USSEC’s Pitch2Fork Spotlights Startups Leading in Protein Innovation

5th July 2024  Dubai, United Arab Emirates  Right to Protein powered by the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) hosted its second Pitch2Fork program in Dubai, UAE. With a focus on innovations in the protein industry, this platform provided a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs across Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan to pitch their rising businesses to a panel of investors. Shortlisted companies that leveraged this unique opportunity included Gladful, Hello Tempayy, Poulta, and WeGro.

While South Asia ranks as the fastest-growing region in the world, it is challenged with meeting the rapidly growing demand for protein. Hello Tempayy, an innovative Indian start-up reshaping tempeh production was awarded the Pitch2Fork 2024 trophy for ‘Protein Start-up of the Year.’ With their user-friendly and flavorful offerings, Hello Tempayy is expanding the array of soy-based protein options available to consumers in India. On seeing the value of winning the title, Hello Tempayy’s Cofounder and Nutritionist, Malavika Siddharth, from India added, “As a nutritionist, I witness the effects of protein deficiencies on an individual’s health on a regular basis. That’s why we founded Hello Tempayy – to bridge this gap. Platforms like Pitch2fork present an invaluable opportunity to amplify our mission to raise awareness and offer nutritious and delicious high-quality protein options.”

2024: Real-estate Boom in Tier-2 & Tier-3 Cities

5th July 2024  Delhi, India  In recent years, the Indian real estate market has undergone a remarkable transformation, particularly in the luxury housing segment. Factors such as rising incomes, growing aspirations for upscale living, and the premiumization trend have fueled a surge in demand for luxury properties. You work, you learn, you sacrifice to be where you want to be…but also, I think it’s important to keep your ears open, listen, and learn enough from people who know more than you: coaches, and players. And see how they have gotten to where they are.”

As the conversation delved deeper, Gary discussed the pivotal factors he believed contributed to Chelsea’s success, as well as his secret to reaching the top:

“Team spirit was a big factor in our success. I think it’s a whole package: it’s the quality of players, people who are driven to raise standards all the time, and its consistency levels. Day in and day out, week in and week out. It’s not one thing, it’s a package: we had good managers at that time, José and Antonio, two well-established respected managers; and we had a squad of brilliant international football players with a strong mentality.”

Throughout the conversation, Gary also opened up to Drog BABA about his favorite career goal and the emotions he experienced while scoring it. Additionally, he revealed some of the pre-match rituals he adhered to before games and shared his thoughts on who might win the upcoming Chelsea vs. Brighton match scheduled for May 15th.

During the round of “Never Have I Ever,” we got to know if Gary had made a decision in a match that he immediately regretted or if he had ever adapted his playing style due to changes in his team.

MVJ College of Engineering Marks Founder’s Day 2024 with Recognition and Awards for Excellence

5th July 2024  Bengaluru, Karnataka, India  MVJ College of Engineering Celebrated Founder’s Day to mark the 96th birth anniversary of Dr. M. V. Jayaraman, the Founder and Mentor of the MVJ Group of Institutions. The event, held in the college auditorium named after Dr. Jayaraman, commenced at 10:15 a.m.

The ceremony began with a tribute video honoring Dr. Jayaraman’s legacy, allowing the audience to reflect on his impactful journey.

Padma Bhushan Dr. B. N. Suresh, the Chief Guest, graced the occasion. Dr. Suresh, who has been the Chairman of the Board of Governors at MVJCE since 2015, is the Founder Director and Chancellor of IIST, Trivandrum. His distinguished career includes roles as a Distinguished Professor at ISRO HQ, Bangalore, Former Satish Dhawan Chair of Engineering Eminence, INAE, Delhi, Past President, Indian National Academy of Engineering, New Delhi, Former Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, VSSC, Trivandrum; and Former Member, Space Commission.

In his keynote address, Dr. Suresh highlighted the growth and achievements of MVJCE since its inception in 1982. He spoke highly of Dr. MV Jayaraman and further, appealed to the students to take forward his legacy. Harping on the importance of the tinkering lab and innovation cell, Dr. B. N. Suresh announced that MVJCE is bursting with potential to be realized by the time it comes close to its golden jubilee celebrations. He added that the Project Expo 2024 at MVJCE was a grand success and that engineers, who can work in interdisciplinary fields, are indispensable. Moreover, he stressed that building gadgets and having inclusive management are some of the ways that students can reach the zenith of innovation.

Well-deserved students were awarded certificates and cash awards in various categories including Autonomous rank holders, College topper, year-wise toppers, students obtaining more than 4 outstanding grades in the last year’s examinations, Vinay Deepak Memorial award to the topper in Mechanical Engineering, Best outgoing student, gold medals in sports, state-level championship winners, best players in various sports, and students excelling in cultural activities such as Music, Dance, Fine arts, and Theatre. An award was also instituted by alumnus Mr. Amitesh Rahul, Director of ADSAT ENGINEERS PRIVATE LIMITED and a 1987 batch Electronics and Communication Engineering graduate, for the 1st rank holder in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

In total, 108 students and 6 faculty members were honored, receiving cash prizes amounting to Rs. 5 lakhs. Additionally, faculty members from the PUC college who achieved outstanding results were awarded appreciation certificates.

This celebration reaffirmed MVJ College of Engineering’s commitment to recognizing and fostering excellence in academia, sports, and cultural endeavors.

BBG Bangarutalli, a non-profit organization founded by Mr. Mallikarjuna Reddy in 2019, is dedicated to empowering girls’ education in rural and educationally backward areas of India, particularly in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Over the past academic year, BBG coaches Mrs. Neeraja Ankapalli and Mrs. Kasturi Usha, under the leadership of Mr. P. Srinivasarao, have motivated 40,000 girl children in various government schools, emphasizing the importance of education, mental health, and physical fitness. In the coming academic year, BBG Bangarutalli aims to expand its reach by visiting more government primary and high schools to continue empowering girls with essential knowledge and skills.

Harpic and News18’s ‘Mission Swachhta Aur Paani’ Marks 1400 Days of Promoting Nationwide Hygiene Awareness

Mission Swachhta Aur Paani campaign, a collaborative effort by Harpic and News 18, has been at the forefront of this change, marking over 1400 days of continuous engagement. A first-of-its-kind awareness campaign, the initiative normalized discussions on good toilet behavior across the country, touching millions of citizens, and bringing together leaders from all walks of life. Integrating culture, comedy, muppets, technology, music, and education, Harpic Mission Swachhta Aur Paani recently celebrated the completion of its third edition, setting the stage for scaling it up in the future. The milestone coincided with the 10th anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Swachh Bharat Mission.

Our persistent efforts under the Swachhta Abhiyan are poised to significantly elevate both the National Health Index and GPI.”

Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya, highlighted the critical role of good sanitation in maintaining good health, crediting the Swachh Bharat Mission for spreading the message of health and hygiene nationwide. He commended the Prime Minister for ensuring dignity for women, sanitation workers, marginalized communities, and others through this campaign.
