Bengaluru, 07/03/2023: India’s leading Diabetes Centre, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre has announced a truly unique celebration for International Women’s Day with a social media dance challenge for women to realize the importance of healthy living with diabetes and cancer. In collaboration with Breast Imaging Society, India the contest aims to promote awareness in a fun and peppy manner for women of all ages to include a simple dance sequence in their day-to-day routine, which would have a significant impact in their later stages of life.

‘THANDAV’ is a dance routine conceptualized by Dr. R M Anjana, Managing Director, Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre and President, Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, and Dr. Ranjani Harish, Senior Scientist at Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF) aimed specifically for women and incorporates easy, repetitive and simple steps into popular Bollywood, regional and folk songs. This dance routine follows HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training, which is known to combat cardiovascular and metabolic complications. With self-care taking a backseat for women in general due to family obligations and several external factors, this daily dance routine can be enjoyed by women at the comfort of their very own homes, especially for the non-urban and conservative families.

‘This THANDAV dance challenge’ will consist of a reel making contest where participants should make a 30 seconds reel on the globally acclaimed ‘Naatu Nattu’ song of the sensational hit movie RRR. There is a 2-minute video YouTube link provided for women with THANDAV steps. They can choose any 30 secs from that video for their reel. Starting from the 8th of March, 2023, women can upload their dance video and share the same on their social media platforms with the hashtag #thandavforgoodhealth and tagging @drmohansindia.

Further details about the challenge will be announced on the social media sites of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre.
