The first film, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah 3D Animated Movie: Gokuldham to Galacto, will release on December 31, followed by Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah 3D Animated Movie: The Big Fat Alien Wedding on January 26. Both films will be available on YouTube in six languages – Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, supporting wider reach across regions, age groups and digital-first audiences.

These releases mark Neela Mediatech’s entry into feature-length 3D animation. Building on the successful traction of its animated rhymes, the company is now investing in long-format storytelling designed for sustained digital consumption, repeat viewing, and platform-led growth.

Asit Kumarr Modi, Founder, Neela Mediatech, while commenting on the development said

TMKOC was created to bring families together and offer relief from everyday stress through simple, relatable stories. Animation allows us to carry that intent forward for children who are growing up on digital platforms today. For me, this is about ensuring that the emotional meaning behind the show community, warmth, and shared joy continues to resonate across generations, regardless of format.”

“The strength of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has always been its characters and the emotional bond audiences share with them. Animation gives us the freedom to explore those characters in new ways, experiment with humour, and reach newer audiences over time. These two films are just the beginning of how we want to build this vertical. Digital platforms like YouTube support that journey by enabling steady growth through discovery and repeat viewing at scale,” said Harjeet Chhabra, CEO, Neela Mediatech.

The films place familiar TMKOC characters in new narrative settings while retaining the humour and community-led storytelling associated with the franchise. Each title functions independently while contributing to a larger animation pipeline planned by the company.

With this launch, Neela Mediatech continues to structure TMKOC as a multi-format digital business, with animation positioned as a sustained growth driver alongside gaming, children’s content, and learning-led platforms.

The footage later cuts to a slow-motion replay to highlight the speed and unnatural shape of the anomaly. Moments after the incident, the atmosphere on set visibly shifts as the team’s flashlight malfunctions, leaving the investigators shaken. Surmandal: 56 Years of Musical Excellence and a living legacy of Indian Classical Music

Hyderabad, Dec 23: Surmandal has played a pivotal role in turning Hyderabad into a classical music capital. This Hyderabad-based cultural organisation, dedicated to Indian classical music and dance, was founded in 1969 by Shri Mohan Hemmadi with the blessings of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Surmandal is not just an organisation; it is a cultural conscience.

For over five decades, Surmandal has functioned as a platform for preserving, promoting, and presenting Indian classical traditions. It has curated high-quality concerts featuring legendary maestros as well as emerging artists, helping shape Hyderabad into an important centre for classical music appreciation.

surmandal

Surmandal is a non-profit cultural institution that organises Indian classical music and dance concerts, nurtures young and upcoming artists, honours and preserves the legacy of great maestros, and builds informed and appreciative classical music audiences.

One of Hyderabad’s longest-running classical music organisations, Surmandal has hosted concerts by icons such as Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Smt. M. S. Subbulakshmi, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Dr. Balamuralikrishna, and Ustad Bismillah Khan. It has actively integrated music into the city’s identity by helping name Hyderabad streets after legendary musicians. Known for its aesthetic discipline, intimate concert settings, and cultural integrity, Surmandal continues its journey today under the stewardship of Mr. Siddharth Hemmadi, carrying forward the vision of its founder, Shri Mohan Hemmadi, who is no more.

Surmandal marked its Golden Jubilee on 5 January 2019, commemorating 50 years of uninterrupted service. As part of the celebrations, the organisation paid tribute to Annapurna Devi and Pandit V. G. Jog, acknowledging their immense contribution to Hindustani classical music.

Its 57th anniversary is close on its heels in January. January also marks Triveni Season 3, presented in association with Canara Bank and Parinishtaa Eco Solutions, to be held on 4 January 2026 at Ravindra Bharati. The concert will feature Shri Kaushiki Chakraborty, accompanied by leading accompanists.

Adding a deeply meaningful dimension, renowned Hyderabad-based painter Shri Sachin Jaltare will create a live artwork during the performance. The painting will support Sparsh Hospice, a centre for terminally ill cancer patients—an initiative close to Shri Mohan Hemmadi ji’s heart and supported by the Rotary Club of Banjara Hills.

At a time when platforms for Indian classical music were limited in the city, Shri Mohan Hemmadi envisioned an institution that would do more than organise concerts. His dream was to shape a cultural consciousness—to create discerning audiences, nurture talent, and ensure that classical music remained a living, breathing presence in everyday life. Today, Surmandal has become synonymous with authentic Indian classical music festivals, remembered as much for their artistic rigour as for their intimate, soulful ambience.

Surmandal was established with the blessings of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, whose towering presence in Hindustani classical music symbolised uncompromising excellence. The very first Surmandal concert featured Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, marking an auspicious and historic beginning. That single event set the tone for everything that followed—excellence without compromise and tradition without stagnation.

The second concert in 1970 featured a young prodigy from Assam, underlining Surmandal’s early and enduring commitment to nurturing emerging talent alongside established maestros. Over the decades, this delicate balance—between reverence for legends and faith in the future—became the organisation’s defining hallmark.

