HOSMAT Hospitals Marks World Trauma Day with Flash Mob and Police Training

HOSMAT Hospitals Turns World Trauma Day into Action with Flash Mob for Public Awareness & Life-Saving Training for Bengaluru Police at Hennur

Bengaluru, October 18th, 2025: On World Trauma Day, HOSMAT Hospitals took trauma awareness to the streets at Hennur Crossing. A vibrant flash mob drew attention to road safety, urging the public to follow traffic rules, wear helmets, avoid speeding, and protect themselves and others from avoidable injuries.

Doctors from HOSMAT Multispecialty Hospitals conduct a hands-on CPR training session for the officers of Hennur Police Station

Simultaneously, HOSMAT joined hands with Hennur Police Station and conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training camp for police personnel, led by Dr. Shanthi Priya, HOD of Emergency. The interactive session enabled 50+ officers from Hennur Police Station to learn vital life-saving techniques through hands-on demonstrations and practical drills.

In the first six months of 2025, over 29,000 lives were lost on India’s national highways alone  more than 50% of all fatalities from the previous year, as per data from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. Bengaluru saw 4,784 road accidents in 2024, with 893 people killed, revealed the same data showing the continued risk even with small improvements.

It has been noted that about 70% of vehicles involved in fatal road accidents in Bengaluru are two-wheelers — highlighting the need for helmet use and safe riding. These figures underline why interventions like flash mobs for public awareness and BLS training for front-line responders are not optional, but essential.

With over three decades of expertise, HOSMAT Hospitals stands as one of Bengaluru’s most trusted names in trauma and orthopedic care having managed 100,000+ complex trauma cases and treated over 1.5 million patients across specialties.

Its 24×7 dedicated Trauma Centre ensures “golden hour” emergency response, backed by 350 beds (and expanding capacity) and some of the region’s most experienced surgical teams. Recognized as 2nd in Bengaluru and 6th nationally for Emergency & Trauma care, HOSMAT has also performed 32,000+ joint replacements and 25,000+ ACL surgeries, reflecting unmatched surgical readiness.

Through the HOSMAT Foundation, the hospital has further extended its impact with 1,200+ corrective surgeries for underprivileged children, reaffirming its mission to heal with compassion and skill.

Dr. Shanti Priya P, Head of the Emergency department, Hosmat Hospital, Kalyan Nagar, World Trauma Day reminds us how precious every moment of life is. Trauma comes without warning  but our awareness and readiness can turn fear into hope. “Trauma doesn’t wait  but our readiness can change its story. Every helping hand, every act of care, gives someone another chance at life.”

Let’s stand together to build a safer world — one where every second counts, every action matters, and every life saved becomes a story of strength and humanity.

Mr. Deepak L., Inspector of Police, Hennur Police Station, said: This activity organised by Hosmat Hospital was very well planned and truly impactful. The hands-on training was extremely useful — we now know how to react to patients with cardiac arrest as first responders. We also learned how to handle accident victims more effectively. As first responders on the field, this training was immensely valuable.”

Sub Inspectors Parshuram B. and Narasimalu also commended Hosmat Hospital’s BLS training camp, appreciating the hospital’s initiative in empowering police personnel with life-saving emergency response skills.

HOSMAT Hospitals reaffirms its commitment to building a safer Bengaluru through regular public awareness drives, partnerships with law enforcement, and expanding its preventive trauma care initiatives. Because real safety is formed when communities, experts, and institutions walk together.

Abhinav Mishra debuts new collection The Shrine with a spectacular couture runway showcase in Delhi

The designer launched his new collection alongside the first-ever sibling runway appearance of Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan

Bangalore October 17th, 2025: Last evening, acclaimed couturier Abhinav Mishra unveiled his much-awaited annual couture runway showcase with The Shrine in the lush gardens of Chhatarpur, underneath the stars. In a landmark moment, Sara Ali Khan walked as Mishra’s muse and showstopper for the second time, proving that second time’s the charm, and was joined by her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan in their first-ever sibling appearance on the runway.

