YoloBus Sees Shift in Traveler Demographics This Monsoon; Southern Religious Destinations in High Demand

3rd July, 2025 YoloBus, one of India’s leading intercity mobility platforms, is witnessing a noticeable shift in traveler preferences this monsoon, with a surge in demand for routes to key southern religious destinations such as Tirupati, Madurai, and Rameswaram.

To meet this rising interest, YoloBus is currently operating 25 dedicated services on these routes and has announced plans to introduce 10 additional services in the coming months.

A standout trend is emerging on the Bangalore–Tirupati corridor, which has recorded an 8% week-on-week increase in passenger flow. In response, YoloBus has deployed three new premium buses on this high-demand route, reaffirming its commitment to comfort, safety, and convenience.

“Southern India continues to draw travelers for its spiritual and cultural depth. The growth we’re seeing is aligned with long-term preferences, not just short-term reactions,” said Sanjay Jadoun, CEO, YoloBus“We’re committed to expanding our network and enhancing the travel experience for our passengers across the region.”

While the company does not yet serve Kerala destinations such as Kochi, Munnar, or Alappuzha, or pilgrim hubs like Sabarimala, Velankanni, and Palani, YoloBus is actively monitoring demand trends and exploring future expansion opportunities.

Changing Traveler Profiles

YoloBus is also observing a shift in traveler demographics, with increased bookings from families and senior citizens particularly from metro cities like Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Notably, 12% of YoloBus’s passengers are now above the age of 45, underscoring growing trust in the brand’s safety and comfort standards among older travelers.

Despite recent safety-related concerns in some parts of Northern India, travel to the South remains steady and unaffected. The region’s peaceful, culturally rich destinations continue to draw travelers, independent of external events.
