10th August 2023: Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad, the implementing agency for Samagra Shiksha under the Government of Haryana, has partnered with Magic Bus India Foundation, a leading non-profit organization in the education and skilling space. This collaboration aims to empower government school teachers to deliver life skills education, fostering the holistic development of adolescents in government schools across Panchkula, Gurugram, and Yamuna Nagar.

Through its teacher-led program, Magic Bus India Foundation will train approximately 1400 teachers to benefit 80,000 adolescents across 700 government schools. These teachers will then effectively impart 21st-century life skills including self-awareness, self-management, collaboration, empathy, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, assertiveness, and adaptability to adolescents from 6th to 10th grade.

Notably, the Government of Haryana has placed a strong emphasis on providing skill-based education, multi-disciplinary learning, and holistic development of adolescents which is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. With most of the schools in the state being government-run and catering to a majority of the adolescent population, this partnership marks a significant milestone.

10th August 2023: As the tech world continues its rapid evolution, NxtWave, a leading upskilling platform for software careers, organized a successful virtual Generative AI Mega Workshop to empower aspiring tech students with cutting-edge and emerging technologies. Social service and volunteering are acts of kindness benefiting the community. At international schools, students are encouraged to volunteer with numerous NGOs and schools for the underprivileged to understand societal problems and work toward the betterment of society. It greatly helps students in the long run in developing a benevolent approach in life. Here’s why social service is fundamental for students and a great learning experience:

Helps develop and learn new skills: Social work is a diverse field and students are encouraged to learn new skills such as fundraising, networking, and communication, to name a few, and multi-task accordingly. For some, volunteering during school can be a route to experience new career paths. Volunteering also helps students decipher what to pursue in university and opens up doors to several different opportunities.

Gives a sense of purpose: Participating in social service can be meaningful and interesting for students, especially when they partake in activities that they are passionate about. Volunteering also helps students develop empathy, get a sense of fulfilment when the people they work with are benefitted, and develop their character, and this, in turn, gives them a sense of accomplishment and purpose.
