According to official sources, the 2017-batch Odisha cadre IPS officer has been selected for appointment as Joint Deputy Director in the Intelligence Bureau. The Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) has granted the necessary clearance for her deputation, enabling her transition to the new national-level assignment.

Currently serving as the SP of the STF, Swathy Kumar has been at the forefront of several high-profile operations involving organized crime, narcotics trafficking, cybercrime, wildlife offences and other sensitive investigations. She was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the elite anti-crime unit by the Odisha Home Department on May 24, in recognition of her professional competence and leadership abilities.

Her selection for a key role in the Intelligence Bureau is being viewed as a testament to her distinguished service record and expertise in intelligence-led policing.
