Guwahati;December 2, 2024: Northeast India’s largest dairy cooperative, Purabi Dairy, hosted a felicitation ceremony at its premises on Saturday to honor four recipients of the prestigious National Gopal Ratna Awards. The event recognized their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to advancing the dairy sector in the region. The four awardees are affiliated with Purabi Dairy, which continues to support and empower dairy farmers across Assam through its extensive network and initiatives.

Two farmers from Assam, an AI technician and a dairy cooperative were awarded the National Gopal Ratna Awards (NGRA), one of the highest national awards in the field of livestock and dairy sector. The awards were handed over by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying in the presence of Prof. SP Singh Baghel and George Kurian, Minister of State, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, at a function in New Delhi as part of the National Milk Day celebrations on November 26.

Dairy farmers Juna Tamuli Barman of Bajali and Junuma Mali of Morigaon won the Best Dairy farmer rearing indigenous cattle/buffalo breeds under the Special NER category. Md Abdur Rahim of Kamrup won Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT) award under the Special NER category. Kamdhenu Dugdha Utpadak Samabay Samitee Ltd of Nityananda, Bajali, won the Best Dairy Cooperative Society award under the Special NER category. The milk producers and the dairy cooperative societies are all affiliated to West Assam Milk Producers Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL).WAMUL setup as part of Operation Flood programme of NDDB by Dr. Verghese Kurien, is now on its way to glory. It is most appropriate that on his birthday, the cooperative model’s success is being celebrated, and the best award-winning stakeholders happen to be stakeholders in WAMUL – a cooperative better known by its brand ‘Purabi’.

A few months ago, Junuma Mali’s inspiring journey was featured in Purabi Dairy’s video documentary series, an initiative by WAMUL that celebrates the success stories of dairy farmers who exemplify dedication and resilience in transforming the dairy sector in Assam.

Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, had initiated the ‘Rashtriya Gokul Mission’, under National Programme for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development.

All the 4 Awards consists of a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh each, which is a Special Award for North Eastern Region, along with a Certificate of merit and a memento. The winners were selected out of a total of 2,574 applications received.

Hyderabad, December 2, 2024,… Team The Trailblazers for their project ‘SonicScript’, converting Audio to Text, Vice Versa and Key Word Extraction emerged as the winner of the InnoQuest , a 30-hour-long Hackathon which concluded Saturday evening at Anurag University.

The Trailblazers team composed of K. Lakshmi Shreya, P. Sahiti Reddy and Sair Ruthwik developed this application under the problem statement “Ai Captioning and Transcription Tools”. They walked away with Rs 10,000 cash prizes besides Microsoft Merchandise

We wanted to pursue a master’s degree and secure a job in a very good company, said K. Lakshmi Shreya, responding after receiving the prize. The other teammates echoed with her.

The team Protathlitis emerged as runner-up and Team Lakshya as second runner-up and walked away with cash prizes of Rs 7000/-and Rs 5000/- for their projects Smart Sign Language Translator and Automated Accessibility Checker respectively

Earlier gracing the occasion Dr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Chairman of Anurag University said Hackathons are very important and are one step short of securing an internship or placement. They are the order of the day in securing good jobs nowadays, he added.

A total of 925 participants registered out of which 366 were shortlisted. After four rounds ten teams qualified for the final. Out of ten teams, three were adjudged as the top three winners and the remaining seven were declared as consolation prize winners. The consolation prize winning teams include Syntax Error, Mortals, Flame Spirits, Equicodtins, Quadracoders, Creative Codex and Elite Titans.

The prizes were given away by Ms Anuradha Sunku, Ms. Pavani Anne, and Ms.Shalina Nandiwada—all the three Technical Delivery Managers of Microsoft.

The participants were given expert guidance by 12 mentors and 3 judges from Microsoft offering specialized insights into AI, ML, Copilot, and accessibility-focused design. A pprecursor Boot camp was also organised.

