Idukki, September 17, 2026: Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON) has crossed the milestone of 10,000 connections in Idukki, marking a significant step forward in the district’s digital connectivity journey. KFON has so far provided a total of 10,169 connections across households, government institutions and other categories in the district.
Of the total connections, 7,952 are household connections, reflecting the growing reach of affordable and reliable broadband services among families in the district. KFON has also provided 404 connections to economically weaker section (EWS) households and 544 connections to government institutions, strengthening digital access across residential and public-service networks.
The expansion assumes particular significance in Idukki, where the district’s hilly terrain and geographically dispersed settlements can pose challenges to infrastructure development. KFON has extended its network to several such areas, bringing stable internet connectivity closer to communities across the district. Improved connectivity can support access to digital education, employment opportunities, online government services, healthcare and other essential digital platforms. As the network expands further, KFON aims to bridge digital gaps and make reliable high-speed internet more accessible to households and institutions across urban, rural and remote regions of Idukki, contributing to Kerala’s broader efforts towards digital inclusion.
Residents can register for a new household connection through the My KFON mobile app or the KFON website. Registrations can also be made through the toll-free number 1800 570 4466. For more information on KFON plans and offers, users can visit the official website.
