Plant-based kids’ clothing brand Kidbea secures $1mn funding in Pre-Series A round led by Venture Catalysts

Noida, 9th January 2024 Kidbea, an innovative bamboo-based kids fashion brand, today announced that it has raised $1 million in funding in the Pre-series A round led by early-stage investment firm Venture Catalysts.

The funding round also saw involvement from Agility Ventures and BestVantage Investments, as well as notable figures in the industry such as Sandeep Agarwal and Upasana Agarwal, founders of Droom, Ashok Bahadur, alongside a group of experienced angel investors, and HiroMizushima, a well-known celebrity actor in Japan.

Founded in 2021 by Swapnil Srivastav, Mohammad Hussain, and Aman Kumar Mahto, Kidbea specializes in creating bamboo plant-based, skin-friendly, and comfortable children’s apparel. Kidbea’s products effectively tackle issues such as discomfort, skin rashes, and food spillage in newborns by providing GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified clothing that is environmentally friendly and gentle on children’s skin.

Kidbea will use the funding to boost its marketing and branding initiatives, expand its team, and improve operations. Additionally, a strategic portion of the funds will be allocated to research and development and technology to maintain a leading position in the rapidly evolving children’s fashion industry.

At present, Kidbea has a presence on all major online platforms and is available in over 30 partnered stores located in premium children’s hospitals. Additionally, Kidbea has expanded its global reach to include the UAE, Bahrain, and Australia. The brand’s varied product portfolio features over 250 SKUs, encompassing kids’ rompers, bodysuits, reusable cloth diapers, soft toys, and accessories.

PM Gati Shakti NMP Workshop Unveils Strategic Insights and Upskilled UP Government Officials on a Large Scale

Lucknow,8th January 2024 Today, Invest UP in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and RSAC-UP, organized a workshop on PM Gati Shakti NMP in a knowledge-packed session that delivered technical inputs to enrich nodal officers and stakeholders of the UP government at the RSAC campus.

Invest UP CEO and Secretary Infrastructure Infrastructure & Industrial Development Department, Abhishek Prakash, Deputy Director General DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Vinod Kumar Verma, Deputy Director General Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, D.K. Ojha and Director RSAC-UP Dr. P. Kunwar were among the few who graced the occasion and addressed the officers from different departments across the state.

Senior scientist-SF Sushil Chandra of RSAC started the session with a welcome address and made a presentation on the Introduction and Layer Integration of PM Gati Shakti NMP. His presentation not only provided a comprehensive overview but also laid the foundation for a day of in-depth exploration.

The workshop further gained momentum with a presentation by Invest UP, spearheaded by Shri Abhishek Prakash (IAS), Secretary IIDD, and Chief Executive Officer at Invest-UP. The session highlighted the progress and key expectations from the department, underscoring the collaborative efforts required for the successful execution of PM Gati Shakti NMP. CEO of Invest UP, Abhishek Prakash said that now the stage has come to take the advantages of this portal to the next level. He said, Today’s workshop is very important as time has come to utilise the planning and hard work done in previous years for proper planning, reducing the time of inter-departmental coordination and physical verification. He further detailed the PM Gati Shakti presentation of UP, including the progress UP has made till date, the status of the progress of layer integration and key expectations from the department like how to utilise the tool for better planning and better execution of the projects. While explaining the progress of UP he stated that 24 mandatory layers have been integrated and authenticated, and 55 additional layers have been integrated on the portal.

Dr. P. Kunwar, Director of RSAC-UP, then took the stage to shed light on the significance of RSAC-UP in the broader context, emphasizing its role in contributing to the success of initiatives like PM Gati Shakti NMP. This session helped participants understand the critical role of remote sensing applications in the effective implementation of national projects. He further said the centre, which was started in 1982, is now excelling in all directions and equipping departments with technical, geo-special technologies and assistance to different departments.

Shri Vinod Kumar Verma, Deputy Director General at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, followed with an insightful discourse on PM Gati Shakti NMP. He added that the PM Gati Shakti NMP is a more than two-year-old project now, launched by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi. All departments, whether infrastructure or any other, need planning, so we have a vision that all future planning of government departments should be done through PM Gati Shakti, which is a GIS based portal.

Shri D.K. Ojha, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas graced the event with profound insights into PM Gati Shakti NMP during the latter part of the morning session. His presentation delved into the strategic aspects of the plan, offering a nuanced perspective on its potential impact on the energy sector.