The participants were given six problem statements such as 1. Automated Accessibility Checker; 2. Emotion Detection for Autism Support; 3. Indoor Navigation for the Visually Impaired; 4. Unified Accessibility Dashboard; 5. AI Captioning and Transcription Tool and 6. Real-Time Sign Language Interpreter. The participants had to work on any one of the above problem statements.

They had to come out with innovative solutions to real-world problems and challenges and create prototypes that redefine accessibility in 30 hours. The solutions that came out ranged from conceptual sketches and paper prototypes to advanced digital mock-ups, reflecting the diversity of participants’ creativity and technical expertise.

Dr G. Vishnu Murthy, Dean, Dr Siddartha Ghosh, Dr M. Srinivas Rao of Anurag University, faculty coordinators Dr B. Ravinder Reddy and Ms S. Deepika participated in the closing. Aditya Kulkarni and Dharani Meda, Student Coordinators announced that the next Hackathon will be held in January in partnership with Veltris Pvt. Ltd, a top AI company.

2nd December-2024, Sri Vijaya Puram: Air India Express marked a significant milestone with the commencement of daily direct flights from Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair) to Bengaluru and Kolkata on Sunday. These inaugural flights mark Sri Vijaya Puram’s addition to the rapidly expanding Air India Express network, strengthening the airline’s presence in the region and enhancing connectivity to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a key tourist destination. Additionally, the airline commenced daily operations from Jammu to Delhi and Srinagar, today.

The first flight from Sri Vijaya Puram to Kolkata took off at 08:35, followed by the inaugural flight from Sri Vijaya Puram to Bengaluru at 13:50. To mark the occasion, the airline hosted celebrations at Sri Vijaya Puram Airport, featuring decorated check-in counters, sweet distributions, and the ceremonial presentation of boarding cards to the first guests of both flights.

Similar celebrations were held at Bengaluru and Kolkata airports to mark the inaugural flights to Sri Vijaya Puram, underscoring Air India Express’s commitment to providing enhanced connectivity between the Andaman Islands and major cities.

Starting 1^st January 2025, Air India Express will begin services to Chennai, further enhancing connectivity from Sri Vijaya Puram. Additionally, the frequency of the Kolkata service will increase to twice daily starting 15^th December 2024.

Recently, Air India Express announced a significant milestone as its network surpassed the 50-destination mark with the addition of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, Dimapur, and Patna. New Delhi, 2nd December 2024: The opening night of ‘Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela.’ — the mega-musical odyssey detailing Shri Krishna’s eternal saga — received an overwhelming reception in Delhi, captivating the audience with its artistic brilliance. The Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Auditorium in the national capital resonated with the symphony of music and the sacred name of Shri Krishna, filled with devotion long after the notes had faded.

The auditorium was packed on its second day too with an enthusiastic audience, and renowned Bollywood celebrities, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Vedang Raina adding an extra touch to the glamour.

Conceptualised by the visionary Dhanraj Nathwani, the show united generations under one roof to celebrate the rich tapestry of art, culture, and tradition. Of all, it brought them closer to the eternal divine Rajadhiraaj Shri Krishna.

On the debut night of the musical theatrical in Delhi, Dhanraj Nathwani said, “Creating Rajadhiraaj has been a long-held dream. It is not just a musical for me, but a reflection of my devotion and unwavering belief in Shri Dwarkadheesh. From the idea to its execution, I have poured my heart into this, and I have enjoyed every bit of the Rajadhiraaj journey. After a stellar run in Mumbai, the show marked its debut in Delhi on November 29, 2024. The one-of-a-kind theatrical experience, which brings to life the magnanimity and benevolence of Shri Krishna, will enchant the city’s spectators until December 8, 2024. Executive producer Bhoomi Nathwani described the musical as a celebration of India’s rich culture and tradition.

The world’s first musical on Shri Krishna’s life has been penned by celebrated screenwriter and lyricist, Padma Shri Awardee Prasoon Joshi. It portrays two forms of Shri Krishna— Shrinathji and Dwarkadheesh. The musical offers audiences a captivating journey through the numerous tales of Shri Krishna staged by 180 artists. Speaking about the spectacular night, Prasoon Joshi said, “Shri Krishna is divine, and his life is eternal. Bringing his story to life on stage was a privilege and a great learning experience. All of us have put in a lot of effort to bring this grand musical that resonates with all generations. We are truly humbled by the overwhelming response from the audience in Delhi.”

