Sai Life Sciences Becomes First Indian CRDMO With a Site Powered by 100 per cent Renewable Energy

Business Wire India

Sai Life Sciences Limited (BSE: 544306 | NSE: SAILIFE), one of India’s leading integrated contract research, development, and manufacturing organizations (CRDMOs), today announced that its Bidar campus — comprising Unit IV, the company’s flagship API manufacturing facility, and Unit VI, its animal health API manufacturing facility — now operates entirely on renewable power. With this milestone, Bidar becomes the first site within an Indian CRDMO to achieve 100% renewable electricity usage.

Making the announcement, Krishna Kanumuri, CEO & Managing Director, Sai Life Sciences, said, “The medicines we help bring into the world serve patients for years, often decades. The infrastructure behind them should be built with the same horizon in mind. Decisions around energy and scale therefore have to anticipate a future where sustainability, resilience, and resource efficiency will increasingly define how global industry operates. This transition reflects that long-term view.”

The transition was achieved through a phased, multi-year effort. Renewable sources accounted for 21% of the site’s energy consumption in 2020, increasing to 57% in 2022 and 89% in fiscal 2024, before reaching full conversion in fiscal 2026.

Today, 97% of the site’s electricity requirement is sourced directly from solar and wind power through Open Access renewable energy agreements. The remaining 3% is balanced through the procurement of International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs), ensuring that the site’s entire electricity consumption is backed by renewable sources.

The transition combined long-term renewable power purchase agreements with direct investments in clean energy infrastructure, including a 2.7 MW wind project under a group captive model. Alongside expanding renewable energy access, Sai Life Sciences also implemented energy-efficiency initiatives through equipment upgrades, process optimization, and digital monitoring systems designed to improve operational performance and reduce overall energy demand.

The shift extends well beyond a single campus. Today, nearly 80% of Sai Life Sciences’ total electricity consumption across the organization comes from renewable sources. As a result, the company has achieved zero market-based Scope 2 emissions, avoiding an estimated 35,110 metric tonnes of CO emissions annually. The Bidar milestone reflects Sai Life Sciences’ broader approach to integrating scientific innovation, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability into the company’s growth strategy.

HistoSonics Moves to Advance Additional Histotripsy Applications Announcing FDA Submission for Kidney Tumors

Business Wire India

HistoSonics, the developer of the Edison® Histotripsy System and novel histotripsy therapy platform, today announced it has submitted a De Novo request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration seeking authorization to expand the use of its Edison® Histotripsy System to include the destruction of kidney (renal) tumors.

HistoSonics Edison® Histotripsy System

HistoSonics Edison® Histotripsy System

This milestone marks a significant step forward in the company’s mission to transform the treatment of solid tumors with a completely non-invasive technology that harnesses focused ultrasound to mechanically liquefy and destroy targeted tissue, reducing the risk of many complications and side effects associated with surgery, radiation, and other common therapies.

“This submission is an important milestone in expanding histotripsy beyond the liver and into the kidney, an area where patients and physicians are seeking organ-preserving and nephron-sparing alternatives,” said Mike Blue, Chairman and CEO of HistoSonics. “We believe histotripsy has the potential to fundamentally change how solid tumors are treated, delivering precise, non-invasive therapy that preserves what matters most – including patient quality of life.”

The submission is supported by clinical evidence from the ongoing #HOPE4KIDNEY Trial (NCT05820087), a prospective, multi-center, single-arm pivotal trial evaluating the safety and effectiveness of the Edison® System in destroying targeted kidney tumors. The trial enrolled 67 patients and continues to generate promising insights into the potential of histotripsy in kidney applications.

“Histotripsy represents a fundamentally novel approach to treating kidney tumors. In the #HOPE4KIDNEY Trial, we observed precise, noninvasive tumor destruction without incisions, radiation, or thermal injury. These findings highlight the potential of histotripsy to expand treatment options for patients with kidney tumors and represent an important step forward for both physicians and patients,” said Dr. William Huang, Urologic Oncologist at NYU Langone Health and Principal Investigator for the #HOPE4KIDNEY Trial.

Kidney tumors represent a significant and growing clinical challenge, with approximately 680,000 people living with kidney tumors in the United States and an estimated 80,000 new cases will be diagnosed in 2026. Current standard-of-care treatments—such as partial nephrectomy and thermal ablation—are invasive and may carry risks including bleeding, infection, and unintended damage to surrounding tissue. Histotripsy offers a compelling new alternative: a non-invasive, non-thermal approach designed to precisely target tumors while helping to preserve critical kidney function.

Currently, the Edison System is indicated for the non-invasive destruction of liver tumors, including unresectable liver tumors, using histotripsy, a non-thermal, mechanical process of focused ultrasound. The system is currently being evaluated by the FDA for the destruction of kidney tumors, and its use in kidney applications remains investigational.

Silvanet Wildfire Sensor Gen4Pro enables ultra-early wildfire detection and environmental data monitoring.

The Silvanet suite is a comprehensive wildfire detection system combining solar-powered gas sensors, a large-scale wireless IoT network, and cloud-based analytics. Unlike traditional camera or satellite-based systems, Silvanet detects wildfires within minutes of ignition—often during the smoldering phase—long before flames or smoke plumes become visible. This makes it especially effective in identifying human-caused fires resulting from accidents, technical faults, or negligent behavior.

