Hyderabad, 15th Sept 2023:A team of highly experienced doctors at Yashoda Hospitals Hyderabad achieved a remarkable feat by successfully performing a complex bilateral lung transplant on Mr. ShaikGufran, a 31-year-old patient from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Gufran was facing the challenges of complicated silicosis (a progressive lung disease primarily caused by inhaling silica dust) and had a history of treated NTM (non-tuberculous mycobacterial) infection.
