Waterfall Koi Ponds are the latest fad among the upscale residences

Waterfall Koi Pond

Hyderabad, 10th June 2024: The latest trend of building aesthetically designed ponds is gaining prominence among the upscale residences in the City. More and more villas are incorporating these elegant, visually appealing ponds, which add a sense of tranquility to their surroundings.

A pond in a villa offers numerous benefits that enhance the aesthetic, recreational, environmental, and valuation of the property. The picturesque landscape associated with a pond brings a sense of tranquility and harmony. The sound of a waterfall and the sight of the pond create a soothing atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and stress relief after a hard day’s work. The water feature attracts birds, butterflies, and other fauna, creating ambiance closer to nature and providing opportunities for nature observation and photography. Additionally, ponds help moderate the local climate by cooling the air during hot weather and adding humidity. A well-maintained pond can also significantly increase the property’s value, making it more attractive to potential buyers.

The fad among those wanting a pond in the backyard is the waterfall koi pond, a water garden with an integrated waterfall, designed specifically for rearing the ornamental and colorful koi fish. The waterfall element adds both aesthetic appeal and functional benefits, such as natural aeration, water circulation, reduced algae growth, etc. Both the koi fish and waterfall enhance the overall ambiance of the garden and support a balanced ecosystem within the pond. Elements like rocks and stone pathways, marginal and aquatic plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, underwater lighting, filtration systems, and aerators implanted in the pond embellish the natural beauty, provide shade and help maintain the pond’s overall health and ecological balance.

According to Syed Fahad, founder and pond designer at Aqua StudioX, who is an acknowledged specialist in designing and maintaining ponds, creating and maintaining crystal clear natural ponds involves meticulous planning and execution, including proper filtration systems, regular maintenance, and careful selection of plants and fish. Using beneficial bacteria and natural clarifiers also helps maintain water clarity.

Syed Fahad, whose services are much sought by reputed architects for the finesse and creativity he brings in, says, strategically placed rocks and greenery enhance the pond’s natural look, provide hiding spots for fish, and contribute to the biological filtration system. They also help in maintaining water temperature and reducing erosion around the pond. Regarding efforts involved in maintaining a pond, he says, weekly tasks like skimming debris and trimming plants and monthly checks on water quality and filtration systems are essential. It is also critical to monitor water quality, signs of disease afflicting fish, algae growth in summer, and plant health.

Regarding the space required for a pond, he says it depends on the number and size of koi, as well as the desired aesthetic effect. Ideally, the size of the pond can range between 100 sq ft., with decorative feature to as large as 1000 to 2500 sq ft for a more expansive koi habitat.

The cost of building a pond varies based on the size, design complexity, and materials used. Small ponds can cost as low as Rs 3 lakhs, while larger, more elaborate designs can run up to Rs 25 lakhs. The additional monthly maintenance expense ranges from a few thousand rupees and more depending on the pond size, number of fish and other paraphernalia. It includes supplies for cleaning and filtration.

Syed Fahad laying at rest any concerns about a pond at home hindering family vacations, says, the pond can be maintained even when the entire family is away by meticulous planning and deploying automated systems like timers for feeding and filtration. It’s advisable to have a professional service check on the pond periodically during extended absences, he adds.

Drawing upon over a decade long experience and executing over a hundred projects, we crafted a marvel of the creation of the waterfall Koi Pond, recently at My Home Ankura. The breathtaking water body is a harmonious blend of meticulous hardscaping and thoughtful landscaping, reflecting the immense skill and effort deployed to craft such a stunning aquatic feature, says Syed Fahad. Aqua StudioX specializes in creating crystal-clear natural koi ponds and our design ethos shines through every detail of this masterpiece, from the carefully placed rocks to the lush greenery, artfully integrated around the pond. This showcase highlights not only the beauty of water features but also the transformative power of thoughtful design in outdoor spaces. Residents and visitors alike are awestruck by the serene beauty that now graces the villa at My Home Ankura, he adds.

Hyderabad, 10th June 2024: Telangana Chamber of Events Industry (TCEI) – India`s largest Regional Events Industry Association, is hosting the 3rd Edition of the South Indian Wedding Planners Congress 3rd TCEI SIWPC GLOBAL 2024 and 7th TCEI Event Excellence Awards 2024, on June 14th and 15th, 2024 at the magnificent Hall 4 of Hitex Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad.