The Gen-4-Pro Silvanet Wildfire Sensor introduces several breakthrough innovations:

  • Enhanced Detection Accuracy and Sensitivity: The integration of new carbon monoxide (CO) and PM2.5 particle sensors significantly increases detection precision, virtually eliminating false positives while extending detection range by a factor of two or more. The addition of PM2.5 sensing also enables continuous monitoring of air pollution levels, providing valuable environmental and public health insights.
  • Unmatched Energy Resilience: A larger solar panel combined with triple the energy storage capacity ensures uninterrupted, year-round operation—even under extreme low-light conditions such as dense forest canopies or winter environments.
  • Direct-to-Satellite Connectivity: For the first time, Silvanet sensors feature built-in direct-to-satellite communication via Dryad’s partner Kinéis. This enables fully autonomous deployments without reliance on terrestrial networks, making the system ideal for remote areas and cost-efficient linear infrastructure protection, including power lines and railways.

The launch of Gen-4-Pro marks a major milestone for Dryad,” said Carsten Brinkschulte, co-founder and CEO of Dryad Networks. “We are delivering on our promise to build the world’s fastest and most reliable wildfire detection technology. As wildfires increasingly threaten our communities and vital natural resources, this new generation of Silvanet brings us closer to a future where devastating fires can be prevented before they even start.

With the introduction of Gen-4-Pro, Dryad continues to set new standards in wildfire prevention technology—offering governments, utilities, and landowners a powerful tool to detect fires earlier, respond faster, and reduce environmental and economic damage.

The Gen-4-Pro Silvanet Wildfire Sensor is available immediately for deployment worldwide.

PropDeFi Expands Market Access With Azbit Listing, PancakeSwap Availability, and Utility-Driven Tokenomics

Business Wire India

Market Access & Visibility

PropDeFi has entered a stronger market phase as PPDF is now listed on Azbit and available on PancakeSwap, giving users direct access to trade the token across centralized and decentralized markets. This marks an important step as PPDF moves from early development into an active stage where price movement, liquidity, and participation can now be followed in real time.

Beyond trading access, PPDF is gaining wider visibility through major market tracking platforms. Users can now monitor activity on GeckoTerminal, DEXView, and DexScreener, where price trends, liquidity movement, and chart performance are easier to follow.

On-chain visibility also remains part of the ecosystem, allowing users to observe wallet movement, transfers, and token activity as PropDeFi grows.

Tokenomics Driving Long-Term Value

What makes this phase stronger is the token model behind it. PPDF is a non-mintable token with a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens and no inflation model, giving users clarity around long-term token availability.

PPDF is designed as a utility and governance token, supporting platform fees, staking participation, governance voting, access tiers, and ecosystem operations. This creates a token model connected to real platform use rather than short-term speculation alone.

Why This is Important

  • Direct Access: PPDF is live on Azbit and PancakeSwap.
  • Market Visibility: Track PPDF on GeckoTerminal, DEXView, and DexScreener.
  • Fixed Supply: 1B token cap, non-mintable, and no inflation.
  • Utility Demand: Supports staking, governance, fees, and access tiers.
  • Growth Foundation: Trading access and token utility now work together.

Executive Comment

“We’re building PropDeFi to connect real estate finance with open markets and blockchain systems. With PPDF now accessible through exchanges and visible across tracking platforms, users can follow both market behaviour and token utility in one connected environment,” – Lomi, CEO.

Next Growth Phase of PPDF

With listings live, visibility expanding, and tokenomics now in focus, PropDeFi is entering a stronger growth phase. Users can now follow PPDF across tracking platforms, understand its fixed-supply model, and access it through active markets. As participation grows, PPDF gains more room to build market presence and ecosystem utility. Enter early and secure PPDF now before wider attention builds, and this phase moves ahead!

Fresh Militia Violence in DR Congo’s Ituri Province Leaves At Least 69 Dead

Bunia, May 11 (BNP): At least 69 people were killed in a fresh wave of militia violence in the conflict-hit Ituri province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to local authorities and security sources.

The deadly attacks were reportedly carried out by armed fighters linked to the Codeco militia, which claims to represent the Lendu community, in several villages in late April. The violence comes amid escalating tensions between the Hema and Lendu ethnic groups, who have been engaged in a long-running conflict in the gold-rich province bordering Uganda and South Sudan.

Officials said the attacks followed earlier clashes involving the Convention for the Popular Revolution (CRP), an armed group associated with the Hema community, and the Congolese Army near the locality of Pimbo. Security sources stated that the violence claimed the lives of civilians, militia members, and soldiers.

Local civil society leaders described the killings as a “massacre,” with reports of bodies lying unattended for days due to continued militia presence in the affected areas. Humanitarian agencies also reported widespread panic, displacement of civilians, and destruction of property across several villages.

The United Nations mission in the DRC (MONUSCO) strongly condemned the attacks and reiterated its concern over the deteriorating security situation in eastern Congo. Earlier, the UN mission had rescued nearly 200 civilians caught in crossfire during clashes between armed groups and government forces.

Eastern DRC has remained unstable for decades due to the activities of multiple armed groups competing for control over the region’s vast mineral resources, including gold, cobalt, copper, and diamonds. The violence has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis in Ituri province, where nearly one million people are currently displaced, according to UN agencies.

Authorities and humanitarian organisations have appealed for restraint and urged communities to avoid retaliatory violence as efforts continue to restore peace and stability in the region.
