Neela Mediatech brings TMKOC to the 3D animated screen with two new films in six languages

Mumbai, Jan 03:  Over the past three years, Neela Mediatech has steadily built Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s (TMKOC) multi-format digital franchise across gaming, gamefied education, and animation. As part of its next phase of growth, the company is now strengthening its animation vertical with the launch of two feature-length 3D animated films on YouTube

The first film, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah 3D Animated Movie: Gokuldham to Galacto, will release on December 31, followed by Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah 3D Animated Movie: The Big Fat Alien Wedding on January 26. Both films will be available on YouTube in six languages – Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, supporting wider reach across regions, age groups and digital-first audiences.

These releases mark Neela Mediatech’s entry into feature-length 3D animation. Building on the successful traction of its animated rhymes, the company is now investing in long-format storytelling designed for sustained digital consumption, repeat viewing, and platform-led growth.

Asit Kumarr Modi, Founder, Neela Mediatech, while commenting on the development said

TMKOC was created to bring families together and offer relief from everyday stress through simple, relatable stories. Animation allows us to carry that intent forward for children who are growing up on digital platforms today. For me, this is about ensuring that the emotional meaning behind the show community, warmth, and shared joy continues to resonate across generations, regardless of format.”

“The strength of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has always been its characters and the emotional bond audiences share with them. Animation gives us the freedom to explore those characters in new ways, experiment with humour, and reach newer audiences over time. These two films are just the beginning of how we want to build this vertical. Digital platforms like YouTube support that journey by enabling steady growth through discovery and repeat viewing at scale,” said Harjeet Chhabra, CEO, Neela Mediatech.

The films place familiar TMKOC characters in new narrative settings while retaining the humour and community-led storytelling associated with the franchise. Each title functions independently while contributing to a larger animation pipeline planned by the company.

With this launch, Neela Mediatech continues to structure TMKOC as a multi-format digital business, with animation positioned as a sustained growth driver alongside gaming, children’s content, and learning-led platforms.

Is Infertility Becoming a New Lifestyle Disorder?

By:-  Dr. Sabia Mangat, Consultant – Gynaecologist, Reproductive Medicine and IVF, Milann Fertility Hospital, Chandigarh

India is witnessing a striking paradox: even as medical technology advances, more young couples are struggling to conceive. Fertility specialists across the country report a steady rise in infertility cases often in couples in their late 20s and early 30s. While medical conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, low ovarian reserve, and poor sperm quality remain important causes, a growing body of evidence suggests that infertility today is increasingly shaped by modern lifestyle choices. From stress and screen addiction to delayed childbirth and dietary habits, infertility is rapidly emerging as a lifestyle disorder.

According to the latest Sample Registration System (SRS) data, the country’s Total Fertility Rate (TFR) has fallen to 1.9, below the replacement level of 2.1. Eighteen states and union territories including Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab, and West Bengal are now below replacement fertility. For the first time, even rural India has touched a TFR of 2.1, while urban areas have dipped to 1.5, reflecting shifting social patterns. Fertility is declining most sharply among younger women (15–29 years), while increasing marginally among women aged 30 and above, clear evidence of delayed parenthood making it the biggest contributor.

An increasing number of couples are choosing to postpone pregnancy while they build careers, achieve financial stability, or pursue personal goals. Although empowering, this trend collides with biological reality. Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have, and both egg quality and egg quantity begin to decline sharply after the age of 32. For men, long working hours, erratic meals, smoking, alcohol consumption, and chronic stress are linked to reduced sperm count and motility. Together, these factors are pushing infertility into the mainstream as a lifestyle-driven phenomenon.

The urban lifestyle is another major catalyst. Long workdays, high-pressure environments, sedentary habits, and chronic screen exposure are now common across age groups. Stress has become a new normal in today’s life. And, stress triggers hormonal imbalances that affect ovulation in women and testosterone levels in men. Again, the increase in desk jobs has also led to an epidemic of obesity, and other other risk factors for ovulatory issues, insulin resistance, erectile dysfunction, and poorer IVF outcomes.  Even the non-uniform working hours lead to sleep deprivation, excessive social media use, or irregular routines, disrupting hormonal cycles essential for fertility.