Every Abhinav Mishra showcase is a spectacle in itself, and The Shrine was no exception. Known for creating path-breaking runway experiences, Mishra reimagined the night into a living work of art, with decor inspiration executed to perfection by Rani Pink. Beneath the night sky, the set unfolded like a dream etched in stone, an architectural stepwell rising in quiet grandeur, terraces descending into infinity. Each level was draped in mirrored light, echoing centuries of whispered stories. From its edges, umbrellas layered in clusters caught the reflection of the flames, while thousands of candles illuminated the entire courtyard. Flickering against ancient steps, the firelight turned geometry into poetry, depth meeting delicacy, structure dancing with softness in a layered theatre of light. Musicians filled the air with melody, completing an atmosphere that reflected Abhinav’s enduring love for mirror work, art, music, craft, celebrations, and love.

A poetic homage to India’s architectural grandeur and timeless craft traditions, The Shrine highlighted Mishra’s ongoing commitment to reviving mirror work and gota as his signature craft, transforming them into enduring symbols of light, reflection, and continuity, while his celebrated digital storytelling has made them aspirational for a new generation.

Inspired by shrines, palaces, and temples alive with artistry and memory, the collection paid homage to carved pillars, mirrored walls, and fading frescoes that hold the imprint of generations. Mishra’s design process translated these impressions into motifs, palettes, and textiles that balanced grandeur with softness.

The inspirations unfolded through three central ideas: Enchanting Blooms, symbolising renewal and tenderness; Watercolour artistry, capturing the lyricism of frescoes; and Delicate Harmony, where sparkle met softness and structure met fluidity. The colour story featured warm pastels and muted tones, reminiscent of sun-washed walls and weathered stone, while motifs spanned floral, fluid, and geometric expressions.

Craftsmanship remained at the heart of the collection. Prints included watercolour washes, abstract interpretations, geometric repeats, and floral sketches. Embellishments layered richness into the garments, with pearls, sequin dori, and kirkiri embroidery adding texture and luminosity. At the core was Mishra’s signature mirror work and gota, which glistened across bridal lehengas, flowing anarkalis, and contemporary separates, refracting memory, illuminating tradition, and reframing it for today. Fabrics such as organza, chiffon, silk, and georgette flowed with modern ease while carrying the weight of artisanal detail.

Walking together for the very first time, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan were brought together to celebrate artistry, craftsmanship, and the joy of couture — a perfect reflection of Abhinav Mishra’s world that unites tradition with modernity, emotion with expression.

Sara Ali Khan closed the show in a royal ensemble in rusty orange, hand-embroidered with Abhinav Mishra’s signature mirror work, sequins, zari, and resham, and finished with shimmering crystal fringes. Inspired by the architectural elements of Mughal shrines and in keeping with the collection’s concept, The Shrine, the look exuded regality and radiance — a modern homage to timeless craft.

Ibrahim Ali Khan wore a regal sherwani in earthy gold katan silk, intricately embroidered with mirror work, resham, and zari. The look was bold and grand, reflecting Mishra’s flair for celebration and opulence. A rare silhouette for the designer, who is best known for his intricately embellished kurtas, the sherwani brought a stately new dimension to his menswear repertoire.

Reflecting on the showcase, Abhinav Mishra shared: “The Shrine, for me, is a metaphor for everything sacred — our craft, our stories, our sense of belonging. It is inspired by carved pillars, fading frescos, mirrored walls — things that carry the memory of generations. I wanted this collection to feel like a quiet celebration of that history, retold in a language of softness, sparkle, and soul.”

The showcase experience was elevated by its collaborative partners: Johnnie Walker Luxe Blended Water as celebration partner, Emerald Jewels as jewellery partner, and Embryolisse and Temptu as beauty partners — each complementing Mishra’s vision of timeless glamour in their own distinct way.

“Our partnership with Abhinav has embodied the philosophy of Keep Walking — celebrating the spirit of continuously evolving, pushing boundaries, and striding forward. Abhinav’s designs are bold, forward-looking, and consistently and creatively experimental. This new collection captures that very spirit and brings this essence to life. We’re thrilled to partner with him once again and can’t wait to see how he continues to Keep Walking,” said Ruchira Jaitly, CMO, Diageo India.

“At Emerald Jewels, every design begins with the intention of storytelling through Polki. For this collaboration, I drew inspiration from Abhinav Mishra’s world of mirror-work couture to create jewels that reflect light, movement, and celebration. For me, it was about weaving two crafts together into jewels that feel festive, radiant, and heirloom-worthy,” shared Dhara Patel, Founder, Emerald Jewels.

