Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates BHARAT TEX 2024

February 27, 2024, New Delhi: BHARAT TEX 2024, a global textile mega event in the textile industry, was officially launched today at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This monumental event is orchestrated by a collaborative effort of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils, with backing from the Ministry of Textiles. Built on the twin pillars of trade and investment and with an overarching focus on sustainability, the 4-day event promises to be a tapestry of tradition and technology, attracting, besides policymakers and global CEOs, over 3,500 exhibitors, over 3,000 buyers from over 50 countries, and more than 40,000 trade visitors from 100 countries. An exhibition spread across nearly 2 million sq ft of area and encompassing the entire textile value chain, will help position India as a global powerhouse in textiles, showcasing its capabilities and generating momentum throughout the entire Indian textiles ecosystem.

Gateway Literary Festival to Commemorate Golden Jubilee of First Jnanpith Award

Mumbai, February 27, 2024: Mumbai’s Gateway LitFest, which will be held on March 1-2 at the Convocation Hall, Mumbai University Fort Campus, will organise a session to commemorate the golden jubilee of first Jnanpith Award in Marathi won by Vishnu Sakharam Khandekar’s novel ‘Yayati’ in 1974.

Gateway LitFestA 2024, 7th Edition

The discussion on the novel, ‘Impressions on Yayati’, will be held on the second day (March 2) at the 7th session of the festival, which will be led by Jnanpith Award winner of 2022 Damodar Mauzo, and renowned writer and translator Prof Sachin C Ketkar.

‘Yayati’ is a Marathi-language mythological novel that narrates the tale of the mythical Hindu king, Yayati, from the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata. Widely regarded as Khanderkar’s masterpiece, it is considered one of the greatest works in Marathi literature. The novel has received numerous accolades, including the Sahitya Akademi Award, the Jnanapith Award, and the Maharashtra State Government Award. Translations of his works are available in several languages, including English, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, and Gujarati.

Expressing his thoughts on the event, Damodar Mauzo, novelist, said, “I am very glad that Gateway LitFest is organizing such an event to celebrate the golden jubilee of VS Khandekar’s Jnanpith Award of 1974. An important aspect of this award is that the Jnanpith Committee first gave the award to his novel Yayati, and later they extended the award to all his literary contributions. In that way, the writer and his whole works were honoured.”

VS Khandekar (1898-1976) is revered as one of the greatest writers of Marathi literature. Over his nearly half-century literary career, he published 11 novels, 31 short story collections, six allegorical story collections, and 15 volumes of critical essays.

The highly anticipated Gateway LitFest (GLF) is poised to make a grand return to Mumbai on March 1st and 2nd, 2024, ending a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. IILM University’s 11th PRME International Conference Delves Into NEP 2020 And Sustainable Development

February 27th, 2024: IILM University, Greater Noida, one of the prominent educational institutions in India, successfully organised its 11th PRME International Conference on “Transformative Vision of NEP 2020 towards Inclusive and Equitable Education: Revisiting SDG 4.”

The conference was held on February 23 and 24 at the university campus. It served as a platform for comprehensive exploration and discussion of the alignment between the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) set by the United Nations.

The two-day conference was inaugurated by the chief guest, Prof. Alok Rai, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University. Tata Steel hosts Jamshedpur’s 3rd Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally

Bengaluru, February 26, 2024: the 3rd edition of Tata Steel Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally was organised today with beautiful automobiles lined up at Gopal Maidan here. The rally was organised as part of the 185th Founder`s Day celebration honouring the vision and memory of Tata Group’s founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.

Over 150 vintage and classic cars and bikes dated from 1920s to 1980s registered for the rally with participation from states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Punjab and Odisha.

The rally was flagged off by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice president Corporate Services, Tata Steel along with Probal Ghosh, Vice President, Shared Services, Tata Steel and Chaitanya Bhanu, Vice President, Steel Manufacturing, Tata Steel at Gopal Maidan today morning. Landmarks covered during the rally are Bharucha Mansion, Jubilee Park, United Club, Sir Dorabji Tata Park, Keenan Stadium and St. George’s Church traversing a distance of total 23-kms before culminating at the United Club.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the citizens of Jamshedpur who gathered in large numbers to see the vintage vehicles yesterday evening and today morning at Gopal Maidan and United Club.

Addressing the august gathering during the prize distribution ceremony at the United Club, Chaudhary said that signature events such as the Jamshedpur Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally are aligned with Tata Steel’s corporate philosophy of supporting initiatives that preserve, protect and promote cultural heritage. He added that the event not only showcases rare and beautiful machines, but also is a testament to celebrate of history and culture.

This year also, the Super Biker’s club of Jamshedpur participated in the event displaying 16 bikes including Harley Davidson, BMW, Ducati and Triumph. The biker’s included two women.