Diet, too, plays an increasingly important role. The growing dependence on processed foods, sugary beverages, refined carbohydrates, and high-salt snacks fuels inflammation and metabolic disorders that interfere with reproductive health. According to fertility experts, a Mediterranean-style diet, supports better hormonal balance and improves both egg and sperm quality. However, for many urban Indians, convenience often takes precedence over nutrition, leading to deficiencies in essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Environmental factors have also been linked to declines  in fertility. Air pollution, endocrine-disrupting chemicals in plastics, pesticides in food, and everyday exposure to cosmetics and household products containing harmful chemicals have been linked to declining fertility rates globally. These disruptions mimic or interfere with the body’s natural hormones, affecting menstrual cycles, sperm development, and embryo implantation.

What makes infertility particularly complex is the emotional landscape surrounding it. Modern lifestyles leave little room for rest, reflection, or interpersonal connection, creating a sense of isolation among couples facing fertility challenges. The added pressure of societal expectations, competitive careers, and financial commitments only intensifies the emotional burden. Mental health issues such as anxiety, burnout, and depressive symptoms, create a vicious cycle, further affecting hormonal and reproductive health.

Recognising infertility as a lifestyle disorder is the first step toward prevention. Time has come to take proactive approaches, such as: regular health screenings, maintaining a healthy diet, staying physically active, reducing smoking and alcohol consumption, managing stress through yoga or mindfulness, and prioritising 7–8 hours of sleep. For couples planning to delay pregnancy, fertility preservation options such as egg or sperm freezing offer greater reproductive flexibility.

Infertility is caused by genetic and biological factors, but the rise in number reflects a deeper lifestyle shift. As work pressures intensify, diets become more processed, and stress becomes a constant companion, reproductive health inevitably takes a hit.

SRCC’s 100-Year Journey: Centenary Curtain Raiser Reflects Enduring Impact on Indian Economy

Shri Ram College of Commerce

New Delhi, Jan 2: Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), one of India’s most influential institutions in commerce and economics education, formally commenced its centenary celebrations on Friday with a landmark Curtain Raiser ceremony at its North Campus, bringing together academic leaders, policymakers, and distinguished alumni from across sectors.

As SRCC enters its 100th year (1926 2026), the institution reflected on a legacy that has closely tracked the evolution of India’s economic and governance architecture. The centenary curtain raiser outlined a year- long programme of academic conclaves, policy dialogues, alumni engagements, and global collaborations aimed at positioning SRCC for the demands of the next century.

Shri Ram College of Commerce

Tribute to Founder and Institutional Legacy

The event was presided over by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, who attended as Chief Guest, along with Mr. Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman, SRCC Governing Body. The ceremony opened with a floral tribute to Sir Shri Ram, the visionary industrialist who founded the institution in 1920 as The Commercial School to nurture indigenous business leadership in pre-Independence India.

A commemorative coffee table book, Timeless Frames, chronicling SRCC’s journey from its early years in Daryaganj to its emergence as a globally recognised centre of excellence, was also released on the occasion.

Vice Chancellor highlights SRCC’s Nation Building Role

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Yogesh Singh described SRCC as a “globally recognised academic brand” and said the college’s contribution went far beyond rankings or reputation.

“Hundred years is long enough to build institutions, shape generations and influence the journey of a nation. SRCC has done all three,” he said, adding that the University of Delhi took pride in the college’s role in producing economists, administrators, judges, and business leaders who continue to shape India’s growth story.

Referring to India’s recent economic milestone of becoming the 4th largest economy, the Vice Chancellor said the country’s emergence as a USD 4 trillion economy underscored the importance of institutions like SRCC in producing world class economists, entrepreneurs, and policy thinkers. He urged the college to focus its next phase on entrepreneurship, business incubation, and emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and digital finance.

“Institutions like SRCC must now prepare leaders who create enterprises, not just join them, and who see leadership as a moral responsibility,” he said.

Chairman’s Address

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman, SRCC Governing Body, said the centenary curtain raiser marked both a moment of reflection and a roadmap for the future. Recalling SRCC’s journey from its modest beginnings in Daryaganj to becoming one of India’s foremost centres for commerce and economics education, he said the occasion was an opportunity to recognise achievements while planning ahead.

