Mumbai, February 05, 2024: The World University of Design (WUD) marked a significant milestone as it conferred degrees upon 160 students during its 3rd Convocation Ceremony at the Sonipat Campus. The graduates, representing diverse design disciplines, included both Bachelors and Masters Students.

Distinguished dignitaries graced the convocation, with Chief Guest Dr. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe (Chairman, National Education Technology Forum (NETF), Chairman, ECNAAC and Chairman, NBA) and Guest of Honor His Excellency Ambassador Kimmo Lahdevirta, Ambassador of Finland to India.

In his address, Dr. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe stated, “Education is a journey with challenges and varied experiences shaping lives. Success is found not just in medals but in the entire journey. Graduates, now professionals, are ready to shape the nation’s future with passion and commitment. Dedication to leadership is constant, and embracing failures is crucial. In the future, these graduates will take on leadership roles, connected to the institution, inspiring the next generation with a steadfast commitment to innovation.”

This collaborative effort not only fosters cultural understanding but also contributes to the global exchange of knowledge, making WUD a beacon of international education excellence.”

The ceremony not only acknowledged academic achievements but also showcased the university’s dedication to instilling a global perspective among students. Three prestigious medals were awarded, highlighting WUD’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding academic excellence. The Chancellor’s Gold Medal, the highest honor, was bestowed upon Ms. Vrinda Singhal from the School of Design, symbolizing the exceptional achievements of the batch of 2023. Additionally, Gold and Silver Medals were presented to top-performing students in each program, following established criteria.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor of WUD, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “As we stand at the crossroads of celebrating achievements, acknowledging our impact, and addressing challenges, I am confident that the World University of Design will continue to be a beacon of excellence. The ceremony marked the official transition of graduates to professionals as degrees were conferred and a design professional pledge was made. WUD bid a confident farewell, expressing belief in their readiness for unique professional journeys. The 3rd Convocation recognized Bachelors and Masters achievements, shaping future design leaders. The graduates, armed with knowledge, inspiration, and a global outlook, are prepared to make meaningful contributions to the world of design and beyond.

This year, approximately 90% of WUD’s students secured placements. The average annual salary for the graduating batch of 2023 is 5.1 LPA. The highest salary offered for the 2023 batch is 12.5 LPA. Among the top recruiters were Reliance Brands, Tata, Airtel, Max, ABinBev, Ogilvy, Dentsu, Elexi, Leo Burnett, Hettich, Shahi Exports, Payal Jain, Satya Paul, Thence, Sankul, and the Government of Bhutan.

Key stakeholders, including Dr. Neena Singh Zutshi, Dean of Academics, Prof. Devender Singh Kharb, Dean of the School of Fashion, Prof. Anjan, Dean of the School of Communication, Prof. Rajan Shripad Fulari, Dean of the School of Visual Arts, Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean of the School of Design, Prof. Sanmitra Chitte, Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Shaleen Sharma, Dean of the School of Architecture, Prof. Parul Purohit Vats, Dean of the School of Performing Arts, were in attendance. New Delhi, February 05th, 2024: The inaugural edition of the SFA Championships in Delhi concluded with resounding success, showcasing the remarkable talent and sportsmanship of schools across the city. Noida Educational Academy became the ‘number one school in sports’ with 119 points securing 7 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals, displaying unparalleled passion for sports.

Pathways World School, Gurugram took the first runner-up position, and Manava Bhawna Public School, Nathupura claimed the second runner-up award. These achievements highlight the fierce competition and commendable sportsmanship displayed by Delhi schools.

Meanwhile, Harsh Kumar, representing Manava Bhawna Public School, Nathupura earned the esteemed distinction of ‘Golden Boy’ by clinching 2 Gold medals, each in Athletics and Kho Kho. 

The SFA Championships in Delhi witnessed an overwhelming participation, with close to 6200 athletes representing over 540 schools. Engaging in thrilling matches across various sports, including skating, shooting, football, athletics, badminton, basketball, and kabaddi, the championship captivated audiences and showcased the city’s vibrant sporting culture. With a balanced participation of 64% male athletes and 34% female athletes, the championship celebrated inclusivity and diversity, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among participants.  

The success of the 1st edition of the SFA Championships in Delhi reflects the commitment and dedication of young athletes, schools, support of the sporting infrastructure teams, in promoting sports and inculcating a spirit of healthy competition. As the city bids farewell to this edition, it looks forward to future editions that will continue to inspire and celebrate the sporting spirit of its future Champions!

Mumbai, 01st February, 2024: IIM Sambalpur, one of India’s premier management institutions, signed an MoU with NSE Academy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), to offer joint certification programs, tailored for working professionals. This collaboration is strategically designed to introduce specialized certification courses addressing the dynamic needs of the Financial and Technology Sectors. During the MoU Signing Ceremony convened at the campus of IIM Sambalpur, Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur and Abhilash Misra, Chief Executive Officer, NSE Academy Limited signed the pact. 

It is to be noted that as part of the MoU, IIM Sambalpur will launch programmes including the first MBA in Financial Technologies (Fintech) and a Post Graduate Program in Management at the Sambalpur and Delhi ISID campuses. These programs will be facilitated jointly by distinguished faculty members and industry experts from IIM Sambalpur and NSE Academy.  This will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of the financial and technology domains.

1st February 2024: Galgotias University recently hosted an enlightening event on “Ethical Audit,” featuring G.C. The primary objective of this collaboration is to cultivate a pioneering vocational education ecosystem coupled with on-the-job training (OJT), fostering mutual benefits for BSDU and the Dealerships under the influential umbrella of FADA.

The MOU’s strategic plans include comprehensive workplace training (internship) for students at designated dealerships, providing invaluable hands-on experience essential for their future roles. The collaboration includes tie-ups with renowned Dealership Brands for workplace training, featuring a commitment spanning three years. Stipend fixation over the course of three years and the direct involvement of dealership experts in student selection and mentoring stand out as pivotal components of this collaboration.

In the current scenario, FADA boasts a workforce of 5 million individuals across our expansive network of dealerships and workshops. Anticipating future growth, we project this figure to double, reaching an impressive 10 million within the next five years. Furthermore, the state of Rajasthan currently employs 2 lakh people across various dealerships and we foresee a similar doubling effect in the next five years in the state as well. The strategic alliance between FADA and BSDU serves as a linchpin, providing a robust framework for the acquisition of trained and skilled manpower. Such collaborations are instrumental in meeting the escalating demand for highly skilled professionals in the automotive sector.
