Medica Superspecialty Hospital highlights NGOs’ role in accessible cancer care on National Cancer Awareness Day

Mumbai/Kolkata, 8th November’24: In commemoration of National Cancer Awareness Day, Medica Superspecialty Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in Kolkata, hosted an interesting panel discussion – ‘Focusing on the important role of NGOs in making modern cancer treatment more accessible to economically disadvantaged patients in private healthcare facilities’. Representatives of reputable NGOs such as Rotary, Fight Cancer, Cancer Fight Foundation, Jadavpur Pension Association, Gauri Bari Welfare, Cankids and Dinante joined the discussion as panelists, moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Subir Ganguly, Senior Consultant and Advisor in Radiation Oncology. A few of the cancer survivors were also present during the discussion.

This year’s National Cancer Awareness Day theme, “Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment,” emphasizes the need for vigilance to recognize early signs and accessible care. Financial barriers often prevent many people from seeking cancer treatment. And NGOs play a key role in bridging this gap. In cooperation with private hospitals These organizations help patients get the treatment they need. They usually support or subsidize medical expenses.

During the discussion, Prof. (Dr.) Subir Ganguly, remarked, “Many lives are lost to cancer, and sadly, some of these losses are due to limited access to treatment. For many, the high cost of cancer care makes it unaffordable, leaving critical treatments out of reach. Here, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have an important role to play in making cancer treatment more accessible and affordable for people from lower economic backgrounds. These organizations fill health care gaps by providing essential services such as financial assistance. In collaboration with private hospitals, they provide inexpensive treatment options and necessary services, like free screenings to patients. NGOs often run awareness campaigns to prevent cancer and are additionally involved in providing emotional and logistical support, such as counseling, Nutrition advice and transportation assistance to cancer patients. At Medica, we also work with many NGOs to make cancer care affordable for the patients in need and we are quite successful in associating with the NGOs which benefited the patients. In the near future, we look to collaborate with more such organizations to help our patients.”

Commenting on the results, Mr Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director said that “Higher output, continued focus on operating efficiency, and stable input costs and selling prices have led to improved margins in the second quarter results.

On the global front, demand for stainless steel has marginally dropped largely due to economic uncertainty. However, the long awaited stimulus measures announced in China coupled with the recent uptick in PMI are positive signs for the metals sector in general.

Mr Panda added,Domestic ferro chrome prices have softened recently, making it unviable for non-integrated producers. In this context, access to captive ore and a debt-free Balance Sheet give us confidence and we are focused on leveraging it to register superior performance.”

– Company’s standalone revenue recorded double-digit growth of 12.3% YoY and single-digit QoQ growth of 6.6%, totalling Rs. 28,919 crores, beating the market estimates of Rs. 27,063 crores.
– The company recorded double-digit revenue growth  Revenue growth was driven largely by healthy volume sales during the quarter (the company outperformed the industry). Tractor sales were largely subdued due to the seasonal effect.
– Mahindra and Mahindra’s EBITDA increased by 28% to Rs. 5,270 crores compared to Rs. 3,551 crores posted in the same period last year. The margins stood at 18.2% (up 130 bps YoY / up 305 bps QoQ) during the quarter.

– M&M reported a net profit of Rs. 3,841 crores (up 13.2% YoY / up 47.0% QoQ), surpassing the market estimates of Rs. 3,564 crores. The PAT margins also remained largely flat on a YoY basis while exhibiting a robust expansion of 365 bps sequentially.
– The company posted its highest-ever quarterly volumes, at 231k, on the back of sustained SUV demand in the market, which was further augmented by the new launches during the quarter. UV volume stood at 136k.
– The company maintains its leadership position in the SUV, LCV, Tractor and e3W market, expanding its share by 190 bps, 260 bps and 90 bps, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd registered solid financial performance during the quarter, maintaining a strong market presence across segments. The demand for UVs continues to remain strong, contributing to its healthy revenue growth, while margin expansion continues as a result of improved operational efficiency. The tractor segment also remains in favour of the company despite the rainfall effect during the quarter. Going forward, visible green shoots are expected in the farm industry, primarily fuelled by a healthy rainy season and expected rural development. We also expect healthy growth in the UV segment, as consumer preference remains biased. Additionally, with two new launches in the EV segment, the company is expected to capitalize on the growing market trends. Overall, with the expected bounce in the tractor segment in H2FY25 and its resilient market position despite the slowdown in the PV segment, we believe that the company is poised for solid growth going ahead. IAMAI Unveils Document on Best Practices for Affiliate Marketing in India

Gurugram, November 7, 2024: The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) today launched a comprehensive document on the “Best Practices for Affiliate Marketing in India” at the India Affiliate Summit (IAS), India’s premier annual conference for affiliate marketing professionals. Organised by IAMAI, IAS 2024 serves as a platform for thought leaders and industry captains to address key issues within the affiliate marketing ecosystem.

Affiliate marketing spending in India currently stands at around $331 million, with projections reaching over $420 million by 2025. This anticipated growth underscores the urgent need for standardised practices and ethical guidelines to sustain the industry’s expansion. The Best Practices for Affiliate Marketing in India document by IAMAI addresses this need, providing a comprehensive framework to guide the industry toward greater transparency, trust and efficiency.

Given India’s position as one of the world’s top 10 markets in affiliate marketing, there is immense potential for further growth. Alembic Pharma Q2FY25 profit rises 12% to Rs. 153 Crores

7th November 2024, Mumbai: Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited reported its consolidated financial results for the second quarter ended 30th September 2024.

Avaada Foundation Celebrates Development with a Grand Cultural Event And Cricket Tournament in Sonbhadra| November 7, 2024

Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, November 7: Avaada Foundation hosted a grand annual tribal fair at Chichlik village in Sonbhadra district, featuring a cricket tournament and a cultural evening. Bollywood actor and Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur, Shri Ravi Kishan Ji, graced the occasion with his presence and a captivating folk music performance. Jay Shankar Shukla and Ritu Patwari, directors of the Avaada Foundation, were also present.

Seeds Fincap, British International Investment, and Lok Capital Collaborate to Offer Customized Financial Solutions to Small Retailers in India

India, November 06,2024: Seeds Fincap Pvt.