Paying tribute to late Arun Jaitley for his enduring contribution to the institution, Mr. Shriram said SRCC’s greatest strength lay in its people, its faculty, students, staff, and alumni. Outlining the path forward, he said the college would focus on academic excellence, research, infrastructure expansion, AI enabled learning, entrepreneurship, inclusion, sustainability, and deeper alumni engagement. “Our responsibility now is to ensure that SRCC not only preserves its legacy, but remains relevant, ethical, and nationally significant in the century to come,” he said.

Principal emphasises values and purpose

Welcoming the guests, Prof. Simrit Kaur, Principal, SRCC, said the centenary was a collective achievement shaped by generations of faculty, students, administrators, and alumni.

“For a hundred years, SRCC has stood for purpose over profit and ethics over expediency,” she said, adding that the college remained committed to nurturing socially responsible leaders grounded in ethical business practices, sustainability, and national service. She also acknowledged the continued support of the University leadership and the Governing Body in strengthening the institution’s academic and research framework.

Distinguished alumni reflect on SRCC’s impact

Several eminent alumni and well-wishers attended the ceremony, underscoring SRCC’s enduring influence across public life, industry, and civil society.

Sangeeta Jaitley, wife of late Arun Jaitley, former Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, recalled the profound impact SRCC had on his life and public journey. “He often spoke about the formative years he spent at this college and how deeply it shaped his thinking and values,” she said. Congratulating SRCC on completing 100 years, she added, “This is a proud moment. I wish the college many more centuries of producing leaders who excel in their own spaces and serve the nation with distinction.”

Shri Ram College of Commerce

Justice A.K. Sikri, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, was also present at the event.

Sunit Sethi, Chairman, Fashion Design Council of India, said SRCC’s alumni success across sectors was rooted in its academic culture. “It is a matter of great pride that SRCC alumni are doing exceptionally well in every field. Much of this credit goes to the college’s versatile, forward-looking faculty,” he said.

Sminu Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal SAW Limited and Founder Chairperson of Svayam, reflected on the institution’s inclusive ethos. “I feel extremely proud to be part of SRCC. As a person on a wheelchair, the college gave me the opportunity to study in an accessible and enabling environment, something that stayed with me throughout my life,” she said.

Shri Ram College of Commerce

Vijay Goel, alumnus and former Union Minister, said SRCC played a defining role in shaping his life and leadership journey. “Whatever I am today, I owe to Shri Ram College of Commerce. The values of leadership, discipline, teamwork, and public engagement that I learnt here through academics, sports, student politics, NCC and NSS shaped not just my career, but my character,” he said.

Neeraj Ghei, Co-founder and Promoter of Select Citywalk and Select Synergies and Services Private Limited, highlighted the institution’s role in shaping professional confidence. “SRCC instils a sense of discipline, curiosity and integrity that stays with you long after you leave the campus. It prepares you not just for careers, but for leadership,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with the illumination of the heritage campus, symbolising the dawn of SRCC’s next century, followed by a cultural presentation featuring a Kathak Bharatanatyam jugalbandi and a musical tribute reflecting the eras the institution has witnessed.

Rare Pancreatic Tumor in a Woman from Mauritius

Hyderabad,  Jan 2:- A 55-year-old woman from Mauritius was experiencing sudden and severe drops in blood sugar levels. If she did not eat frequently, she would suffer from dizziness and even lose consciousness. When she consulted doctors in Mauritius, medical investigations revealed that she was suffering from a rare pancreatic tumor known as insulinoma.Photo

As the condition required a highly complex surgical procedure, doctors in Mauritius advised that surgery was not feasible there and referred her to Hyderabad for advanced treatment. She was admitted to KIMS Kondapur Hospital, where she received treatment under the care of Dr. C.H. Naveen Kumar, Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist and Robotic Surgeon.

Explaining the case, Dr. Naveen Kumar said;

“The patient came directly to KIMS Kondapur Hospital. Surgical removal of pancreatic tumors is generally very complex because suturing the pancreas is extremely challenging. We diagnosed her condition as an insulinoma, a rare type of pancreatic tumor. Along with my team, we successfully performed a highly complex surgery using a completely laparoscopic approach, making only small incisions to remove the tumor from the pancreas.”

