NTT DATA Research Reveals C-Suite Misalignment Over GenAI Adoption

June 18, 2025 – NTT DATA, a global leader in digital business and technology services, today launched its new report, “The AI Security Balancing Act: From Risk to Innovation,” highlighting the opportunities and risks AI presents in cybersecurity. The findings show a misalignment among C-Suite leaders when it comes to business goals and operational readiness for GenAI deployment.

The report, which includes data from an NTT DATA survey of more than 2,300 senior GenAI decision makers, comprising 1,500 *C-Suite leaders across 34 countries, found that while CEOs and business leaders are committed to GenAI adoption, CISOs and operational leaders lack the necessary guidance, clarity and resources to fully address security risks and infrastructure challenges associated with deployment.

The C-Suite disconnect

Nearly all (99%) C-Suite executives are planning further GenAI investments over the next two years, with 67% of CEOs planning significant commitments.

In parallel, 95% of CIOs and CTOs report that GenAI has already driven, or will drive, greater cybersecurity investments, with organizations ranking improved security as one of the top three business benefits realized from GenAI deployment in the last 12 months.

Yet, even with this optimism, there is a notable disconnect between strategic ambitions and operational execution with nearly half of CISOs (45%) expressing negative sentiments toward GenAI adoption. More than half (54%) of CISOs say internal guidelines or policies on GenAI responsibility are unclear, yet only 20% of CEOs share the same concern – revealing a stark gap in executive alignment.

Despite feeling cautious about the deployment of GenAI, security teams still acknowledge its business value. In fact, 81% of senior IT security leaders with negative sentiments still agree GenAI will boost efficiency and impact the bottom-line.

Organizational operations not ready for GenAI

NTT DATA’s research further reveals a critical gap between leadership’s vision and the capabilities of their teams. While 97% of CISOs identify as decision makers on GenAI, 69% acknowledge that their teams lack the necessary skills to work with the technology.

In addition, only 38% of CISOs say their GenAI and cybersecurity strategies are aligned compared to 51% of CEOs.

Adding to the complexity, 72% of organizations surveyed still lack a formal GenAI usage policy and just 24% of CISOs strongly agree that their organization has a robust framework for balancing risk with value creation.

Legacy tech limiting GenAI adoption

Beyond internal misalignment, 88% of security leaders said legacy infrastructure is greatly affecting business agility and GenAI readiness, with modernizing IoT, 5G and edge computing identified as essential for future progress.

To navigate these obstacles, 64% of CISOs are prioritizing co-innovation with strategic IT partners rather than relying on standalone AI solutions. Notably, security leaders #1 top criteria when assessing GenAI technology partners is end-to-end GenAI service offerings.

“As organizations accelerate GenAI adoption, cybersecurity must be embedded from the outset to reinforce resilience. While CEOs champion innovation, ensuring seamless collaboration between cybersecurity and business strategy is critical to mitigating emerging risks,” said Sheetal Mehta, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Cybersecurity at NTT DATA, Inc. “A secure and scalable approach to GenAI requires proactive alignment, modern infrastructure and trusted co-innovation to protect enterprises from emerging threats while unlocking AI’s full potential.”

“Collaboration is highly valued by line-of-business leaders in their relationships with CISOs. However, disconnects remain, with gaps between the organization’s desired risk posture and its current cybersecurity capabilities,” said Craig Robinson, Research Vice President, Security Services at IDC. “While the use of GenAI clearly provides benefits to the enterprise, CISOs and Global Risk and Compliance leaders struggle to communicate the need for proper governance and guardrails, making alignment with business leaders essential for implementation.”

Group 108 Partners With Human Touch Foundation For a Plantation Drive Themed “Plant Today, Breathe Tomorrow”

Greater Noida, June 18, 2025: In a time when urban expansion often stands at odds with ecological balance, Group 108 scripted a quiet yet impactful chapter of hope at its landmark IT Park development, Grandthum, in Techzone 4, Greater Noida (West). Themed “Plant Today, Breathe Tomorrow,” the plantation drive was not merely an environmental gesture—it was a deliberate act of reclamation, positioning nature back into the heart of real estate vision.

Environment

Organised as part of World Environment Month, the initiative saw the coming together of Group 108’s leadership, employees, project associates, and volunteers from its partner NGO, The Human Touch Foundation, in a collective effort to reintroduce green lungs into a rapidly urbanising corridor. By noon, the expansive site of Grandthum bore the first signs of transformation—not with steel or concrete, but with saplings planted in measured rhythm across designated zones within the project.

The effort aligns with Group 108’s broader Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) agenda—a roadmap that seeks not to greenwash development, but to green-root it. The saplings chosen were indigenous, hardy species, curated to thrive in the region’s climate and contribute tangibly to air purification and biodiversity recovery.

Dr. Amish Bhutani, Managing Director, Group 108, shared a message that encapsulates the group’s commitment to sustainability: “Urban growth and environmental integrity must not be adversaries. At Group 108, we believe that infrastructure must evolve alongside ecosystems. This initiative is not a routine formality —it is a philosophical anchor. To plant a tree is to vote for the future. And we intend to keep voting.”

The plantation drive unfolded with a quiet sense of purpose, guided by Group 108’s leadership and supported by its on-ground teams and members of The Human Touch Foundation, the NGO partner for the initiative.

The event concluded with informative sessions on urban greening, the ecological importance of native flora, and the long-term carbon offset potential of tree-lined commercial landscapes

Grandthum, known for its bold architectural language and commercial prominence, is fast emerging as a development that marries form with foresight. Beyond being a hub of retail and enterprise, the project is envisioned as a place where sustainability becomes experience—not marketing.

