Moro Hub to Collaborate with NVIDIA in developing World-Class Green AI Data Centre in UAEDubai, UAE, 15 February 2024: Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), signed an agreement with collaboration to utilise NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform and reference architecture to build a world-class green AI data centre in the UAE.

A signing ceremony to initiate the collaboration took place between Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Digital DEWA and Keith Strier, Vice President of Worldwide AI at NVIDIA, at the World Government Summit, which runs from 12 to 14 February in Dubai.

“We work in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position the UAE at the forefront of the best innovative countries worldwide. This collaboration with NVIDIA will enhance the AI capabilities of our data centres and drive us towards sustainable technology adoption. It is a significant step forward in our journey towards building resilient, future-ready solutions that support the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Emissions Strategy 2050. While this collaboration will meet the needs of today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, it will also achieve long term results to enterprises in the UAE,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

With the exponential growth of AI and data-intensive workloads across various sectors, the demand for high-performance computing solutions has surged. Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited signs PDA valuing ₹ 105 crore with Tata Communications

15th February 2024: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), one of India’s largest integrated power companies and a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has signed a power delivery agreement with Tata Communications Limited (Tata Communications), a leading communications technology (commtech) player, for an 18.75 MW AC group captive solar power plant.

The project, facilitated through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) — Nivade Windfarm Limited — has acquired an estimated order value of ₹ 105 crore. Located in Aachegaon, Maharashtra, the plant is projected to generate approximately 40 MUs of power while offsetting more than 30,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

By incorporating renewable energy sources in its energy consumption mix, Tata Communications reaffirms its commitment to environmental responsibility and adopting eco-friendly energy alternatives. While the decision to ‘go green’ demonstrates feasibility and immense benefits of sustainable energy practices, it also reflects the broader efforts within the sector to reduce environmental impact and champion a more sustainable and responsible business ecosystem.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited is strategically emphasizing on group captive projects to actively contribute to India’s ambitious target of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070, while also addressing the distinctive renewable energy requirements of clients across various sectors. GlobeTextiles plans forward integration by acquisition

Earlier this month, Globe Textile announced to launch its Right Issue of up to Rs 49 crore. The board of directors announced on January 29, 2024, that it shall issue up to 15,11,41,500 equity shares of Rs 2 face value to eligible shareholders aggregating up to Rs 49 crores. Board of Directors of the company and committee constituted for the right issue shall announce the Rights issue price, entitlement ratio, Record date for the rights issue in the due course. In the Extra-ordinary General meeting held on December 29, 2023, the company approved the increase in authorised share capital from Rs 48 crore to Rs 61 crore and alteration of the capital clause in the memorandum of association of the company.

Globe Textile has reported a revenue of Rs 399.4 crore in the year ended 2023 and has a production capacity of over 2.5 lakh sq. feet where it manufactures, 36 million meters of fabric and 2.5 million bottoms per annum. It has reported robust financial results over the years with a 10-year CAGR of 13 per cent in Revenue and 13 per cent Net Profit.

The acquisition will add state-of-the-art facilities such as highly automated industrial washing tumblers, dryers, and cutting-edge technology while adding its capabilities in processing and sample development. The development will also add a garment processing capacity of up to 20,000 units per day and 6 Lakh units per monthcontributing significantly to Globe Textile’s production capabilities.

The acquisition will make the group’s facility certified as a Zero Liquid Discharge Facility by ATIRA (Ahmedabad Textiles Industry Research Association). The company will soon obtain ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) certification, demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship.
