DFC aims to promote inclusive financing for EV adoption across India with its $5 million investment in Revfin.

12th June 2023: Revfin Services Private Limited, a pioneer and leader in the Indian EV Financing space has secured $5 million from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The investment is part of DFC’s Portfolio for Impact and Innovation and seeks to promote inclusive financing for EV adoption in India.

Revfin plans to finance 2 million electric vehicles in the next five years. The company has already invested in over 21800+ electric three-wheelers and elevated the living standards of underserved segments, including 24% of women borrowers. The funds raised from DFC will further bolster Revfin’s plan to emerge as a leader in India’s EV financing space and introduce new products by diversifying into two-wheelers for last-mile deliveries, four-wheelers for mid-mile cargo delivery, and ride-share taxis.

Sameer Aggarwal, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Revfin stated, “The EV industry in India has tremendous potential and also provides good employment prospects. The growth of the industry is restricted due to the limited financing options. Having a forward-looking institution like DFC investing in Revfin will help scale EV adoption and increase financial inclusion. ChatGPT is a revolutionary piece of expertise driven by AI technology that allows anyone to have human-like conversations and much more with the chatbot. ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer) was launched in November 2022 and gained over 100 million users worldwide. India is the second largest country using ChatGPT, next to USA in terms of number of users.

Millions of professionals, including marketers programmers, educators, students, researchers, copywriters, doctors, scientists, journalists, and others use the tool to enhance their work.

Privacy concerns, challenges to cyber security, legal implications, propagating misinformation, threat to new jobs, ambiguities, and inaccuracies among others are the major concerns of ChatGPT.

In the discussion on the opportunities and challenges of ChatGPT,Dr. Harish G Ramaswamy, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE and Centre for ResponsibleAI, IIT Madras, Mr.V.