“From its first concert with Pandit Bhimsen Joshi to nurturing young talent today, Surmandal remains timeless.”

Through Surmandal, Mohan Hemmadi brought some of the greatest names in Indian classical music to Hyderabad. Over the years, audiences witnessed performances by luminaries such as Smt. M. S. Subbulakshmi, Pt. Ravi Shankar, Dr. Balamuralikrishna, Shri Chitti Babu, and many other giants who shaped the golden eras of Indian classical music.

These concerts were not merely performances—they were cultural milestones. With their disciplined presentation, respectful silences, and discerning listeners, Surmandal events cultivated a refined listening culture. For many Hyderabadis, their first encounter with Hindustani classical music’s towering figures happened under the Surmandal banner.

Gradually, Hyderabad emerged as a significant destination on India’s classical music map—not because of spectacle, but because of sustained and sincere curation.

Surmandal’s contribution extended far beyond concert halls. One of its most visionary initiatives was advocating the naming of city roads and landmarks after legendary musicians, including Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Bismillah Khan, and Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.

These roads—located at Basheerbagh Crossing and Ramkote—were inaugurated by stalwarts such as Dr Balamuralikrishna, Shri K. Vishwanath, and Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. The initiative embedded classical music into the city’s everyday geography, ensuring that cultural memory lived not only in archives or recordings, but in the streets, people walk every day.

Indian Classical Music lovers in the city have requested the Government of Telangana to name Road No. 14 in Banjara Hills, where Mr. Mohan Hemmadi lived, after him. Surmandal made a formal request to the government some time ago and they reiterated the same now.

“Some cities remember their musicians through recordings—Hyderabad remembers them through its streets.”

Mohan Hemmadi, the man behind the movement for over 54 years, dedicated his life to preserving and propagating Indian classical music. His vision was clear and unwavering: to make classical music accessible to all, to create meaningful platforms for young talent, and to preserve the dignity and depth of the tradition.

“Mohan Hemmadi believed classical music should belong to everyone—and he lived that belief for 54 years.”

Surmandal continues to curate five to six concerts annually, encompassing vocal and instrumental traditions. Its flagship Triveni Concert Series, held every January, ushers in the New Year with a confluence of music and dance, bringing together legendary maestros and rising stars on one stage.

Seasonal presentations such as Barkha Rang, celebrating the monsoon through evocative ragas, and Morning Raaga, offering rare dawn recitals, provide audiences with unique listening experiences. Intimate, members-only concerts at venues such as the Sailing Annexe and Secunderabad Club further deepen the bond between artists and connoisseurs.

Collaborative initiatives—including Uttar Dakshin with Vivid Arts, Sur Sapthak with Sapthak Bangalore, and the Mohan Mitra Mahotsav with the Mitra Foundation—have enriched Hyderabad’s cultural landscape through dialogue and partnership.

Today, Mr Siddharth Hemmadi, son of Mohan Hemmadi, is carrying forward this remarkable legacy with sensitivity and purpose. Rooted in the same values of authenticity and excellence, Siddharth represents a new generation of cultural stewardship—one that understands tradition while engaging with contemporary audiences. Under his guidance, Surmandal continues to evolve without diluting its ethos, remaining relevant in changing times while staying true to its founding vision.

In an era of fleeting attention and fast-changing tastes, Surmandal stands as a living institution—a reminder that classical music thrives when nurtured with sincerity, patience, and vision.

We are also planning to foray into Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and other cities. We would like to extend our footprint to different genres such as Sufi, Ghazals, Kavvali etc. The pandemic has taken on the mental health of the people and issues related to depression, anxiety, and uncertainty, which lead to frustration which not no medicine can help. It also made people realise how much they have been missing music. And it is said, medicines cure, but MUSIC HEALS. The troubled souls need solace.

Listening to music relaxes, eases pain. Humans are hard-wired to respond to music. “If music were a drug, it would be marketable. Music is a noninvasive, safe, cheap intervention that should be available to everyone undergoing surgery, Siddharth said.

As it completes 56 years, Surmandal continues to honour the past, nurture the present, and inspire the future—ensuring that the timeless traditions of Indian classical music remain not only remembered, but deeply lived.

Paramount and Netflix Boast Double-Digit Gains in Nielsen’s November Media Distributor Gauge

Nielsen’s November 2025 Media Distributor Gauge revealed a complex television landscape defined by live sports, strategic streaming releases and the Thanksgiving holiday. Paramount and Netflix each clocked double-digit growth over October, capitalizing on strong content slates and disrupting the Media Distributor rankings this month.

Paramount recorded a 14% increase in overall viewing in November and finished the month with its largest share of TV since April, capturing 8.9% of total watch-time and climbing to No. 3 in the Media Distributor Gauge rankings. Paramount’s 0.7-point gain was the largest among all distributors, and was fueled equally by its broadcast and streaming properties. CBS affiliates and Paramount+ each climbed over 18%, contributing 0.5 and 0.2 share points, respectively, to Paramount’s total.

