New Delhi 09th Dec 2023 – GD Goenka University proudly announces the inauguration of the Centre for Excellence in Occupational Health, Safety, Fire & Environment (C-OHSFE) by the esteemed Union Minister Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur.

The facility, dedicated to promoting the study of occupational health & safety and risk engineering, was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister while he visited the university as Chief Guest for their 9th Convocation Ceremony.

During the inauguration, the Honourable Minister emphasised the crucial role of fitness in shaping the nation. Aircraft Model: The facility is equipped with a Crash Fire Tender (CFT) for firefighting purposes during aircraft landings, minimizing the risk of fire.

Vertical Oil Storage Tank: A Vertical Oil Storage Tank with a foam pourer system has been installed in the fire drill ground, addressing fire risks in industries with various types of tanks.

Confined Space Entry Model: Ensuring worker safety in confined spaces is prioritized with the installation of a model for confined space entry and rescue training.

Smoke House: A dedicated Smoke House simulates real-life scenarios during building fires, providing realistic training for rescue operations in environments with smoke, fumes, and vapors.

Different Categories of Fire Trays: Live demonstrations at the fire drill ground showcase various fire types, guiding students on the proper use of fire extinguishers for different classes of fires.

Fire Lab: The state-of-the-art Fire Lab features a variety of firefighting equipment, fire suits, Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), fire detectors, hydrant accessories, and fire extinguishers for hands-on demonstrations.

Industrial Hygiene Lab: The lab is equipped with advanced monitoring tools, including Combo PM 10 and PM 2.5 samplers, Handy Sampler for air monitoring, Sound level meter, Benzene sampler, Multi- gas analyzer, Stack Sampler, and Weather Monitoring equipment for practical applications.

Indore, 8th December 2023: Recently, SVKM’s NMIMS Indore’s School of Technology Management and Engineering (STME) hosted an educational and informative National Level Workshop on “Grant Writing, IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) and Publication Strategy”. The week-long workshop was designed for faculty members, research scholars and professionals from research organizations and industry. The workshop was graced by guest speakers from renowned National Universities and National Research Centres, who included, Adv. Kolkata, 7th December 2023 Techno India Group, the largest private education group in Eastern India, hosted the 3rd edition of Techno Olympica Knights, a 6-day gala sports event. The mega sporting event featured over 1000 students from 70 schools across West Bengal.

India, Pune: FLAME University hosted a distinguished public lecture by Mr. Sanjeev Sanyal, Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), on the topic ‘Process Reforms: Big Impact from Small Changes’.

Discussions on economic reforms often emphasise large-scale structural changes, such as those initiated during India’s economic liberalisation in 1991. However, there’s a less acknowledged category called ‘process reforms,’ which are microeconomic, sector-specific improvements aiming to simplify and enhance operational efficiency. Unlike structural reforms, process reforms don’t overhaul the overall economic framework but focus on making existing systems work better. The public lecture addressed the oversight of process reforms in economic literature and highlighted their potential for significant positive impact, showcasing how small, targeted changes can lead to notable improvements in economic performance.

Speaking at the event was Prof. Dishan Kamdar, Vice-Chancellor, of FLAME University, who said, “At FLAME University, our unwavering commitment is to cultivate an ecosystem of creating and sharing knowledge through the exchange of thoughts and ideas by inviting distinguished subject experts and dynamic leaders from all walks of life through specially curated events. Mr. Sanyal, recognized for his expertise in urban dynamics and honoured with the Eisenhower Fellowship in 2007, brings over two decades of experience in financial markets, earning the title of Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos. His talk focuses on process reforms, aiming to simplify and streamline operational processes, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of specific activities within an individual sector or issue.”

Speaking about the topic, Mr. Sanjeev Sanyal said, “In India, the initiation of structural reforms dates back to the liberalisation efforts of 1991. Conversely, a less acknowledged realm of reforms exists known as ‘process reforms’. These reforms are nuts-and-bolts reforms, often microeconomic in nature, with a specific focus on an individual sector or issue. This category constitutes the focus of my public lecture here.”

Mr. Sanyal was the Principal Economic Adviser to the Finance Minister for five years until February 2022 and the Co-Chair of the G20’s Framework Working Group. Before joining the government, he spent over two decades in financial markets and was the Global Strategist and Managing Director at Deutsche Bank. An alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, Mr. Sanyal later attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship in 2007 for his work on urban dynamics. In 2010, he was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos. He is the author of several best-selling books, including Land of the Seven Rivers, The Ocean of Churn, India in the Age of Ideas, and the Indian Renaissance. He has also published over two hundred articles and columns in leading national and international publications.

