and involuntary movements. A tiny device called a neurostimulator is also implanted under the skin, usually in the chest area.

The first refurbished Embraer cabin is now completed, and the target is to renew the entire fleet of 12 Embraer aircraft by spring 2026. Seven aircraft will be renewed during the winter season 2024–2025, and the remaining Embraer aircraft will be renewed during the winter season 2025–2026.

The Embraer fleet is used on routes to many of Finnair’s destinations in Finland and the rest of Europe, especially shorter routes in Northern and Central Europe.

The colour scheme and atmosphere of the new cabins have been designed to match that of Finnair’s recently refurbished wide-body fleet and Finnair’s new Schengen lounge at Helsinki Airport.

“We wanted to create a harmonious, fresh and inviting travel environment for our customers, with dark blue and grey colours and a hint of wooden laminate – elements familiar from our long-haul aircraft,” says Eerika Enne, Head of Inflight Customer Experience.

“The renewed cabin will feature two new seats. The seats on rows 1– 9 offer a bit of additional comfort thanks to its design and cushioning. The seats in the first rows recline slightly, while from row 10, the seat does not recline. The service concept will remain unchanged in connection with the cabin renewal,” says Enne.

The number of seats remains unchanged, with 100 seats in Finnair’s E190 aircraft as before. In connection with the cabin renewal, lighting was also renewed to LED lighting.

One of the targets of the Embraer cabin renewal has been to reduce the weight of the aircraft, as reduced weight means lower fuel consumption and, thus, lower carbon dioxide emissions. Weight has thus been a consideration for all elements in the cabin.

“Both the Business Class seat and the Economy Class seat are lighter than the previous Embraer cabin seats, and also the cabin carpet is made of a lighter material than before. With these changes, we aim to reduce the weight of the aircraft by approximately 150 kg per aircraft,” Enne notes.