The Press Conference for this largest congregation of national and international Wedding Planners was addressed by Shri Jupally Krishna Rao, Hon`ble Minister for Tourism, Culture, Excise & Prohibition along with Smt K. Nikhila, IAS, Director, Department of Tourism, Govt Of Telangana; Shri K Ramesh Naidu, IPS, Managing Director TSTDC; Shri Alla Balaram Babu, President TCEI; Shri Ravi Bura, General Secretary, TCEI; Shri TG Srikanth, Head Hitex, at a formal ceremony held today at The Plaza, Paryatak Bhavan, Green Lands, Ameerpet, Hyderabad. Also present on the occasion were members of TCEI spearheading the 2 projects namely Shri Sai Shravan Madiraju, Convenor-SIWPC Global 2024; Shri Ramm K Muppana, Convenor, TCEI Event Excellence Awards 2024; Shri Hirish Reddy, Co-Convenor, Shri Kumar Raja: Co-Convenor, Shri Saurab Sureka, Co-Convenor and Shri Sudhakar Yarabadi, Co-Convenor. The gathering paid rich tributes to Shri Ramoji Rao, for his initiatives in making the event industry in Hyderabad flourish.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Jupally Krishna Rao said, its an honor and privilege for Telangana, especially Hyderabad, the hub of MICE, to host such a prestigious convention of the South Indian Wedding Planners, the 3rd TCEI SIWPC GLOBAL 2024 and the 7th TCEI Event Excellence Awards 2024, on June 14th and 15th, 2024 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre. Though Telangana is acknowledged as the hub of destination weddings, it is mostly restricted to in and around Hyderabad. During the wedding season, all the resorts located in the surroundings of Hyderabad are fully packed, in fact, people from all over India are celebrating their family’s lifetime cherishable wedding occasion at Hyderabad. The interior of Telangana has several destinations with exceptional scenic beauty, like Nagarjuna Sagar, the largest irrigation project spread across 2000 acres, is a scenic beauty offering excellent viewpoint of valleys, and greenery coupled with rich mystery of Mahayana Buddhism. It is a sacred place for many Asian countries that embrace Mahayana Buddhism, it presents excellent scope for projecting it as an international wedding destination, especially among the countries practicing Buddhism, The Telangana Government is willing to actively support such an initiative. The rich and famous in the country are spending millions of rupees on destination weddings abroad, we need to tap this segment and showcase our own rich and scenic destinations. In my constituency Kolhapur, located 160 km from Hyderabad, the backwaters of Krishna River spread over a 150 km stretch with both sides having scenic greenery and hilly terrain presents an opportunity to have a voyage of visual treat on boats. Tourism is one area that is neglected for the last ten years in Telangana, under the leadership of our chief minister Revanth Reddy Garu we are actively working towards making Telangana a global tourism hub and the ultimate destination for weddings. Telangana has immense potential to be the hub of medical tourism, eco-tourism, spiritual tourism, MICE tourism. In this direction, we are inviting investors to develop the potential tourist spots on a PPP basis, which will create more employment avenues to Telangana youth. I am extremely excited about the largest South Indian Wedding Planners Congress, the 3rd TCEI SIWPC GLOBAL 2024, which I am confident will unleash the true potential of Telangana, with several national and internationally acclaimed wedding planners attending it.

Shri Alla Balaram Babu said Telangana Chamber of Events Industry has been in the forefront of making the event industry considered to be unorganized into an organized sector. We are bringing together all the event organizers and those supporting them, under one umbrella, today we have 450 event organizers as part of this association, which makes TCEI the largest regional event management association in the country. We are not only enhancing the professionalism in the industry but also striving for the betterment of all those involved in the event industry. We are also focused on showcasing Telangana as a destination, the Somasila backwaters, a cliff with wonderful water terrain, with better infrastructure, can be a Bali kind of destination. To encourage and empower event management talent from the interiors and remote areas of Telangana, we are offering scholarships and are not taking the registration fee for the SIWPC event. Through another initiative to give back to society and be sustainable, we are tying up with the Panchayat raj and reaching out to women’s self-help groups, to pass on flowers from the events after they are over, to prepare incense sticks from them. We have been pursuing industry status for the event industry for some time and request this government to confer us the status. We also request you to give us a special event zone on the outskirts of the city on the lines of a special economic zone, with special privileges in terms of overcoming restrictions of time and others applicable in the city. This lends impetus to the event industry to take the event experience to the next level and attract international events to the city. This idea of a special event zone has not been implemented anywhere in India and will be a one-of-a-kind model in the country to be replicated by others.

Shri TG Srikanth said, the wedding industry is estimated to be $ 130 billion, but Hyderabad with the best of the infrastructure is not seeing much traffic of destination weddings coming to the city. The popular destination wedding locations have been Jaipur, Goa, backwaters of Kerala, Uttarakhand and Hyderabad has not been the choice for this sector, despite the buzz about Hyderabad being vibrant. The TCEI SIWPC GLOBAL event held year on year is creating momentum for Hyderabad to be counted among the wedding destinations.

The 3rd TCEI SIWPC GLOBAL 2024, brings together experts from various facets of the Indian wedding industry. This event aims to showcase South India’s significant contributions to the world of weddings and provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Renowned national and international speakers from the events fraternity will grace the conference, delivering insightful sessions on different aspects of the Indian wedding industry. Delegates will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights, learn from industry experts, and exchange ideas with like-minded professionals.