Netflix also delivered a robust performance in November, notching this month’s second-highest viewing gain (up 10%) to add 0.3 share points and achieve 8.3% of TV. While the return of Netflix’s iconic series Stranger Things provided the largest viewing impact with nearly 12 billion viewing minutes on its own, the streamer also benefited from its depth of content. Netflix’s new original series The Beast in Me, and new Frankenstein film reimagined by Guillermo del Toro, combined for nearly 7 billion viewing minutes across the month.

Hallmark produced a 28% viewing gain in November and set the mark for the highest percentage viewing increase this month. Hallmark benefited from its signature slate of holiday movies and its original series, Mistletoe Murders, all of which led to 0.2 additional share points for 1.2% of total TV watch-time.

Despite the shifts below them, YouTube and Disney retained the top two rankings with 12.9% and 10.5% of TV, respectively. YouTube’s share of TV remained unchanged month-over-month. Disney dropped 0.9 share points, largely due to ABC affiliates and ESPN declines attributable to the carriage interruption from the YouTube TV dispute.

NBCUniversal (NBCU) posted a strong month with a 7% increase in overall viewing, capturing its largest total since October 2024 with 8.8% of TV viewing (+0.2 pts.). NBCU’s gains were driven by a 22% surge in streaming on Peacock, largely fueled by NFL Sunday Night Football coverage, Thanksgiving Day programming, and its new original drama series All Her Fault. Peacock achieved a non-Olympic monthly record 1.9% share of television in November, as reported in Nielsen’s The Gauge.

FOX navigated a month of disproportionate swings across its broadcast and cable properties in November. FOX broadcast affiliates were up 22% versus October, led by the Thanksgiving Day NFL matchup between Green Bay and Detroit, and World Series Games 4 through 7, where the final game ranked as the sixth most-viewed telecast of the month. On the cable side, Fox News Channel viewership was down 9% compared to last month, and FS1 was impacted by the absence of the MLB Postseason. Overall, FOX finished the month with a net gain of 2.4%, but due to the larger increase of overall TV usage (+5.5%), ceded 0.3 share points to finish with 8.1% of TV in November.

The November 2025 interval spanned five weeks, from 10/27/2025 through 11/30/2025. Nielsen reporting follows the broadcast calendar, with weekly intervals beginning on Monday.

Between Fear and Truth: Here is Why Bhay- The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery Feels Uncomfortably Real; streaming on Amazon MX Player

Mumbai, India –Dec 13: Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming service, drops a story that lingers long after the credits roll. Bhay – The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery pulls from the real life and sudden, mysterious death of India’s first paranormal investigator, Gaurav Tiwari. A man who devoted his career to decoding fear, only to become the subject of a chilling enigma himself.

Why Bhay- The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery Feels Uncomfortably Real

Told through the eyes of a journalist, Irene Venkat played by Kalki Koechlin, retracing his final days, the show doesn’t try to be loud or dramatic. Instead, it keeps things close to reality, letting silence, questions, and small discoveries build the tension. And here’s why it deserves a spot on your watchlist:

A True Story That Hits Harder Than Fiction: What makes Bhay – The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery unsettling isn’t the loudness of the horror. It’s the fact that all of it stands on documented events. Gaurav’s investigations, his encounters, his sudden death, every eerie reveal feels less like fiction and more like testimony.

Horror Backed by Science, Not Performed: Unlike typical supernatural dramas, Bhay – The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery leans heavily into the investigative side of the paranormal. EMF meters, handheld cameras, frequency detectors, and real-world techniques give the show a grounded, almost documentary-like edge, making the fear feel earned rather than manufactured.

Karan Tacker At His Most Unsettling: Leading the series as Gaurav Tiwari, Karan Tacker delivers a performance that feels intense and deeply internal. Backed by Kalki Koechlin and a strong ensemble that features Danish Sood, Saloni Batra, Nimisha Nair and Shubham Chaudhary, the cast brings a raw, believable energy to a world that constantly walks the line between reality and the unknown.

A Story Logic vs Faith: At the heart of Bhay – The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery is a powerful tension, the battle between logic and faith. Through Irene’s investigation, the show sits right at the fault line between skepticism and belief. She enters as a rational observer, but the deeper she looks, the thinner the boundary between the living and whatever watches back.

Streaming Free on Amazon MX Player: Step into the world of Bhay – The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery, where unexplained deaths, haunted spaces, and chilling investigations unfold for absolutely free. No subscription is required to follow the journey of Gaurav Tiwari, a man who dared to chase the unknown and paid the price for it — only on Amazon MX Player

Experience a series that blurs the line between fear and fact as Bhay – The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery is now available to stream for free on Amazon MX Player via the MX Player app, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, Smart TVs, and Airtel Xstream.