“At BDesir, our vision has always been to bring exceptional skin and makeup innovations to India with iconic brands like Temptu and Embryolisse. This collaboration with Abhinav Mishra is where couture truly meets beauty — his ethereal designs paired with radiant skin prep and a flawless finish. Together, we are creating a showcase that celebrates artistry, craft, and timeless elegance,” said Neha Modi, CEO, BDesir.

Festive Season Boosts Homebuying Across India, CREDAI Sees Strong Residential Demand

BY: Mr. Shekhar Patel, President, CREDAI

The housing market is witnessing a strong surge in homebuying sentiment across India this festive season. Traditionally a period of optimism, this year’s festive season is further buoyed by affordable EMIs and strong consumer confidence. The RBI’s repo rate stability at 5.5% has made home loans predictable and manageable, enabling more families to realise their aspirations of homeownership.

This positive momentum is further supported by GST rationalisation on key construction materials, a robust pipeline of project launches, and rapid infrastructure expansion across metros and Tier II–III cities. Thoughtfully planned communities and improved connectivity are unlocking demand in emerging locations, creating new opportunities for both buyers and investors.

At CREDAI, we believe that the convergence of affordability, availability, and aspiration will drive a significant uptick in residential demand this festive season  reinforcing real estate’s role as a cornerstone of India’s economic growth and the nation’s journey towards Viksit Bharat @2047.

Echoes of Kashmir: The Wazwan Feast at Rosetta Sakleshpur

rosseta

Saffron, spices, and centuries of culinary mastery converge on a grand copper platter for Wazwan, the legendary royal feast of Kashmir, at Rosetta Sakleshpur. This culinary celebration is a ritual of sensory indulgence hosted exclusively at the resort’s signature Indian restaurant, Merchants of Spice.

Rooted in Persian and Central Asian influences over centuries, this regal culinary spread found its way to Kashmir in the 14th century and has been an integral part of weddings and auspicious celebrations in the valley, ever since.

Wazwan traditionally spans seven to thirty-six courses and is served upon a resplendent copper trami. Guests gather around the trami to share food, laughter, and stories signifying a communion of shared plates, timeless recipes and an ode to Kashmir’s enduring culinary legacy.

The enticing Wazwan menu at Merchants of Spice comes alive through four distinct experiences: Sabzi Thael, Kokar Traem, Maaz Traem, and Sath Seyn Traem. These spreads contain aromatic Rogan Josh, delicate Gushtaba, Rista meatballs, and crispy Tabak Maaz lamb ribs alongside vegetarian classics such as Buzith Tschaman paneer, Waazeh Palak, and more. Served on a grand Trami platter with Kong Batte rice, spiced Kahwa, and Kong Phirin dessert, every course offers a harmonious journey through the heart of Kashmir, promising both tradition and refined taste.

Every dish of the Wazwan is crafted under the watchful eye of the Vasta Waza, the master chef leading his skilled brigade of chefs with precision and pride. Every ingredient is chosen with care, every spice measured with intent – transforming each dish into an act of devotion. From lamb marinated and slow-cooked with saffron to hand-rolled meatballs simmered in fragrant gravies, the essence of Kashmir finds its voice on the copper trami.

Wazwan is more than just a dining experience. It’s a celebration of heritage, artistry, and Kashmiri hospitality. Rosetta Sakleshpur invites you to this culinary celebration, set amidst a coffee plantation, and the warmth of our hospitality.

World Food Day 2025 unites experts to tackle food myths and promote food literacy

New Delhi, October 17, 2025: In a powerful demonstration of cross-sector collaboration, the Ind Food and Beverage Association (IFBA) marked World Food Day 2025 with a high-impact event focused on promoting food literacy and combating misinformation. Hosted in partnership with the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM-Kundli) and the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition (IHM-Delhi), the event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, food scientists, and academia to address the urgent need for science-backed food education in an era dominated by conflicting narratives and digital misinformation.

Sh. Avinash Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, said, “In today’s fast-paced world, processed foods offer unmatched convenience be it ready-to-eat meals, frozen snacks, or canned foods, helping individuals manage their time and nutritional needs effectively. However, despite the sector’s vital contribution to food safety and accessibility, public perception is often influenced by misinformation and media-driven myths”. Keeping in view of this, the Ministry has recently come out with a publication of FAQs on Processed Foods with special focus on Ultra Processed Foods (UPFs)/ High Fat, Salt and Sugar (HFSS) Foods to help disseminate scientific based knowledge and evidence on the subject.

