Apr 8: Odisha has emerged as a leading performer in the implementation of the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, making steady progress in improving urban water infrastructure across the state.

As part of the initiative, seven new water treatment plants with a total capacity of 43 million litres per day have been made operational. These facilities are now supplying cleaner and safer drinking water to nearly 2.83 lakh residents, significantly improving their daily lives.

The progress reflects the state’s strong focus on ensuring reliable water supply in urban areas. With better infrastructure in place, many families are now experiencing improved access to clean water, which is essential for health and overall well-being.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this year’s budget is 7% higher than last year, showing a strong focus on growth and development. He also shared that the 2026–27 budget aims to make Odisha a key logistics and connectivity hub in eastern India.