The production allure is the 20 original soul-stirring soundtracks composed by the musical duo Sachin-Jigar. The music blends western symphonic elements from Budapest and Indian classical, weaving intricate melody that transcends borders.
Omung Kumar’s intricate set design and Bertwin D’Souza and Shampa Gopikrishna’s mesmerizing choreography add a stunning visual appeal to the show, enhancing its emotional depth and cultural richness. Celebrated costume designer Neeta Lulla brings mythical characters to life with her bespoke, custom-made costumes.

The show is creatively produced by Parthiv Gohil and Viral Rachh, while National Award-winning writer Raam Mori has contributed to the project’s in-depth story research.

Named ‘Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect’, this cutting-edge facility has an annual capacity to safely disassemble 21,000 end-of-life vehicles with environmentally friendly processes.

This RVSF is operated by Tata International Vehicle Applications (TIVA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata International, and is equipped to scrap passenger and commercial vehicles of all brands.

Sambalpur; December 2nd 2024; IIM Sambalpur, one of the premier management institutions, hosted a 5-Day Residential Capacity Building Programme for the 2nd Batch of Nurturing Future Leadership, under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) at its campus. There were 28 faculty members from 16 different Higher Education Institutes from all around the nation who have participated in this programme. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and aligned with the vision of NEP 2020, the programme aims to empower faculty members in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to develop essential leadership capabilities by delivering a transformative learning experience, creating a deep understanding of the knowledge, skills and attributes, by identifying challenges and levers in managing and leading organizations.

During the welcome address, Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, said, “National prosperity and international recognition through accreditations and rankings begin with strong grassroots education. The award is instituted by iCONGO in partnership with United Nations (UN). The Rex Karmaveer Chakra Awards celebrate real-life heroes who embody the spirit of ‘Be the Change.’ These awards spotlight individuals who take bold, innovative paths to inspire and bring about meaningful change.

From breaking societal norms by rejecting an early marriage at 16 to founding Vyomini, Prachi’s life journey is a testament to resilience, courage, and vision. Through Vyomini, she has trained over 5,000 women under various entrepreneurship development programs and created sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions that have reached over 20 lakh women through awareness campaigns and workshops across 20 states.”

Under her leadership, Vyomini has achieved remarkable milestones, including:

• Establishing 10 incubation centers for rural entrepreneurs.
• Training women in manufacturing essential hygiene products like sanitary pads, vending machines, and incinerators.
• Conducting over 550 workshops for marginalized communities, including youth, released prisoners, and transgender individuals.
• Transforming menstruation into an opportunity for entrepreneurship by creating local ecosystems for production and distribution.

Speaking at the occasion, Prachi Kaushik, Founder and Director of Vyomini Social Enterprise, said,  “Menstrual health isn’t just about hygiene—it’s about dignity, empowerment, and human rights, The journey began with a single step, but today, Vyomini stands as a movement to advocate for women-led development. Shruti Gupta Kasana presents a solo show “Sampurn Vrindavan” to showcase the life of Krishna by creating three distinct themes within one show: Krishna in Dwarka, his childhood in Vrindavan, and his love and compassion towards cows on December 07, 2024 at Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

The artist’s collection will delve into the mythology surrounding India’s underwater city, Dwarka. According to Hindu mythology, the ancient city was established by Krishna after he vanquished his uncle Kansa. The magnificent city was cursed to sink beneath the waves after Krishna departed to the spiritual realm. By exploring the themes of Anterdweep; the Cowherd, Bovine Love, Passion; and Sampurn Vrindavan, the exhibition will be a breath-taking spectacle for the viewers.

To enhance the show’s intrigue, she is also designing statement knitwear pieces, where she incorporates knitting, hand embroidery, applique patchwork, and Bengali Kantha techniques, that not only serve as artistic expressions but also serve as wearable garments, blending functionality with art seamlessly.