The one-day workshop held at the university brought together a diverse group of stakeholders comprising urban planners, real estate developers, policymakers, academics, and government officials, anchoring a day of deep interdisciplinary dialogue. Spearheaded by Prof. Prasad Pathak, Faculty of Environmental Studies, FLAME University, the conference is part of FLAME’s broader engagement with Project IncLand, a national initiative committed to strengthening land-focused pedagogy and institutional capacity in India.

Speaking on the significance of this event, Prof. Venkataramanan, Pro Vice-Chancellor, FLAME University, emphasized the need for such workshops and the urgency of interdisciplinary approaches in tackling India’s land challenges and shared, “Land is more than a physical asset; it is a foundation for economic development, urban equity, and environmental sustainability. Through initiatives like Project IncLand and programs like this workshop, FLAME University aims to foster critical thinking and cross-sector collaboration that can reshape India’s land governance landscape.”

The event featured an insightful fireside dialogue titled ‘Land at the Core,’ where experts focused on longstanding bottlenecks in the sector, such as land titling, regulatory overlaps, and valuation hurdles, along with the need for collaborative solutions in land administration. This discussion featured Ramnath Sonawane, IAS and Ex-Municipal Commissioner, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation; Satya Prabha Giri, Managing Partner, Lotus Landmarks, Pune; Ajay Katuri, CEPT University and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA); Mohammed Hussain Shaikh, Founder, Land Masters Advisory, Mumbai; and Santosh Bhansali, Founder, White Lotus Realty, Mumbai.

This was followed by a masterclass on ‘Practical Insight: Town Planning Schemes, Land Management & Governance’ by Mr. Rajan Kop, former Director, Department of Town Planning and Valuation, Government of Maharashtra. The day concluded with a roundtable discussion to identify skill development, work mechanisms, and knowledge gaps in land planning and management, with insights from representatives of various sectors.

Prof. Prasad Pathak, Faculty of Environmental Studies, FLAME University, also shared his views and added, “There is a need to bridge the silos between real estate developers, planners, and governance authorities. Our aim with ‘Land Matters’ was to create a cross-learning platform where all these experts can share experiences, explore land complexities in real estate and infrastructure projects, and work towards long-term capacity building.”

This workshop also highlighted FLAME University’s role in Project IncLand. As a key academic collaborator, the university, through its innovative initiatives such as the development of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) titled ‘Introduction to Land Governance,’ has taken the lead in capacity building. This aims to equip students across disciplines with a strong foundation in land administration and governance.

Identifying the significance of initiatives like Land Matters, Mr. Pranab Choudhury, Co-Founder and Director, Landstack, said, “It was good to see engineers, planners, and real estate developers from both the government and the private sector, along with academicians, come together to discuss how land matters to everybody. The reason for that is quite often, land is not just a commodity but also an identity. In India, land has traditionally been left for the state to deal with, which is not the case globally. Initiatives like ‘Land Matters’ by FLAME University and LandStack are addressing this and making it an interdisciplinary subject so that land, which impacts everyone, also becomes an inclusive resource for the society to collectively ideate, develop, plan, and manage.”

Gartner Predicts 75 Percent of Analytics Content to Use GenAI for Enhanced Contextual Intelligence by 2027

SYDNEY, Australia, June 18, 2025 — Seventy-five percent of new analytics content will be contextualized for intelligent applications through generative AI (GenAI) by 2027, enabling composable connection between insights and actions, according to Gartner, Inc.

“We’re moving from an era where analytic tools help business people make decisions, to a future where GenAI-powered analytics becomes perceptive and adaptive,” said Georgia O’Callaghan, Director, Analyst at Gartner. “This will enable dynamic and autonomous decisions that have the potential to transform enterprise and consumer software, business processes and models.”

A Gartner survey of 403 analytics or AI leaders, conducted between October and December 2024, revealed over 50% report their organizations use AI tools for automated insights and natural language queries (NLG) for analytics or AI development. Even with these capabilities, the static nature of current analytics often falls short of delivering in a truly dynamic and automated fashion.

Gartner predicts augmented analytics capabilities will evolve into autonomous analytics platforms by 2027, which will fully manage and execute 20% of business processes. The perceptive future of analytics will deliver benefits by being proactive, collaborative, connected, contextual and continuous (see Figure 1).

Figure 1: AI-Powered, Perceptive Analytics

“Perceptive analytics will use AI agents and other GenAI-fueled technologies to continuously monitor evolving conditions and perceive the target environment, such as market shifts, customer behavior changes or supply chain disruptions,” said O’Callaghan.

“Guidance and analysis can then be autonomously adjusted in response, creating a more resilient and responsive analytical infrastructure. As these capabilities emerge and be adopted by organizations, their potential to reshape business operations and drive growth will only continue to expand.”

Perceptive Analytics Overarching Risk

According to Gartner research, the overarching risk that applies to perceptive analytics is the over reliance on autonomous actions without sufficient validation, which could result in unintended negative consequences, reputational damage and regulatory scrutiny.

The risk of “agent drift” is a serious concern, where a system’s perceptions and actions gradually deviate from desired outcomes due to evolving data or unforeseen interactions. Guardian agents are emerging to deal with this inherent issue in AI systems, according to Gartner. These agents are specifically tasked with monitoring and enforcing policies and rules to ensure the systems operate within a set of guardrails.

“Building guardian agents will need to be a key focal point of new governance initiatives for data and analytics leaders, as agentic and perceptive analytics become the standard way of insight delivery across platforms,” said O’Callaghan.