This Convention has received over 600 delegate registrations by Wedding Planners, Wedding Designers, Wedding Stylists, Decorators, Event Managers & all other crafts of the Event Industry across India & more than 10 Countries. The event is poised to showcase the upsurge of grand-scale weddings & events in Telangana & across India. This event will be attended by globally acclaimed Industry Experts & Peers namely:

India’s Energy Consumption to Surge 90 percent by 2050, Says Rosneft CEO

India's Energy Consumption

New Delhi, 10th June 2024 – Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, Russia’s biggest oil producer, addressed key global business and political leaders at the Energy Panel of the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). In his keynote speech titled “Energy transition and phantom barrels: Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. Not everyone will be taken to the bright future of the global energy industry!”, Igor Sechin provided a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the energy market and highlighted key challenges facing the industry.

During the speech, Igor Sechin laid special emphasis on the rapidly growing Indian economy and said “Over the next five years, India is projected to continue its strong economic momentum and become one of the top three largest economies in the world with a GDP of USD 5 trillion, and by 2050 will overtake the U.S. in terms of the size of the economy.” He further added that India’s end-use energy consumption is set to grow by 90% by 2050 – one of the fastest growth rates in the world.

Rosneft recently signed a term agreement with Indian Oil Company to increase oil supplies and diversify India’s oil grades. The Agreement took place during Igor Sechin’s recent visit to India. Indian companies (ONGC Videsh Ltd., Oil India Limited, Indian Oil Corporation, and Bharat Petroresources) have been owners of 49.9% of Rosneft’s subsidiary JSC Vankorneft since 2016.

Taking about the global preparation on energy transition, Rosneft CEO criticized the prioritization of the anthropogenic factor in climate change discourse and argues against the effectiveness of energy transition initiatives in addressing environmental concerns. Igor Sechin highlighted the insights of renowned physicist Pyotr Leonidovich Kapitsa, who predicted energy production challenges due to the inefficiency of alternative energy sources. Despite considering hydrogen as a promising clean fuel, Sechin pointed out current limitations in production technology, logistics, and market readiness.

Furthermore, Igor Sechin highlighted that while renewable energy accounts for less than 5% of global energy production and electric vehicles only make up approximately 3%, consumption of oil, gas, and coal has continued to rise. He argues that the lack of profitability in green energy initiatives is leading to divestment from the traditional energy sector, exacerbating the challenge of transitioning to sustainable energy sources.

Igor Sechin underlined that the energy transition should be well-balanced and focused on addressing the interests of the majority that will ensure the growth of energy consumption in the coming years, i.e. developing countries. He also noted that to achieve energy security, it is necessary to ensure the sufficiency, affordability, and reliability of energy sources.

Aggressive promotion of the “green agenda” actually means declaring an energy war on the majority of the world’s population, and overcoming energy inequality is impossible without reliable supplies of oil and gas, said Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin.

According to Igor Sechin, electricity demand will grow driven by developing countries that have yet to overcome energy poverty. While speaking at the Energy panel, Igor Sechin reminded that it is in the developing countries of Asia and Africa that we are witnessing the greatest population growth and, as a consequence, a rapid increase in the need for energy resources. Obviously, in this situation, a reduction in global consumption of fossil resources would automatically mean that the problem of hunger and energy poverty would not only persist, but also worsen. Giving up oil will also mean giving up the modern way of life. Conversely, for many countries, increased oil consumption means access to the benefits of civilization, Igor Sechin concluded.

He further stated that with OPEC+ agreement seems to have little impact on the oil market, as observed by the stockpiling of reserves by both Western and Middle Eastern companies, potentially anticipating significant market changes. These “phantom barrels” could offset the effects of voluntary production cuts by major OPEC members, evidenced by market quotations declining after recent ministerial decisions. Moreover, the looming uncertainty surrounding the upcoming U.S. presidential elections, where public sentiment is influenced, among other things, by fluctuations in gasoline prices, implies a heightened level of market volatility. The possibility of regulatory changes within the industry, contingent upon election outcomes, underscores emerging risks, prompting major players to explore alternative strategies.

According to Rosneft’s CEO, developing countries will be the main drivers of oil consumption in the coming decades. By 2030, demand growth in this group of countries is expected to account for 95% of global consumption growth in aggregate. The highest growth in oil demand is expected in Asian countries, which are Russia’s main trading partners.

India’s economy has made significant strides in recent years. Since 2010 energy demand has grown by 45%, making the country the third largest energy consumer in the world. Over the next five years, India is projected to continue its strong economic momentum and become one of the top three largest economies in the world with a GDP of USD 5 trillion, and by 2050 will overtake the U.S. in terms of the size of the economy. India’s end-use energy consumption is set to grow by 90% by 2050 – one of the fastest growth rates in the world.

The SPIEF Energy Panel was attended by Jose Felix Rivas, Sectoral Vice President of Economy, Venezuela, Zhang Daowei, Vice-President of CNPC, Martin Wiewiorowski, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Advantage Energy, David Gadzhimirzaev, Director of OFS Technologies, Nobuo Tanaka, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Japanese government’s non-profit initiative for the development of low-carbon technologies, as well as representatives of government authorities, major Russian and foreign companies in various sectors, scientists, academics, experts and analysts. The session was moderated by Alexander Dynkin, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and President of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
