Italian GP podium challenge ends in disappointment for Marquez

Italy, 12th June 2023 Another valiant ride from Marc Marquez went unrewarded as he fell while hunting a top-three finish, walking away disappointed but unharmed.

Marc Marquez once again lined up on the front row of the grid as the 23-lap Italian Grand Prix loomed. Temperatures had steadily risen throughout the day and Saturday’s afternoon downpour was nowhere to be seen as the Italian tricolore was painted in the sky.

The start of the race was aggressive from the top five as everyone jostled for position into the first corner, Marquez holding his own and slotting into fifth. Joined by brother Alex Marquez, Jack Miller and Luca Marini, the quartet traded places over the course of the opening laps with Marc Marquez taking any opportunity to fight for a gap. The #93 and Marini eventually managed to open a small gap over the others as they sparred for third.

Unfortunately, a moment entering the final corner would see Marquez lose the front in Turn 15, tumbling out of the race on lap six. Hugely disappointed, Marquez was unharmed in the fall and now begins to prepare for the Sachsenring and better fortunes.

“Today I was riding really well and with some margin, I was feeling comfortable and not stressed. I saw Bagnaia and Martin had escaped so I focused on staying with Marini in that group and try to achieve my goal of the top six or seven. I had a moment at Turn 10 on the first lap and then again going into the last corner before I fell. Right now we need to keep improving and keep working. Fortunately, I was not injured in the crash today and we have another race next week so it gives us a chance to keep working.”

City’s Pharma and Packaging entrepreneur Chakravarthi AVPS appointed Senior VP of FOPE

Responding to his appointment, Mr Chakravarthi AVPS said FOPE started with an objective to take up the common issues affecting the Pharma industry at the national level, with Govt. of India, various ministries and concerned departments responsible for making/changing various policies (affecting Pharma industry and profession in the country). The organization since its formation has taken up a number of issues like the rate of excise duty on finished formulations, fixed-dose combinations, spurious drugs act amendment bill, DPCO/NPPA issues etc., with the concerned departments of Govt. of India.

FOPE also has been instrumental in conducting seminars, workshops, and symposiums on regulations, the latest developments in the pharma industry, challenges meeting customer demands, and so on. He is thankful to industry stalwarts Mankind pharma chairman Mr. Ramesh Juneja, Chairman of FOPE Mr BR Sikri, chairman of Akums group Mr. DC Jain and several other founding members and mentors of FOPE.

Chakravarthi has spent more than two decades in Brand India Pharma promotion in national and international platforms, echoing ethical practices, supporting all sustainable initiatives, and promoting international trade and business relations not just in pharma & life sciences promotion, but also in patient-centric drug delivery, Co Mfg (packing), innovative pharma packaging, etc. He was awarded ‘Pharma Ratna’ for his contribution to the pharmaceutical industry.

Mr Chakravarthi AVPS is also a Global Ambassador of the World Packaging Organisation and has 38 years of overall experience in Paper, Paper boards, packaging, and sustainable initiatives. DFC aims to promote inclusive financing for EV adoption across India with its $5 million investment in Revfin.

12th June 2023: Revfin Services Private Limited, a pioneer and leader in the Indian EV Financing space has secured $5 million from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The investment is part of DFC’s Portfolio for Impact and Innovation and seeks to promote inclusive financing for EV adoption in India.

Revfin plans to finance 2 million electric vehicles in the next five years. The company has already invested in over 21800+ electric three-wheelers and elevated the living standards of underserved segments, including 24% of women borrowers. The funds raised from DFC will further bolster Revfin’s plan to emerge as a leader in India’s EV financing space and introduce new products by diversifying into two-wheelers for last-mile deliveries, four-wheelers for mid-mile cargo delivery, and ride-share taxis.

The growth of the industry is restricted due to the limited financing options.