The post-lunch session witnessed a live demonstration of project planning by D.K. Ojha using PM Gati Shakti NMP. The interactive session allowed participants to witness first-hand the practical application of the master plan, fostering a deeper understanding of its implementation.

As the day drew to a close, Dr. M. S. Yadav, Scientist-SE at RSAC-UP, extended a vote of thanks to all the participants, speakers and organizers who contributed to the success of the workshop. This represents a 38% growth compared to the company’s sales in November 2023, when it sold 2,563 units of electric two-wheelers.It is noteworthy that the company has sold a whopping 23,926 units of electric two-wheelers in CY 2023 (Jan – Dec 2023).

Led by the strong demand for its products and with a vast presence across the country, the company also sold more than 17,000 units (17,919) of electric two-wheelers in the first three quarters of this financial year (April- December 2023).

The company is all set to showcase its new product line-up during the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Business Summit in January 2024. CBM India Initiates Eye-Screening Camps for Hyderabad’s Transgender Community: A Milestone in Inclusive Healthcare

Hyderabad, 8th January 2024 – CBM India, in collaboration with Motivate (formerly CSS Corp), Prem Marg Charitable Trust, and L. V. Prasad Eye Institute, marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by hosting a series of four eye-screening camps aimed at addressing the critical eye care needs of the transgender community in Hyderabad.

Amidst the screenings, 120+ individuals were identified with vision issues and will be provided with essential eyeglasses. Additionally, several participants were guided towards further necessary care beyond the initial screening to ensure comprehensive support for their eye health. These camps epitomize CBM India’s commitment to mitigating the conditions leading to disability while enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities and other marginalized communities. They stand in alignment with progressive initiatives spearheaded by the Government, both at the central and state levels, such as the National Program for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment, a government initiative aimed at reducing the prevalence of avoidable blindness in India by 2025.

“While strides have been made in promoting inclusivity in healthcare, the transgender community still faces barriers to accessing essential services, including eye care,” said Mr. Sony Thomas, Executive Director of CBM India. “These eye-screening camps underscore our dedication to providing inclusive healthcare initiatives for all.”

Pooja, a trans woman who participated in CBM India’s eye-screening camp in collaboration with Movate, Prem Marg Charitable Trust, and L. V. Prasad Eye Institute in 2022, underwent surgery based on the medical team’s recommendation during that event. The surgery significantly improved her vision. Returning to one of our recent eye screening camps for a check-up, she expressed gratitude, stating, “The surgery has greatly improved my eyesight. CBM India and its partners’ consistent support during critical times has been invaluable. Their thoughtful initiatives demonstrate a genuine concern for our community’s well-being.”

Recognizing the multifaceted challenges faced by the participants, CBM India distributed ration kits during the screening. This thoughtful gesture aimed to mitigate the potential loss of a day’s wages, acknowledging the economic vulnerabilities often experienced by the transgender community. The provision of these kits not only eased financial constraints but also encouraged more people to participate in the eye screening camps.

How to Participate

To enter the HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity, simply submit your artwork in either of the following ways, before the submission deadline, February 29, 2024 at 24:00 Beijing Time (GMT +8):

 

Method 1: Open My HUAWEI app on your phone or tablet and register within the app. Then submit your work on the GoPaint page in the app.

 

Method 2: Post your work on Instagram/Facebook with #HUAWEIGoPaint, and mention the huaweimobile official account.

HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity consists of three conceptual categories, including:

  • Culture

Culture is the calling of each creator, the essence of our soul, the place where life experience meets inspiration, and possibilities are endless.

  • City

We spend much of our lives in concrete jungles of our own making. If the world is a blank canvas, its cities are the lines, dots and brushstrokes that give it colour.

  • Characters

We are nothing without the people around us. The everyday acts of kindness, bravery, love, and resilience we witness are the sustenance that gives our lives meaning and purpose.

 

Submission Requirements

Artworks should be submitted in either JPG or PNG files, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi, and a file size of no more than 20 MB. Each uploaded work must be accompanied by a text description of between 30 and 80 words.

Participants are encouraged to carefully review each category before submitting their work to the most suitable one.

Participants can only use HUAWEI tablets to create their artworks – any model is acceptable.
