Chennai, November 14, 2024: MGM Healthcare, Nelson Manickam Road, celebrated Children’s Day with a series of engaging and educational activities aimed at promoting health awareness among young students. Over 140 children from Narayana E-Techno School participated in the event, which included a mix of fun games, interactive health sessions, and hands-on learning experiences. Pediatricians, nurses, and staff joined in the celebrations, ensuring a joyful and informative experience for the children.
The day began with an interactive session led by Dr. Ezhilarasan, Senior Consultant Pediatrics and Neonatology and Dr. Deepa Esow, Senior Consultant, Pediatrician, who emphasized healthy habits such as regular handwashing and discussed the importance of balancing screen time, study time, and leisure/playtime. Through demonstrations and conversations, the doctors encouraged students to adopt healthy routines that would benefit them both now and in the future.
For younger children, especially those under the age of 8, the event featured a vibrant array of fun activities, including a delightful fashion show where they dressed up as doctors, a magic show, and art and craft stations. These activities fostered creativity and allowed the children to enjoy the day in a playful setting, while subtly reinforcing the value of health and hygiene.
Meanwhile, the senior students took part in a guided tour of the hospital. They explored various departments, from the Emergency Department to the Radiology and laboratories units, gaining valuable insights into medical procedures, the use of advanced technology, and the day-to-day operations of a hospital. This field tour provided them with a deeper understanding of healthcare and the critical role it plays in society.
MGM Healthcare organized the Children’s Day celebrations as part of its commitment to community engagement and health education. By combining fun and learning, the hospital aimed to create a memorable experience for the children and inspire a positive approach to personal health and wellness.
