The Parampara Series 2024 from December 4 to December 6, 2024 at Kamani Auditorium displayed creative presentations from renowned artists and torchbearers of their respective traditions.

Punjabi music sensation AP Dhillon ignited the stage at MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai on 7th December 2024, marking the triumphant start of his highly anticipated Brownprint India Tour. Presented and produced by White Fox India, the sold-out concert, attended by over 20,000 enthusiastic fans, showcased Dhillon’s undeniable talent and marked a spectacular return to the Indian stage after a three-year absence.

With captivating sets from young music gems Wazir Putar and Nikita Gandhi, Mumbaikars were primed for AP Dhillon’s highly anticipated headlining performance. Every actor dives deep into their character, finding ways to connect with the role while overcoming its unique challenges. Reyaansh Vir Chadha, who takes on the intriguing lead role of a Tantrik, recently opened up about the fascinating balance between what makes him similar to his character and what sets them worlds apart.

Reeyansh shares with a warm smile, “This isn’t just another show, it’s something truly unique, unlike any typical social drama. My character is a complete 360-degree personality. He doesn’t just follow a straight path; he’s full of layers, making him incredibly relatable with everyone. He reacts based on the situation, which feels so real. What I love most is his mix of vulnerability and kindness, qualities I genuinely connect with. He’s practical, sorted, and always knows what he’s doing, just like me! Life has taught me to stay grounded and clear-headed. I’m not one to get stuck in confusion; I prefer a practical, straightforward approach, and that’s something my character and I share.”

He further added,”I don’t find it challenging to switch between characters, it comes naturally to me. Personally, I’m not a believer in cults, Tantra, or anything like that; it just doesn’t resonate with me. So, when I play such a character, I make sure to convince myself of it. The character I play is extremely talkative, which is the total opposite of me in real life. I’m calm, peaceful, and far from hyperactive, I like to stay in control of my energy and vibe. That’s the biggest difference between me and the character:”

Speaking about their incredible bond, Maitri shares, “Brinda and I are like soul sisters, and we have so much in common. Whenever I go to Brinda’s room, the music automatically starts playing, and as soon as it does, I look at her, she looks at me, and we just start vibing together. Whenever we get even a little free time, we make reels. We’ve made so many dance reels together! Even in Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, when our characters compete for Kartik in a positive-negative way, dance somehow gets added to the mix.”

She further added, “We often end up doing dance sequences together, and even the Sun Neo channel knows how much we enjoy dancing—they sometimes tell us to perform just because of it! There are times when we choreograph our own dance sequences, and we complete the choreography in just 5 minutes. The choreographers who come on set say that it usually takes an entire day to finish a dance sequence, but the two of us wrap up the entire shoot in just 3 hours. We’re like two little firecrackers when it comes to dancing!”

Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya follows the journey of Vaishnavi, an orphan who finds solace and strength in her unwavering faith in Chhathi Maiyya (portrayed by Sneha Wagh), who serves as a mother figure in her life. Pankaj’s creations delve deeply into themes of creation, transformation, and renewal, portraying nature’s cycles through bold grids, rhythmic geometric patterns, and textured layers of materials such as charcoal dust, rice paper, and cloth fragments. His works reflect the ancient Vedic concept of Brahmand—the primal state of the universe—capturing the ceaseless ebb and flow of the natural world.

“Nature is always in motion,” shares Pankaj. “Even though it repeats itself, no two moments are ever truly the same. Painting allows me to connect with that energy and express it—it’s how I understand the world’s constant evolution.”

Born in rural India, Pankaj’s early experiences with nature deeply influenced his artistic journey. A graduate of Banaras Hindu University, his exhibitions across India have earned him widespread acclaim. His art speaks to those who find beauty in the subtle yet transformative cycles of life.

Mohit Jain reflected on his association with the artist:
“My first encounter with Pankaj’s work was in 2007, but I rejected it outright as it seemed derivative. However, when he returned in 2009 with a fresh body of work, I was struck by its originality and power. His first solo exhibition in 2014 was a resounding success. Pankaj’s evolution as an artist has been remarkable, and it’s an honor to curate his second solo exhibition today.”

Prominent guests at the event included Manju Mansheet Rai, Suvir Saran, Shamain Singh, Ashok Vajpayee, and Niladri Paul. The gathering witnessed engaging conversations around Pankaj’s distinctive style, which fuses abstraction with profound philosophical insights.