Also sharing his thoughts was Prof. Yugank Goyal, Faculty of Public Policy, FLAME University, who said, “It is important for public policy researchers to begin paying attention to ‘process reforms’ which Mr. Sanyal highlights. Even with small interventions, significant gains can be made for ‘ease of living’ for many people. The researcher needs to be precise in identifying and excavating the policy bottlenecks and resolving them.”

After a thorough evaluation by a distinguished panel of judges, the winners emerged as true stars in their respective categories.

In the Ms. University category, Ms. Mohini Kshirsagar claimed the coveted title, with Ms. Tanisha Sathe and Ms. Ishwari Gondkar securing the positions of First and Second Runner Up, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Mr. University category, Mr. Prem Golande stood out as the winner, followed by Mr. Karan Maske as the First Runner Up and Mr. Aarush Bagade as the Second Runner Up.

The College Idol Winners were also celebrated, with The Endless Crew taking the top spot, Angel’s Crew as the First Runner Up, and Anand Broadway B Boyz securing the Second Runner Up position.

Speaking of the occasion, Dr. Karna Upadhyay, Centre Head at NIEM Pune and Franchise Head, All India, said, “The winners have not only showcased skills but also a deep understanding of the event industry, embodying the values that NIEM stands for.”

The event also featured esteemed guests, including Chief Guests; Sunny Nimhan (Owner of Sunny’s World), Daisy Shah (Bollywood Actress), Vishal Malhotra (famous Actor and Model), Sharad Sankla (commonly known as Abdul from TMKOC) and Atharva Sudame (Digital Influencer) other Judges such as : Mr. Sandip Soparrkar (legendary Dance Choreographer), Mr. Pranav Misshra ( Bollywood Actor – Kerala Story Fame), Ms. Priyadarshini Indalkar ( Hasya Jatra Fame), Mr. Shyam Mashalkar (Actor and Model), MR. Sandeep Dharma ( Ace Fashion Choreographer) and Mr. Subhash Dhang ( Ace Dance Choreographer) were also a part of the event.

Kolkata, 1st December 2023: Techno India Group, the largest private education group in Eastern India, inaugurated the third edition of the inter-school sports competition – Techno Olympica Knights. This mega sporting event will have over 1000 students participating from 70 schools across West Bengal. This 6-day event will conclude on 4th December, 2023. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Ms. Piyali Basak, Indian Mountaineer, Shri Satyarup Siddhant, Indian Mountaineer, Shri Premjit Sen, Referee & judge, World Karate Federation & Asian Karate Federation &Prof Manoshi Roychowdhury Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group.

The event started with a lamp lighting ceremony by the esteemed guests followed by Techno Olympica Knights Torch lighting on the campus ground, to mark the commencement of the event.

Techno India Group aims at giving equal emphasis in the development of BODY, MIND & SPIRIT of the students to fulfil the objective of “Touching lives, making a difference”. There are awards for the top 3 schools in terms of medal tally with Trophies & Cash Prizes. The three Mega Trophies are worth Rs 50000/-, Rs 30000/- and Rs 20000/- respectively. Also, there will be prizes for Best Performers, The Best Cheering School and Fair Play. A Special Cash Prize of Rs 5000/- along with a Trophy will be given to the school with best average point at medal tally (minimum 5 games attempted). Apart from these, individual medals and certificates will also be given. This year, Techno Olympica Knights has two new additions to the prize categories where they would be providing Full Scholarship and assistance in undergraduate or Post Graduate Programmes in Techno India University, West Bengal or Selected Techno India Group Institutions as per norms for the Best Performer Boy & Best Performer Girl.

The competition will feature sports like 5-a-Side Football, Volley Ball, Hockey, Table tennis, Badminton, Long Jump, Discuss throw, Individual Race/Relay Race, Free Style Swimming, Archery & Chess will be held in the following categories – Boys, Girls, Junior & Senior sections. The event is being held across multiple locations including Techno India, Salt Lake Main Campus, Spuddy Badminton Academy, Sports Authority of India (SAI) Complex and Subhas Sarovar.