A central highlight was the announcement of an upcoming IFBA report aimed at debunking persistent myths surrounding palm oil, one of the most misunderstood ingredients in the global food supply chain. The report will present evidence-based insights into palm oil’s role in nutrition, sustainability, and food manufacturing, with the goal of supporting more informed consumer choices and policy decisions.

Commenting on the occasion, Sh. Satyen Kumar Panda, ED (Regulatory Compliance) and Advisor (Quality Assurance), FSSAI, said, “Food safety is a shared responsibility that extends beyond regulatory frameworks to public awareness. We welcome initiatives that use scientific discourse to clear misconceptions and promote responsible food choices. Collaboration among academia, industry, and government is key to sustaining a culture of food safety and nutritional integrity.”

The program included panel discussions aimed at correcting misconceptions around palm oil, A1/A2 ghee, protein supplements, and processed foods, all of which are frequently misunderstood by the public.

● India’s food processing market is projected to more than double from ₹2,641,121 crore (US$ 307 billion) in 2023 to ₹6,022,100 crore (US$ 700 billion) by 2030. To sustain this growth, addressing myths around processed and packaged foods is crucial. Panelists emphasised that processed foods, when chosen wisely and consumed responsibly, can be powerful tools for nutrition rather than threats. Health outcomes depend on balance, ingredient quality, variety, and safe food practices, not simply the degree of processing. Many fortified and processed products play a key role in addressing micronutrient deficiencies, particularly among women and children.
● India currently imports about 9 million tonnes (MT) of palm oil annually, worth nearly Rs. 40,000 crore, accounting for around 56 per cent of total edible oil imports. However, palm oil has often been misunderstood as unhealthy. Meta-analyses and clinical studies (Harvard, WHO, AJCN, 2021) show no consistent evidence linking moderate palm oil consumption to heart disease. In fact, replacing trans fats with palm oil has contributed to a reduction in cardiovascular risk globally. Dr Varun Bansal, Senior Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals during the panel emphasized that it offers a balanced profile of saturated and unsaturated fats, along with tocotrienols that support cholesterol health. What truly matters is dietary balance, not the exclusion of any single oil. Instead of demonising palm oil, we should focus on diverse, mindful eating patterns and active living for better heart health
● India’s protein supplement market is also on the rise, projected to grow at a 6.6% CAGR. Sh. Sumit Mathur, Country Head – Glanbia Performance Nutrition (GPN) clarified that protein powders are typically derived from natural sources such as milk (whey, casein) and plants (soy, pea, rice), not synthetic chemicals. Adequate protein intake supports muscle maintenance, metabolic health, immunity, and the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases, making it an essential nutrient, not just for athletes but for the general population as well.
● On the topic of ghee, panelist Mr. Shashank Joshi, GM – R&D Innovation and Food Regulatory, Parag Milk Foods, explained that ghee is a natural superfood, and its nutritional value depends on purity, freshness, and quality, not on the A1 or A2 classification. The A1 vs A2 debate is largely a myth, as there is no conclusive scientific evidence supporting any nutritional difference. What truly matters is how the ghee is made, handled, and preserved. When produced with care and hygiene, cow ghee offers all the essential fatty acids, vitamins, and health benefits it is celebrated for.

Talking about this initiative, Dr. H.S. Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-K, Mr. Deepak Jolly, Chairperson at IFBA, Mr. Kamal Kant Pant, Principal, IHM Delhi, in a joint statement said, “Today’s food challenges cannot be solved in isolation. As misinformation spreads faster than ever, partnerships between industry, academia, and regulatory bodies are essential to restoring public trust. This is a step towards enabling informed food choices through science-based, inclusive communication, especially for India’s youth and future food leaders.”

IHM-Delhi and NIFTEM-K participated in a ‘Healthy Snacking’ contest, showcasing inventive recipes that delivered sensory appeal and nutritional excellence. Judged by culinary luminaries Mr. Sudhir Sibal, (Ambassador to World Chefs Without Borders) and Mr. Madhusudan Gupta, (Treasurer of the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations) along with Dr. Manjari Chandra, (Functional Nutritionist), Ms. Vaishalee Jolly (Food Blogger, Home Chef and Youtuber) and Ms. Shilpa Agrawal (Food Technologist and VP, IFBA) three winners out of 15 teams were chosen. The contest spotlighted emerging culinary leaders poised to influence the future of safe and nutritious food consumption in India.