He further added;

“Since the tumor was very small, we used intraoperative ultrasound and advanced technologies to accurately locate and remove it. The surgery was completed successfully without any complications. Anaesthesia Dr Veerbhadra rao and team supporting. Following the procedure, the patient recovered well and was discharged from the hospital after six days.”

The successful surgery highlights KIMS Kondapur Hospital’s expertise in handling rare and complex pancreatic conditions using advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques. We are one of the top most centres for robotic/lap HPB surgeries for both benign and cancers in twin states

Seven Architectural Projects That Will Shape India’s Built Landscape in 2026

As 2025 draws to a close, Indian architecture stands at a pivotal moment of transformation. Public institutions are being reimagined, schools and universities are redefining learning environments, hospitality and IT districts are emerging as engines of economic growth, and public landscapes are being reclaimed as vital civic spaces. Across these shifts, CP Kukreja Architects (CPKA) continues to shape some of the country’s most significant projects.

Pic 4 International Convention and Expo Centre for ONGC, Goa

The year ahead will see several of these developments enter decisive phases. Together, they reflect the firm’s commitment to creating environments that are humane, future-ready, and deeply rooted in context. From the Indian Army’s new headquarters in Delhi to a landmark public park in Dehradun, from an Elizabethan-inspired school in Gurugram to a major IT hub in Kerala and a luxury hospitality expansion in Lucknow, 2026 promises to be a defining year. Below is a curated list of seven key projects to watch.

1. Thal Sena Bhawan, New Delhi

The upcoming headquarters of the Indian Army stands among the most consequential institutional developments in the country. The design translates the spirit of the Army into an architectural expression of unity, clarity, and strength.

Drawing inspiration from the crossed swords and national emblem of the Army crest, the form is abstracted into a powerful geometric composition. The building establishes a dignified presence within the Delhi Cantonment while remaining sensitive to its natural setting, carefully preserving hundreds of existing trees.

Connectivity, security, and efficiency underpin the planning strategy. Internal circulation is organised to minimise travel distances between departments, informed by global precedents such as the Pentagon and Hexagone Balard. Landscaped courtyards are woven into the built footprint, creating a campus that balances calmness with security. In 2026, the project will advance into detailed coordination, marking a key milestone toward a new national landmark.

2. International Convention and Expo Centre for ONGC, Goa

The ONGC campus in Goa is one of the largest institutional projects currently underway in India. Conceived as a comprehensive destination for conventions, exhibitions, training, and public engagement, the campus integrates three primary components: a Convention Centre, an Exhibition Hall, and a Management Training Facility.

The Convention Centre is designed as a high-capacity venue with a multi-tiered retractable stage, VVIP and VIP zones, expansive pre-function areas, and multiple meeting spaces. Carefully planned circulation ensures the segregation of public, VIP, and VVIP movement, including direct helipad access for high-level delegations.

The Exhibition Hall offers a highly flexible span of nearly 120 metres, supported by efficient service and mezzanine levels. The Management Training Facility provides an academic environment with classrooms, syndicate rooms, and collaborative spaces organised around clear circulation and outdoor connections.

Rooted in Goa’s coastal context, the architectural language draws from local colours and textures while maintaining a contemporary identity. With significant construction and coordination scheduled for 2026, the campus is set to become a national hub for large-scale events and knowledge exchange.

 3. Queen Elizabeth School, Gurugram

Queen Elizabeth School reinterprets Elizabethan architectural traditions for a contemporary learning environment. Founded in the 16th century during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, the school carries a rich historical lineage that the design honours while adapting it for modern pedagogy.

Academic blocks express this heritage through red brick façades, stone detailing, gables, towers, and articulated rooflines—recalling the proportions and rhythms of English Renaissance architecture. In contrast, the auditorium emerges as a sculptural contemporary form inspired by the crown, serving as a visual anchor for the campus.

The masterplan integrates academic, residential, and sports zones into a cohesive whole, structured by courtyards, landscapes, and pedestrian pathways. With façade development and final visualisations completed, the project will move into key construction phases through 2026.

