World Environment Day with Mangrove Planting Initiative

Kochi, 5th June 2024: In celebration of World Environment Day, Aster Medcity, in collaboration with Kadamakkudy Grama Panchayat and Aster Volunteers-CSR wing of Aster DM Healthcare, launched a green initiative under the campaign ‘Aster Green Choices’ by planting mangrove saplings in Kadamakkudy. Through this initiative, 25 acres of public fish bund are being protected. The event was inaugurated by P Rajeev, Minister for Industries and Law, Kerala State.

Highlighting the importance of conservation, P Rajeev, Minister for Industries and Law, Kerala State, stated, “The conservation efforts by Aster Medcity are commendable. Such initiatives are crucial for protecting our environment and promoting sustainable practices.”

“Our commitment to environmental sustainability is reflected in initiatives like these. We believe that every small step towards greener practices can have a significant impact on our community and the planet. The planting of mangrove saplings is a step towards enhancing the local ecosystem, and supporting marine life,” said Farhaan Yasin, Vice President of Aster India.

Latheef Kasim, Assistant General Manager of Aster DM Foundation, Dhanya Syamalan- Aster Medcity Head of Operations along with other hospital staff, also attended the event. The participation of the local community, Grampanchayat representatives, Agricultural department officials and Aster Volunteers highlighted the collective effort required for environmental conservation.