4. Technocity & Technopark IT Building (Technopark Phase IV), Thiruvananthapuram

Technocity, the fourth phase of Kerala’s Technopark, is envisioned as one of India’s most forward-looking IT districts. Spread across nearly 390 acres, the masterplan integrates workplace infrastructure with ecological corridors, social amenities, and open public spaces.

The development is structured into three interconnected districts: the Central District with mixed-use and public functions; the Eco District, which preserves water bodies, forests, and natural features; and the IT Park District, housing high-density commercial and technology facilities.

Mobility planning prioritises pedestrians and non-motorised transport through shaded streets, elevated nature walks, link bridges, and interactive spines. Sustainability informs every layer—from stormwater management and afforestation to energy-efficient design.

Within this larger vision, the Technopark IT Building will act as a key anchor for Phase IV. Together, these projects will progress into advanced detailing and development in 2026, setting the foundation for a future-ready technology ecosystem.

5. American Embassy School, New Delhi

The American Embassy School (AES) in Chanakyapuri is undergoing a carefully phased, multi-stage transformation aimed at creating a more flexible and future-ready campus.

The initial phases include a new Wellness Centre and High School Annex, followed by the renovation of the existing high school, upgrades to the central administration block, and the construction of a new cafeteria. Subsequent phases will introduce workshops, plant facilities, and infrastructure reorganisation across the campus.

A key strength of the project lies in its sensitive phasing strategy, ensuring uninterrupted academic activity throughout construction. Circulation routes, play areas, service access, and entry points are recalibrated at each stage to maintain safety and continuity. As implementation deepens in 2026, AES is set to establish a benchmark for international school campuses in India.

6. Rashtrapati Udyan, Dehradun

The redevelopment of Rashtrapati Udyan is among the most ambitious public landscape projects in Uttarakhand. Located at the foothills of the Himalayas, the design envisions a park that celebrates ecology, culture, and recreation.

The masterplan organises the site into experiential zones, including the Sanskriti Udyan and Cultural Walk, Biodiversity Zone, Udyan Lake, forested ecological areas, and active spaces such as an amphitheatre, food court, maze garden, meditation pavilion, play courts, and outdoor fitness areas.

A network of elevated nature walks, cycling tracks, and secondary pathways creates diverse visitor experiences. Landscape strategies focus on regeneration through Miyawaki forests, oxygen-rich plantations, thematic gardens, and aviaries. Entering active development in 2026, Rashtrapati Udyan will emerge as one of North India’s most significant public parks.

7. Taj Hotel, Lucknow

Taj Lucknow represents the expansion of one of the city’s most iconic hospitality landmarks at Vipin Khand. The project adds 96 luxury keys across approximately 100,000 square feet, extending the legacy of the existing Taj property while responding to its prominent setting overlooking the Ambedkar Memorial Park and Gomti Nagar riverfront.

The architecture builds on the hotel’s classical vocabulary through symmetry, proportion, and a refined façade language featuring arches, rectilinear windows, and corniced parapets. A double-height arched colonnade defines the arrival experience, while guest rooms are oriented toward landscaped courts and green edges. The planning emphasises clarity, natural light, and understated luxury, creating an addition that is both contemporary and contextually grounded.

Looking Ahead

Across these seven projects, a clear architectural philosophy emerges. CP Kukreja Architects continues to view architecture as a catalyst for shaping institutions, cities, and landscapes—balancing innovation with sensitivity to culture, heritage, and ecology. As these developments progress through 2026, they are poised to contribute lasting references to India’s built environment and strengthen the country’s architectural narrative.

December 2025 GST Collections Dip 4.3% MoM; Domestic Activity Shows Year-on-Year Stability

By:-Karthik Mani, Partner, Indirect tax at BDO India
“The net GST Collections for December, 2025 showed a drop of ~4.3% on a month on month basis, largely due to a significant increase in refunds issued as well as a slight drop in gross GST collections on domestic transactions. While the GST collections on imports have shown an uptick in December 2025, it was not sufficient to cover the shortfall in domestic collections due to increased refunds and reduced gross GST collections. However, the gross GST collections on domestic transactions for December 2025 have largely remained flat on year on year basis, despite impact on revenue in current period due to major rate cuts in September 2025, indicating some improvement in the economic activity on a year on year basis. Next few months should give a decent indication of new normal monthly GST collections, after adjusting for rate cuts.
